God, that was creepy. Nubia follows a girl she found hot home, then saves her, then sleeps with her. Creepy as shit.

💥: the action scenes were fantastic. nubia's superhero landing was great.



🤔: but i enjoy this issue the most because it asks the amazons to consider why they are so worthy compared to ➡️ medusa and many others who suffer violent deaths but are never resurrected back into 'paradise'. it also demonstrates that with everyone's memory of their former selves erased after emerging from the well, no one can question whether they are virtuous or not. they now have a veil of sorts shrouding the circumstances of man's world that killed them. they are innocent again no matter what. but what about for an immortal being like medusa? she cannot change her name, she can no longer control her body, as she once could, either - no thanks to athena's curse. she also cannot die and therefore cannot physically be reborn for others to admire again. unlike amazons from the well, she can't exude what one might call the aura of a virgin's pride. so happy this is the direction the story has been building to.

💔: and oh nubia why didn't you keep your promise to andromeda? (and, oh wow, what an ironic reference to perseus!)

I figured they'd go for that version of the Medusa myth. Wonder how they'll take it from here then, especially considering how the portrayal of Athena is kind of incompatible with the patron of Themyscira.
