This is such a good story i expected only some spicy shark yaoi mpreg sex but got served some shark yaoi lore instead.

💖 Love that this was a hot spicy romance between a human (though not entirely given the swapping of sex/gender) and a shark/human.
💖 The romance was so good, seriously, from the moment these two meet in the woods and Tukiri saves Avel there is a spark. Chemistry. Everything. Plus, I always love a backstory on why Tukiri was so adamant on getting Avel. Apparently Tukiri and Avel know each other from childhood though Avel, due to circumstances, forgot about it. So I was totally shipping these two like mad and couldn’t wait until Avel remembered OR Tukiri told him. I loved seeing the two of them get closer with each new page and learn new things about the other. They had such a good and healthy relationship.
💖 The sex scenes were abundant but well done. They are sexy, spicy, hot. And also full of love, these two are so horny for each other (and I guess it helps that a little bit of blood makes them even more thirsty for the other).
💖 I also liked various other characters, like the close friend of Avel (who looked really feminine and was set to become the bride of the year).
💖 I loved the island, seeing it from the beaches to the dangerous jungles, to the villages. But also loved learning about the lore. From the shark clan on one side to the other side who send away their sons to become brides (I am still curious why that is, either I missed that in all my fangirl squeees or it wasn’t mentioned).
💖 Oh, oh, I love how in Tukiri’s village they don’t look at what you are (female or male) but look at your skills. If you are good at hunting then you are allowed to do it even if you are female. If you like weaving or making clothes and you are a guy that is also fine. I really loved that. Avel was so worried that he wouldn’t be allowed to hunt, because at his village the roles were very traditional. Women did women things. Men did men things.
💖 That one scene that Avel helped a merchant and how he treated that little girl, it was so precious and sweet. He really will make a good parent!
💖 The art! The cover! I really enjoyed the art style. I loved seeing Tukiri as human and half shark/half human. I loved the lushness of the island.
🤔 I should also really check my omegaverse stuff because our MC was constantly talking about how he was becoming a woman and I was taking that literally and kept wondering when he would grow boobs and lose his muscle and all that, but he just stayed a handsome buff big-dicked guy. XD
🙈 Also maybe me, but I definitely wondered how the heck TWO penises would fit in one butthole. I guess this is fantasy. That one time that he transformed in a shark while they were having sex and thus had two penises, I just went OUCH, because it seems so painful.
🙈 On that note, how did neither of them have trouble walking after that first sex-filled evening? I mean, generally in BL if one of the guys is a virgin it means the next day they are having trouble walking/sitting, haha, but Avel and Tukiri seemed absolutely fine!
🤣 I had a laugh though that the penises were glowsticks but the buttholes were in full view and all there. I found it silly that one is censored the other is not, plus, seeing a light stick go up just reminds me of that TikTok by a doctor on what not to stick in your butt/holes.

Ist für mich lowkey Omegaverse (auch wenn echte Fans das sicher nicht so sehen :D), aber es hat das Thema "Weibchen" mit drin und sowas... eh egal. Es war mainly Smut, es ist übrigens leider glow zensiert (außer der Hai-Double-Dong - yes, das kommt vor, es war ziemlich nice), und es ist auch sonst eigentlich sehr süß, neben dem ganzen Horny sein. Mh, das erste zusammentreffen könnte dubcon sein, aber es ist okay-ish. Und die Zeichnungen sind auch sonst ziemlich gut, wenn man auf seeeeehr muskulöse Kerle steht.

I picked this up after hearing about it at a Citrus Con panel a few months back and knew I was going to enjoy it, but I was not expecting it to blow me away the way it did. It’s SO good!!! I absolutely love the backstory and the way it unfolds, I loved learning about the two clans and the differences between them (and their perception of each other). I especially loved the smutty parts, they’re so well illustrated! The mangaka is excellent at what I consider “the good blushies” and they utilize creative shading and tasteful positional censoring when necessary but also give us the goods, in detail. 🤤 I was SO pleased that the mangaka didn’t just tease us with the two shark cocks, I love that they went there full send.
Tukiri is the sweetest, most precious shark bb & I love that he was so soft and respectful and genuinely cared for Avel. And I loved that Avel was so open-minded and flexible/adaptable, and that once he was given some freedom he was able to figure out what *he* wanted; which of course includes Tukiri.
I cannot wait for the second volume, I want to see them be all lovey and married more 🥰
Honestly one of the best BL mangas that I’ve read in a while and I’m so glad I picked it up.
A small note about the whole “the first time determines if they’re male or female” thing… at first I thought it was maybe a magical thing where they actually transform (like bye bye dick transform), but the further we get into the story it seems like maybe it’s just what they call bottoming. And I think that it would’ve been more upsetting the way it’s used, if Tukiri & his clan didn’t treat “females” like equals that are allowed to do and be anything they desire. If it had been a forced feminine role like Avel’s clan, it probably would’ve bothered me more. It’s still a little ehh, I feel like they could’ve gone the omega route and would’ve been less ick, but I also get that they were already kind of pushing the envelope with the shark thing & the 2 peens

Not big on feels but big on shark anatomy and I am here for it. The story is pretty caring. A man in the shark becomes obsessed with a man in a neighboring tribe. It never feels icky or yandere, its honestly sweet. I love Tukiri, he is always considerate and wanting the best Avel. I do think some would consider this dubcon cause the shark/blood leads to "animal" ways.
The art delicious. Two beefy men who kiss, I love it.
I can't wait to read more of their happy ending.

