Ranger Bedevilled

Rate this book
Jake Masters is the sassy contingent of his Texas Ranger unit with a penchant for baristas—of either the male or female variety. If his smart mouth isn’t getting him in trouble, his indiscretions on his boss’s desk are. When his complicated relationship and flings converge, Jake takes the assignment his boss offers with a strong dose of relief—investigate a human trafficking ring that crosses international borders. The case proves more difficult than he expected, but a little tough love from his home office tells Jake that he’s handling this investigation alone. A local barista provides an excellent distraction from his woes. Jake discovers that his new crush is entangled with the trafficked women. Before he can give her his heart, he has to work out which side she’s on.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the second book in the Texan Devils series. I have read and reviewed the first book in this series, but I do think you can read this book as a standalone without any problems. I really loved the first part of this book, and it had me laughing so hard. The suspense was really good in this book, but I wish there were a little more details during the action parts. The romance in this book was good, and I felt the two main characters fit together very well. The ending was really good, and I loved that the ending showed the lighter sides of the characters. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

This book was fantastic. It grabbed me from the first page all the way till the last. It moves along at a pace which works perfect with the flow of the story, not too fast nor too slow. The characters are awesome and you feel as though you know them. This book needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that you did.

An action packed book.

Jake is called to the bosses office where he is reprimanded for things that he did wrong while his boss was away. Now Jake can only say Yes Sir and his boss tells him when he gets back from his new assignment in Mexico he hopes that Jake will be able to say more than yes sir.

Check out the book I think you will enjoy it too.

Jake Masters wasn't his boss Rhys Archers favorite person after a bisexual threesome on his boss's desk. Texas Ranger Jake was more than happy to escape his bosses anger by accepting an undercover mission over the Mexican border, he was to infiltrate a cartel led by evil Luis Michigan and his sidekick Riccardo who were trafficking both young girls and drugs.
The first person that Jake encountered in Mexico was Luna, a beautiful barista with purple and silver hair, the attraction was immediate but Jake had a job to do if he was to get back into his bosses good books.
Both Jake and Luna were keeping secrets, they were growing closer but Jake couldn't trust Luna, what was she doing in the cartel boss's headquarters ? What was her relationship with Riccardo ? and what big secret was she keeping from him ? Jake was even more confused after secretly stalking her at night.
This story follows Jake and Luna's blossoming romance, Luna's heartbreaking story and Jake's commitment to her.
This is the second book in Sofia Aves "Texan Devils" series and I look forward to reading Brodie's story.

Jake Masters is a Texas Ranger on a new job when he arrives and meets the beautiful Luna who works at the cafe in this small town in Mexico. He realizes that there is something special about her but he is there to make sure that he stops Luis Michigan from completing his job for the Cartel. He recognizes that Luna is not whom she pretends to be. Luna has come to Mexico looking for someone close to her but has not come across her in two years. She is determined to end as much of Luis's part of the dirty business by making sure she can remove as much product away from him as possible and she is doing pretty well until the night that Jake engages her to protect her. Luna and Jake hit it off right away but someone else is determined to have Luna but she is having none of it until she opens the door thinking it is Jake. Drama, danger, suspense, mystery, rescues, and love. Hea. I read a copy via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.

Jake Masters is a smart mouthed Texas Ranger in trouble with his boss, who sends him over the border to Mexico to bust a sex trafficking ring. The first day he is there, he meets a barista he wants, badly. He quickly learns she is working for the man Jake is trying to take down, and in deep with the trafficked women. He needs to determine whose side she is on, because he is falling for her with her purple hair and feisty attitude.
This book had me from the first paragraph. Jake is something else, and knows it. He is one of the good guys though. Luna is strong as they come, and falls quickly for Jake too. Their story ends on a very sweet note. This is a passion filled quick read, and part of a series. It is best if read in order, but you won't be lost if you haven't read the first in the series yet. Well worth the one click.

This is the second book in the Texan Devils series and another great, short read. The author does a wonderful job adding some great character details into this novella while making sure to develop the plot of the suspenseful story. Jake is the sarcastic, witty, and in trouble with his boss Texas Ranger who is sent to Mexico to find information and stop a human trafficking ring. Luna is the eccentric purple and silver haired barista who he finds has ties to the trafficking ring. As they grow closer, and things heat up Jake has to figure out who to trust. This was a wonderfully fun and witty novella with some fun suspense!

It's a great story about an undercover Texas Ranger - Jake -, who goes to Mexico to break a drug cartel and, if possible, save trafficked girls used by the cartel as sexual slaves, and there he meets a girl working as a barista - Luna -, who's searching for a beloved one while helping captive girls escape from their captors. Jake and Luna feel an instantaneous attraction and they have to decide if they can trust each other.

There are lots of danger, suspense, companionship and love.

