Romans Vol. 2 | The Gospel-Centered Life (Romans 8-16)
This in-depth study of Romans 8-16 continues the journey through the transformative book of Romans. The study focuses on the what it looks like to live as a follower of Jesus that has been saved by the gospel of graceto live the gospel-centered life. The study is full of life-changing truth about our sovereign God that compels our hearts to worship.
This is the second of a two-part series on the book of Romans.
Good overview but lacks in depth discussion. I would recommend this for newer believers or for anyone reading Romans for the first time. However, if you're looking for more insight or theological depth, this isn't going to provide it. Although this comes from a Reformed perspective, it doesn't go below a surface level discussion of those topics. I suppose that makes it less controversial (Romans 9 for example) and will appeal to a wider audience, but all the ladies in my study agreed that we were learning more just reading the biblical text and our Bibles' study notes (I use the ESV Study Bible) than we were using this study guide. Eventually, we all discarded the study guide and just discussed and read the Bible. Personally, I don't enjoy personal reflection questions either - and that's largely what the end of each section were.
I really enjoy the Daily Grace Co. studies. They include a guide on how to study the scriptures and thought provoking questions/study suggestions to move you to understanding. This study was no different. I was challenged and motivated to dig deeper into how all of scripture points to the Gospel. Highly recommend!