Normalerweise kann ich mit Shapeshifting umgehen, aber hier mit dem Hai-halb-Verwandeln und den zwei Penissen war das einfach weird für mich, so bisschen Beastiality? vibes, was unangenehm für mich war. Damit konnte ich einfach nicht umgehen, obwohl der Rest okay war haha.

I did not see that coming where Tukiri can have some specific shark attributes…Defintiely not something you see everyday in BL or really any series. Plus it is interesting that the Tangata clan are all born male, but no gender identifies until the coming-of-age battle where it is ultimately determines who bottoms - becoming female.
The artwork for this is gorgeous and really pulls you in. Avel and Tukiri are perfect for each other. Avel ultimately helps Tukiri accept his shark attributes and Tukiri helps Avel see more of the world outside of just the clans. It is nice seeing that Avel sees that their rival clan is nothing like the rumors and realistically is where he is meant to be, as he doesn’t have to have the pressure of the expectation of being the next patriarch.
We get some background on why Tukiri wanted Avel as his bride and was willing to give up his position in the Miyaru for him (at least until he learned Avel was the sacrifice to be his bride).
Honestly, I can’t wait for the next volume of their married life.

This was pretty much smut from start to finish. There’s a story too, and it’s kind of conclusive, so I don’t know what the series is going to be about. I don’t need to read more. Art was good and not blurred.

what better way to end the pride month than with two sexy shark-people doing sexy things to each other? it's veryyy steamy but in a satisfying way while also having a unique interesting setting and decent plot and really liked that the twist was unexpected (it occured in vol.2 prob this review is for the full story btw). also i'm not familiar enough with a whole omegaverse thing and not sure if this was one at all but that was a bit weird for me in the beginning (esp how the whole predicament came across a bit misogynistic/homophobic at first but then i was like is this just omegaverse shit?) anyway ended up really liking and rooting for these characters and the art was superb

This wasn't really for me idk I think a lot of "tribal" based BL can veer into stereotypical depictions and while this didn't seem super egregious to my white eyes, I'd be curious to see what Polynesian readers think of this. I'm also just not a huge fan of omegaverse or mpreg stories and while that hasnt happened to the MC yet it is established in the worldbuilding and I don't really care to see it. The ML gets points for eating ass though.

Mir hat die Geschichte ganz gut gefallen. Und auch wie die Unterschiede in den Clans thematisiert werden, und auch akzeptiert.
Avel und Tukiri sind sympathische Protagonisten und man hofft, dass sie trotz ihrer Umstände glücklich miteinander werden können. Eine schöne Geschichte über Liebe und Unterschiedlichen als auch Akzeptanz.
Der Zeichenstil hat mir auch gefallen. Schön sauber und klar strukturierte Szenen.

Ich habe ihn wegen der wunderschöne Coverillu gekauft. Aber dann war er viel besser als erwartet: Die Zeichnungen sind super schön und ide Geschichte war auch interessant.
Dank GR habe ich auch herausgefunden, dass es einen zweiten Band gibt. Ich muss ihn unbedingt kaufen und ich werde auch diesen ersten Band wieder lesen. Und vielleicht werde ich auch etwas Längeres schreiben.

This is probably the most interesting read i have has in a while. There is a shark shifter and a very interesting culture class with some amazingly detailed artwork. I loved it. I think it definitely falls into one of my favorite books of the year. I also like even though one person has been changed into a "female," they were both very equal in the relationship.

Wow, what a power couple! Very healthy relationship, adored their backstory as well. Takuri being a shark shifter is such a unique concept too, we need to see more sea creature hybrids. Can't wait to read volume 2.

Interesting… Avel and Tukiri were great and I died over Tukiri trying to have a real conversation and Avel thinking it was just sex between them. The clans were interesting and I like that Avel and Tukiri are going to change things between them all.

I'm not typically a yaoi manga fan, but this one intrigued me. Not sure if there is a plot, but a lot of sensuality and graphic sex with the main couple. I did like the mythology around the Miyuru people and would read the next one when it is published.

It was an ok read. Lots of spice, but the overall plot was kind of a bland take on changing tradition. Still though, it was cute and the art was pretty.
