Cassidy and Darren’s whirlwind romance and subsequent marriage may have seemed rushed, but they never doubted their love . . . until now.⠀ ⠀ Seven years into their well-established and comfortable union, Cassidy begins to question whether the routine they’ve found themselves in is the strength she originally thought it was, or whether she and her husband have grown complacent.⠀ ⠀ Hilarity ensues as Cassidy attempts to shake up her marriage by performing long-overdue grand gestures, which turns competitive. Will she and Darren drive each other away with their antics? Can a relationship be free of conflict, or is the lack of conflict a recipe for monotony?
You'll easily fall in love with this sweet, heartfelt romance.
This book was funny, sweet, quirky, and absolutely lovely. From their very first encounter, Darren and Cassidy’s love story swept me away. I caught myself smiling many times while reading.
I was definitely reading outside my usual genre with this book, but despite the absence of sword fights, enchanted realms, dragons, and such forth, I really enjoyed reading this novella. It was–no pun intended–an easy read, through and through. I read it in a day, and I found myself thinking about it long after I finished the last page.
The plot was well-paced. The characters were well-rounded and relatable. The writing was not overly flowery nor lacking. There were very few editing errors. The cover is beautiful. Overall, high-quality work!
I eagerly look forward to Guerra releasing the next installment in this charming new series! If you enjoy clean, easy-going romantic comedies, then this is most definitely the book for you.
If you're looking for a sweet, quick, romance read, you NEED to pick up this novella.
Easy is the love story of Cassidy and Darren, showing flashbacks to how they fell in love, to now where they are finding their way in their marriage. Watching their relationship grow throughout the story had me in my feels. Having been able to read this early, and now rereading it, I can say both times made me tear up from how beautiful Cassidy and Darren's story is. I am excited for book two in this series to come out to read more about these wonderful characters!
Congrats to Devyn Guerra on her debut novel! 🥳 Easy is a sweet story about Cassidy & Darren; their meant to be initial romance and their uncertain time (seven years later) when Cassidy starts to question their comfortable lifestyle.
This was a fast and really charming read! Had quite a few laugh out loud moments and relatable situations. Many of the questions Cassidy had with her “comfortable” relationship are ones I could, and I think many could also, relate to.
I will say, I have come to accept that the lack of communication trope is my least favorite 😬 When Cassidy chooses to physically run away from Darren instead of communicating with him, I audibly groaned (but kept reading, of course). My husband reminded me that we wouldn’t have many romance novels if people communicated 😂 Either way, that trope wasn’t in the whole novel. Still really enjoyed it, and I look forward to reading more stories from Spring Oaks 🙂

I just finished this story and absolutely loved it. Seeing the relationship between Darren and Cassidy from the time they met to the present day provided how much love there truly is between them. They say their love came easy but that's only because they both put in the work to make it so. A beautiful love story from beginning to end.
