The end of the world arrived at the same time that a massive blizzard hit the city of Colorado Springs. In the midst of the storm, people began losing their minds. These people instantly became giddy killers who laughed while they murdered. Every fiendish assault on normal people was hilarious, every death a cause for hysterics.

No one was safe from them. They hunted the young and old alike.

Now, Harvey and Greta know that they need to seek shelter at their church. They need the counsel of their Pastor and the safety of other like-minded people, but the trip from their home is riddled with peril. The storm is filled with crazy people. Some are those who have become maniacal killers, the laughers, and some are sane people who crave power and are willing to do anything to get it.

Harvey and Greta seek safety, but their church may not be the place to find it.
What Harvey and Greta do not know is that someone else is coming to their church. A convicted killer on death row has escaped his mountain prison.

He has a plan and revenge is on his mind.

This man is driven to complete his mission and he has a surprising target in mind.
Can Harvey and Greta survive the storm? Will they reach their church? If they make it, will their church offer the haven they need, or will they become victims of the Laughers who hunt them? And if they manage to reach their church, will a worse threat face them?

This book was very easy and satisfying to read. I really liked the twists in the plot and the revelations that not everyone is who they seem to be. The descriptions of the scenes made it easy for me to picture what was going on. I found some of the characters to be very endearing, displaying unexpected strengths in the face of adversity. The descriptions of the laughers and the appaling things they got up to was quite vivid and chilling. All the more so because of their evil, frenzied cackling. There is one person in this book who is not a laugher, yet they are extremely evil. This person scares me more than the laughers do. They will be exposed towards the end of the book. I look forward to reading book 3. Bring it on.

WHERE IS BOOK 3, CHARLES?!

This installment of the series gave new perspectives and even more incredible storytelling.

How some people are viewing the laughing pandemic as "God's Plan" is so terrifyingly accurate, especially compared to our real life current pandemic. The Pastor character is so creepy that he gives me all the ICKS... in the best way possible for a book. Totally recommend and CANNOT WAIT FOR FOR BOOK 3!

This apocalypse series is so different from the regular zombie books I read. The name and plot caught my attention but the action packed and very entertaining writing has kept me hooked. You honestly can't even get attached to the characters because you really don't know who is going to survive. The concept of laughing and committing such violence is unique and scary because these aren't your slow moving zombies, these are very alive and powerful and dangerous crazies. I'm off to read book 3.

Name changes.

I enjoyed the book, as I enjoyed the first one. Towards the end, I noticed some errors in the character names. Greta was spelled as Great. When Mike sent to grab Sheena from the closet, he suddenly became Reggie. I already bought the rest of the books in the series. Now to read book #3. I enjoy everything I've read of yours so far.

If you're going to tackle book 2 of this series, make sure it's not been over a year since you've read the first one. I need to go back and read the first one if I'm going to continue with the series because I did not remember ANY of the characters. Super fun world, super fun times all around though.

Fun Read

This is the 2nd book in the series. The end of the world is here and doesn't end with a whisper or a scream...but uncontrollably insane laughter.
Think government experiments consisting of contagions in water mixed with the Purge movies.

This series should be subtitled, "Don't get attached." It really drives home the sheer random horror happening in the book.

This second book is scarier because it shows that people don't have to be laughers to be monsters.

I actually liked this better than the first one. Better characters development over all. It seems the plot is thickening!
