Broken Tide: The Complete Series by Marcus Richardson and Mike Kraus is an adrenaline fueled, emotionally charged odyssey that plunges readers into the raw chaos of survival when nature itself turns against humanity. From the very first page, the story grips with cinematic intensity a catastrophic mega tsunami reshaping the world, and a fractured nation teetering on the brink of collapse.
At its heart, this is more than a disaster epic it’s a story about resilience, loyalty, and the desperate strength of family. Reese Lavelle’s relentless journey to reunite with his wife and daughter across a shattered America evokes both heart pounding tension and deep emotional resonance. Meanwhile, Cami and Amber’s struggle to endure amid a collapsing civilization paints a haunting portrait of courage and maternal love under fire.
Richardson and Kraus masterfully balance the visceral thrills of post apocalyptic survival with the moral questions that emerge when society’s structures fall away. Every chapter pulses with realism from the grinding desperation of the survivors to the small, hard won victories that remind us of what it means to be human.
Gritty, poignant, and utterly immersive, Broken Tide stands as a testament to the power of determination in the face of devastation. It’s a sweeping saga for readers who crave not just survival stories, but stories that test the soul.
This was a different take on end of world story. I appreciated the realism of the characters. Not one of the good guys was a Rambo but just used their talents and strengths in conjunction with common sense. The descriptions of the results of the tsunami were very important to the story line. I also loved how the area traveled by Reece and Jo were accurate as to the actual coast lline.
Loved all the great characters, each with a detailed background. (Marty is my favorite) The series moves locations, and each location is well described ! The locations are also, true to maps. I could always find additional information like on the WWII towers. A power packed series, worth reading!!!
Loved how the characters were well developed and how they all faced different struggles. Fast paced for the most part. Got a little political at one point, which could have been left out without sacrificing the story, but that was my only complaint. Corrected quite a few typos, but do that in a lot of the ebooks I read.
I loved this series... couldn't put it down. But then I love disaster books. I would've given it 5 stars except for one glaring error that was repeated a few times. The misspelling of Norfolk Va. Norfolk is the home of the largest Naval base in the US and this misspelling was inexcusable. Otherwise the book was very good.
Overall a good read and solid entertainment. Would have earned 4 stars but it lacked maps and diagrams! Map of Reese's sailing adventures, map of his land travels, map of the Bees Landing neighborhood and last, a diagram of the redoubt that was built - my reading experience would have soared if those were included.
Great adventures and lots of action. Loved every thing about this bad guys turning good and really bad guy's getting their comeuppance.. around a great book couldn't put it down . Made it even more realistic read after hurricane Ian hit Florida rather ironic coincidence.
Okay, so I have always like Mike Kraus and Marcus Richardson separately, but putting the two of them together was genius. This series was well written, one book flowing rather effortlessly into the next, and characters that were believable and some that just jumped right out into reality. Really good read, even for a an apocalyptic story.
This book series kept me up late nights. Plenty of high tension as well as sweet love. I couldn't help but think this could be real. Made me glad to be a semi preper. Enjoy
What a great series! I was hooked right away and didn't want to stop reading. The characters felt real and it was very easy to get totally engrossed into their lives.
Great characters, great story lines, so glad Reece is United with his wife. Violent scenarios, and many great courageous single acts, to show that when things are bad, someone will step up and save the day!
Great characterization, well written plot. I r sally wondered when I read the description of this series how Richardson and Kraus were going to pull this off and not suspend belief. They did a bang up job.
Another variation on the subject of Post-Apocalyptic stories. Seeing that the trigger point was a tsunami, it was appropriate that we had a story based on the ocean and the ships/boats that sailed through hurricanes.
A very strong story, with great characters. I love a survival story and Mike Kraus ,teaming up with other authors, delivers every single time. 6 books but one page turning story. Fantastic.
What a thrilling ride! Up and down the east coast. Tsunamis, boats, cops, cons and an ordinary neighborhood fighting to survive. Great characters and an unbelievable storyline!
A huge tsunami but the east coast of the USA. Reese is stranded in Maine. Camo and Amber are home in South Carolina. Reese wants to get home. Cami and Amber just try to survive.
Not hour usual end of the world tale. This story has breath holding moments, excitement and warm tender scrned. The characters are well developed and you wind up rooting for their survival.
This book series is an exciting read with a lot happening. Nothing 'same-old-same-old' with in it. The story was well worded and extremely fluid. The adventures were very easy to picture in my mind. You'll enjoy the series!
This one series I have enjoyed. Page for page it was exciting. Characters outstanding, kids become adults. Just about all the characters become leaders. Of course you have to have villainous and devious characters. The author hit it perfect.
This book is based on a different type of apocalyptic event than many others. And although many of the same challenges face the survivors on this series, the author spun a very captivating and realistic story.
Well written, fast paced, good characterization…… nice combination of good and bad characters. I usually do not finish a series, but this one had a definite beginning and ending
This is packed with numerous events, dealt with in unique ways. A page turner. I can see a few more Chapters in the future. Settling out the next challenges for the Neighbourhood.
The sailing was a little bit boring but that's only because I'm not a sailor. But if I wanted to learn all I'd have to do is reread these books. Very detailed. Kept it all exciting, and kept my attention.
Good character development! Fast pace. Couldn't put this down last night. Can't wait to read what is next. While this story is fiction, it makes one wonder how we would we react if we found ourselves in a similar situation.
This was an amazing adventure. These characters came together in true apocalyptic order. Anyone that likes this type of story will love this. I hardly ever give a five but four is as close as it comes.
Broken Tide is very well written and highly recommended as once you start reading it will be very difficult to put down. The story is very much as to something that could very well happen in a way that is very difficult to comprehend.
Was a great set of books but really needed editing! Some of the errors made it too painful to get through and it was no ignoring them. Overall the series outweighed the errors and I got done pleased with the time I spent delving into the tsunami ❤️😘
