Presley Stone never intended to uproot her life in the middle of her senior year, but some opportunities are simply too good to pass up. When West Penn University's new women's coach called her to tell her she had the chance to play, she put in the transfer papers immediately. The problems start to arise when she sees the one guy that's ever been able to rile her up. The one that nearly got her to quit hockey forever.
Hunter Shaw needed more time than his teammates to adjust to the idea of having to share his arena with the new women's team, but the second he runs into his nemesis from the past all bets are off.
Can these two find a way to work around each other in peace or will both teams get dragged into a war?
Brittney has been an avid reader since she can remember. Her parents' form of punishment for her growing up was taking away her books and making her go outside to play. She was born and raised in Southern California, with a brief hiatus in Arizona. She loves the beach, exercising, sleeping in, and cookies. She is an obsessive dog lover, although her affection currently has no outlet. Something that she is planning on remedying soon. She and her husband currently reside in the Rocky Mountains exploring and hiking as much as possible.
Romance, sweet, contemporary, YA, hockey; series but stand alone read Presley and Hunter’s story is an enemies to more novel. Childhood friendship list to hurt and bullying. Presley transfers to his university playing hockey, and both teams support each other and meet. Loved the character development, and gradually opening their hearts to each other. Seeing their work ethics, and moments together with a dual point of view made for a fun read. More of a 3.5 for me as a reader but rounded up.
I really enjoyed the story. Several moments had me sitting on the edge on the chair wondering what was going to happen next. Very good wrap up of the story at the end. Although the epilogue that is a teaser (more like a total cliffhanger) for the next book kind of stole the show for me. It was intense and has me completely forgetting about this book and just really really eager to see what the next story will be about. Rating: PG, bad boy with hook up lifestyle cleans up his act, discussions of bullying and the long term effects.
They were childhood friends until he decided she shouldn’t play hockey and then he turned in to her bully. They meet again in college but he doesn’t remember her and she still has trauma from his bullying. I loved watching Presley and Hunter reconnect and then learn how to forgive and move on. They can’t deny the chemistry they feel and there is plenty of heat but no spice.
