Beautiful collection of poems that are soothing and inspiring no matter what you are going through. Im a nature love and I lobe love how she connects nature all through the book. Highly recommended
Christy's poetry has a deep personal significance for me because it's the reason we met and fell in love. I first encountered her writing online through poems such as "Eternity" and "Soulmates." I messaged her about her poems, one thing led to another, and we are now happily married. Sometimes life does imitate art!
Personal history aside, I really love how so much of Christy's poetry reminds me of the writing of the Romantics and other classic poetry I grew up with. The memorable rhymes and rhythms, the emotional imagery, and her affinity for nature all combine to create the effect of writings from another time and place.
I admire how Christy has bared her soul, chronicling her journey from abuse survival to healing in the chapters called "The Dark Years" and "Reaching for the Light." She has put so much thought and care into each chapter of the book, infusing it with her intention to encourage and uplift.
"She'll Find the Sky" is a wonderful collection of poetry that fits comfortably in the company of poets such as John Keats, Christina Rossetti, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and Mary Oliver. The final chapter: "Little Life Sayings" offers life insights in the form of concise sayings which will be relatable for those who are familiar with modern social media poets. I highly recommend this book (and not just because I am married to the author).
This is a beautiful collection of micro poems and quotes by Christy Ann Martine. The book's cover is a woman on a tightrope overlooking a town, a symbol of how poets can see more than what meets the eye. This book can be picked up at any time, randomly for a comforting quote on hope and the power of love. This is a lovely book to add to any collection for some inspiration.
I don't read a lot of poetry (about 1 book a year on average), but I see this one advertised on social media and thought it looked interesting. I did enjoy quite a few of the poems. As with all poetry books some were OK, and others not my taste. On a personal note, I think that some illustrations/line drawing would have made some of the poems have even more impact, and would have perhaps broken the poems up more.
Absolutely love this book and the author. The poems are filled with love, vulnerability and romance. It’s just something people can resonate with. Can’t wait for the next book.
Pretty good; I resonated with some sections of poems more than others but there’s a variety for readers to relate to. Definitely debatable to count but anything to reach my 2024 goal lol.
