Ice queen Dee has never before shared the top spot with anyone. Running a new company with her girlfriend, Austen, is taking some getting used to, especially since Austen doesn’t deem knocking heads together to be an acceptable leadership choice. When disaster strikes at work and their management styles clash, they’re forced to figure out how to be as good together as business partners as they are lovers. It might take compromises and donut bribes, but they’re determined to find a way. “Partners” is a short story sequel to Jae’s award-winning lesbian romance Under a Falling Star.
Jae is the author of twenty-six award-winning romances between women. She lives in the sunniest city of Germany, near the French and Swiss borders. The writing bug bit her at the age of eleven.
She used to work as a psychologist but gave up her day job in 2013 to become a full-time writer and a part-time editor. As far as she’s concerned, it’s the best job in the world.
When she’s not writing, she is an avid reader of sapphic books, indulges her ice cream and office supply addictions, and watches way too many crime shows.
Yay! Cute story, perhaps a tad too short. But it was nice to meet again Dee and Austen. And I wholeheartedly believe this will not be the last time we come across with them.
Great time to re-read this now that it’s a standalone after finishing the newly released audiobook version of Under a Falling Star yesterday! I don’t know…their story doesn’t feel over for me. Jae seemed to leave a door open to perhaps see more of them in the future! Time will tell.
I honestly thought maybe we won't hear more of Dee and Austen anymore but with Jae we will never be sure. I always excited with how Jae always making sure we have the follow up of her previous main characters, either by making them reappears at her other stories or short stories like this.
I did wonder can Dee and Austen actually work together as business partner before. They are so different from each other and yeah this short story answer the question.
If you've ever run a small business, you are liable to have a feeling of déjà vu as you read this. I swear I've said some of the exact same lines. This is a very short, sweet story centering on a business dilemma and its unexpected resolution, in more than one way. A quick and easy lesfic read that makes you go 'awwww'.
This is a short story (one chapter) sequel to the book Under A Falling Star. It wouldn't be worth reading unless you have read the original book.
This was a nice and sweet little follow up to the main book. It was essentially a bonus epilogue that showed how the characters are doing a bit farther past the end of the book. It was good and anyone reading the original should follow up with this. I believe this is available for free on the authors website.
Sometimes miracles appear in the strangest places!
Two women own a small but big company. Having your funds disappear through a human mistake and finding the funding from an unusual and unexpected source makes the two women readjust their thinking of how to run their business. Short but enjoyable.
So, I'm really confused. This was a great story, but I don't understand why it's so short. Like, it's barely more than a couple of chapters. It just stops. Book 1 was awesome and then we get this. I hope the others are more like regular books with normal length content.
I really enjoyed reading this book it was everything I had hoped it would be, but I would love to read another longer book about Dee and Austen, with a thriving business and family😘😘
What a wonderful continuation to Under a Falling Star. I wish it had been longer, but I enjoyed it immensely all the same. Jae never fails when it comes to writing a good story, whether it be a short story or a slow burn story.
It's a novella that's a sequel to another book (which I liked a lot more). It was OK but Jae's longer stuff is a lot better. Still if you ever need an undemanding, quick read to finish a challenge or something then this is fine for that.
Glad Jae took us back in time to visit Austen and Dee again. It’s always a thrill to read what has been going on in their lives and we certainly got a peek.
