Disorganized storyline. Rambling dialogue. Horrible writing. Grammatical errors. Incorrect word usage (ex: Their mom road with Rock). Incorrect idioms (ex: That's not here nor there.) The correct phrase is, "That's neither here nor there." Misspelled words (ex: pay role) Yep, you read that right.
This book was bad. I don't think the author did a very good job of conveying the subject matter. The main characters had zero chemistry. I'm still trying to understand how Queen and Dominic fell in love. The plot twist reveal was anticlimactic. Honestly, the only thing I liked about Unravel Me was Paprika being called everything but her name. Now, that, I thought was funny. Between the bad writing and the obscene amount of errors, there was just no way to enjoy this book.
Queen had definitely experienced more hardship than a child should ever face. Everything happens for a reason because I believe Isis and Dominic need her just as much as she needed them. I loved Dominic’s personality. He went to bat for the ones he loved. He protected Queen.
This book I had me in my feelings and laughing my head off ! Queen and Dominic are both well written characters who really make you love them both. Unravel me really broke my heart with Queen’s past and Isis hoping she is seen and helped. I really enjoyed this story so much.
From the glowing reviews I saw, I was ready to be blown away. Sadly, this one didn’t do it for me. The story started off really well and had the potential to be great, but the author failed to execute. There were quite a few issues I had with the story that just didn’t make sense, or was not properly explained, and overall it wasn’t my cup of tea.
(1) Isis and her dialogue. She spoke and acted way too grown for a 7-8 year old. It was ridiculous how grown she talked and thought, and reading her dialogue worked my nerves. I’m not sure what 7-8 year olds the author has been around, but I’ve never in my entire life ran across any like her; and that’s including the extremely “grown” kids I’ve encountered. (2) Speaking of grown children, the way Amber was allowed to speak blew me away. She was fifteen. FIFTEEN. I could see how it would have been cool when she was supposedly Queen’s little sister, but once it was revealed that Amber was actually her daughter and she went into “parent” mode, it was ridiculous to allow her to speak so vulgar. She carried on like a grown woman and all Queen did was laugh it off. (3) The author tried entirely too hard make some of the things the characters said funny when they weren’t at all. Especially the twin brother Rock. He was super vulgar and the jokes were lame. (4) There were so many misspelled and misused words throughout the entire book. It was annoying to have to keep reading parts over and over just to understand what the author was trying to say. (5) Dominic firing on the guys at the club seemed unnecessary and pointless. I could see if he laid hands on them, but taking them out didn’t need to be added, especially when it was never mentioned again. (6) I didn’t feel any chemistry between Dominic and Queen at all. Their so-called relationship seemed to move at a fast pace and it honestly didn’t seem genuine. (7) The ending of the book seemed rushed and thrown together. The engagement happened way too quickly and although I know that there is no time limit on love and relationships, theirs just wasn’t it.
Again, this one didn’t have the wow factor and I honestly didn’t enjoy it. I actually found myself skipping pages just to get it over with. I’m not sure if I’ll read anything else from this author, but you never know.
Whew this book needs more than 5 stars! I loved this book from beginning to end. The way Dominic loved Queen was unmatched. He was so patient with her from her troubling past. Also, to find out that his own daughter experienced the same thing from the same person has me shocked but Dom and his twin brother Rock went all out behind his daughter Isis. They didn’t play about that at all. As for Amber she was funny as hell. I wasn’t too surprised about the plot twist between her and Queen. But I’m glad they were able to work through it. Memory aka Memory foam 🤣🤣 and Tru were the two ride or die best friends anyone could ask for. I just loved there relationship with Queen. They did not play about their best friend! Now time for me to go binge read some more of this authors catalog.

Leave it to AJ Davidson to take a difficult subject and write it in such a way as to have you laughing and crying at the same time. Molestation and child sexual abuse is so taboo in families and is often swept under the rug, leaving the victim believing that it was their fault. Quentin suffered through this ordeal and pledge to be an advocate for any child dealing with abuse, thus her meeting Isis and her father, Dominic. I wasn’t surprised at the relationship between Amber and Queen, but I’m glad that they were working through it. Tru and Memory were true ride or die friends and stuck by Queen through everything. Great read. There were a few grammatical errors in the book, but I didn’t feel like it took away from the storyline.
The biggest draw of the book is bringing to light something that often gets swept under the rug which is molestation. The subject matter gave a real world view of its effects and the pain associated with secrecy. This book dealt with it in a tasteful manner that will have you ready for the love it provides. It showed growth, consistency and that love can conquer anything—even if it’s the demons of one’s mind. This story will grip the emotions and have you in a contemplative mood. Please read this book.
This was the perfect title for this story. Queen went through a lot but that didn’t stop her from being a boss! I love the way Dominic demonstrated his love through patience. He wasn’t like most male characters which was greatly appreciated. I won’t give the story away, but this book really opened my eyes to a lot of experiences we brush off. I overly loved the small gems through the pages and the comedic scenes which provided humor. This was my first read from this author, but it won’t be my last❤️
A sign a good story is it’s ability to tap into your emotions. I cried and laughed throughout this entire book. Touches on very sensitive and serious issues that many may have experienced. Tragedy to Triumph. AJ pulls at the heartstrings with this one. Fire read. You won’t be disappointed.
This was an excellent well written story. I love how the author tackled sensitive subject matters. Due to the trauma Queen went through she was a huge advocate for the safety of children. I love how hard she went for Isis. Dominic was rough around the edges but I love how he softened up for Queen. I'm glad Queen got her HEA.
OMG!!! Loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Loved the way AJ touched on a very much needed sensitive subject that is constantly overlooked and brushed to the side within families. When it all came full circle, I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat. Once again, you’ve exceeded all expectations!!
I loved this book. It was extra special because Isis, Queen, and I have two things in common MS girls and our birthdays, lol. I loved the way Dominic loved his daughter and Queen. Queen’s mom and Pap were a piece of work. I want to her from Rock and Memory. I highly recommend this book.
AJ killed this book. This story is deep and it has a bunch of twist and turns in it. One thing she's going to do is deliver a 5-star read. I love the characters that she created and I can appreciate how she allowed some of them to overcome their trauma. This is a must read.
This book touched on something very important that happens all to often. Queen deserved to be loved after all she endured and stone was the right man for it. In spite of it all he was able to prove to her love conquers all. I loved isis and amber. 5 star read Ps I need memory and rock ASAP 🤣
This book had so many layers and it was so refreshing. The character development was A1. Stone was bae. Not only did he ride for his daughter, but his treatment of Queen when he found out her story, made me fall in love with him. My favorite character was Amber she had no filter.
This was a great read. I love how Dominic didn’t pressure Queen about sex,, nd showed her that he wanted to love nd protect her nd accept her through wateva. It’s crazy that Queen mother would do her wrong even after everything she allowed to go on wen Queen was a child. I love that Queen didn’t allow her childhood to stop her frm making something of her life.
My, My this book was so emotional but in a good way ! Queen went through so much . What type of mother did she had she was horrible! How could you let your pretend brother do those things ! Dominic was all that he helped Queen unravel her past. Isis was a trip . I did like Queen friends and Dominic brother! Great read as Always!!
This was so good…. This story brings up real issues within families and how they are being dealt or for lack of better words not being dealt with. Honey Dominic is BAE I loved how he loved her through every layer he unraveled and how he learned more about himself to become even better!! In the end the love, happiness and understanding was beautiful ❤️
This was really good I wasn’t expecting that to happen with Queen and Amber and port little Isis that shit is hard to deal with as a child! And it crosses over into your adult life regardless if you want to or not! This was a great story I loved Dominic and Queen! Plus Memory and rock I wasn’t expecting but I definitely loved the glimpse we got of them
I loved it! This book takes you through it. You go through so many different emotions. But you definitely find yourself rooting for them. I couldn’t stand Pap at all! A definite must read
I didn't want this book to end! Queen momma was a hot mess. Rock was funny as hell. I love the relationship Amber & Queen continued to build. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️must read u won't be disappointed
Honey chile!! This book is filled with emotions but definitely worth the read. I went from laughing, to about to cry, to wanting beat a few peoples asses. But all in I definitely recommend. One question tho is rock and roe getting a book cuz they too funny.
This was an amazing love story with a twist about sexual abuse and molestation. I loved it, once I started the 1st page I couldn't put it down. It is filled with so much laughter and a little bit of sadness.
This was so so good and so funny. I wish paprika would of gotten dog walked but that’s okay. I’m glad Dominic was able to unravel Queen. Isis 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I would of loved a little more Tru. However, can’t wait to see what Rock & Memory Foam develop in to.
Chile trigger warnings please lol. I did not like Dominic’s mother. Hated her lmaoooo idc. She got on my nerves from the beginning. Love Queen tho. Glad she got her HEA
Beautiful love story. So much hurt and pain, but love conquered all. The way Stone put in the work was beautiful. He didn’t just want her body, but he want her mind. I would love to read Rock and Memory’s story. They are funny.
I absolutely loved this book! It was so heartfelt and funny at the same time. Lil Isis was my girl and you couldn't help but to root for Domonic & Queen. This whole story was Fye! I'll DEF. be checking for Ms. AJ DAVIDSON 🙂
This book touched on so many different things that happens in real life so many unspoken things but it still was so good. The twin brother is so funny to me. This was my first read by this author, but it will not be my last.