I've received an ARC of this ebook from the author and all the opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

This book had romance, it had suspense, it had interesting sexual escapades - it pretty much had it all! Jake is a Texas Ranger who is trying to stay out of trouble with his boss. In doing so, he volunteers for an assignment close to the border to investigate trafficking. Once Jake comes into town, he meets a barista, Luna.
Jake and Luna have a complicated relationship - both have secrets and are not willing to reveal them. Jake even suspects that Luna is involved in the trafficking. He wants to believe that she would have anything to do with it but he just even quite sure.
This book was a great book and this author, Sofia Aves, has the ability to write an incredible book!

Ranger Bedevilled is the 2nd book in the series and I have to admit that having not read the first one, I struggled with the number of hints to the actions there. There is quite a bit of action and suspense to the book while the romance part is very insta-lust leading to insta-love. This is a fairly short book but still the happy ending felt very abrupt to me.

This book could be read on its own but does include some references to the previous book, and also links in to the Red Hart Ranch series.
I really struggled with liking Jake, and I'm still not sure I did at the end. He was a know-it-all playboy, who got himself assigned undercover as a punishment for having a threesome on his bosses desk.
I liked Luna; what she was doing and how she went about it all.
The relationship between Luna and Jake confused me, one minute they are sharing info that could get them killed, then they next they don't trust each other and believe they are working for the other side. They start as a insta-lust, but the hot/cold responses made it really hard to see their relationship grow.
We don't get to find out very much about Jake's work, how he managed to infiltrate a cartel so quickly, what his role is or how they intend to take them down.
I enjoyed the ending to the book, and I am looking forward to Brodie's story.

What an interesting couple. I enjoyed them both and how they both had things going on in their lives that brought them closer to each other. The author does an amazing job creating character and making you feel for them or absolutely hate them. Jake Masters, a Texas Ranger in trouble with his boss, who sends him over the border to Mexico to bust a sex trafficking ring. The first day he is there, he meets a barista Luna who he wants to know better. I love Luna and how she fights so hard to help others, she has a reason for it, and puts up with everything to help the other girls. She found resources and uses them to survive. This book had drama, suspense ,romance, and mystery to keep you reading. I recommend you try it. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Liked the story. The development of Jake and Luna’s characters was interesting. Jake seemed to be kind of a loose cannon - lots of talent, good instincts but still reckless with spotty impulse control. Luna was a girl alone, on a quest of her own, bravely trying to move forward with little help or expertise, but still helping others along the way. They recognize something in each other that keeps bringing them back together. Jake turns into a really great guy. I only gave it 4 stars because the writing had a few places where the story didn’t flow as smoothly as I might like but it kept moving and kept my attention.

Ranger Bedevilled

Jake is sent on an assignment by his boss to look into a human trafficking ring when he meets Luna. His penchant for batistas show and he takes a liking to her. Unfortunately, shes tied to the trafficking ring somehow, and he needs to decide what side she's on.

This was a fairly quick read that does end on a sweet note. Jake and Luna fit well together and despite the operation that they're both in, their story was pretty sweet overall. We get a lot of passion from the two and even a little steam.

The book was fun to read, but the plot wasn't really exciting. The concept was good but the overall execution could've used some work.

Luna has been working in a bar in Mexico looking for her sister who has disappeared.
Jake goes to Mexico on an undercover mission, and he finds there more than he could have expected.
A hard theme, sex trafficking plus drugs, women abused and mistreated, but well-written, although I have to say that, at the beginning, I was a bit lost.
The male characters are great, I mean the Ranges, of course. And Luna is just amazing: strong and caring.
I loved the end. I’m looking forward to reading the next book about Brodie.

Sofia Aves is a talented author and I so enjoy her writing, She is absolutely notorious for her delightfully fleshed out protagonists, enticing and interactive concepts with engaging plot follow-through, and delightful arrays of inclusive side characters and visionary worldbuilding. She has a way of crafting her stories, masterfully interwoven with progressive world building, action, and delving deeply into his characters persona without overdoing one thing or another. This is book 2 of this series. These books should be read in order to get the full effects of the book. This one tells the story of James a Texas Ranger and Luna a batista in Mexico. He is in Mexico trying to find out about a human trafficking ring and take them down. He has concerns that Luna is part if it. What will he find out? There's plenty of action, drama, and steam throughout. Enjoyable read.

Jake is a ranger, who's not been doing so well. He's been sent undercover to Mexico to investigate a trafficking problem.
He meets Luna and is immediately enamoured by her, but he's trying to turn over a new leaf.
She's in Mexico trying to find someone, working in a coffee shop for the local cartel boss.
Can Jake help her without damaging his mission? Will Luna find the person she's looking for?

This book is so full of danger you wonder how they can overcome everything. Luna is so strong she won’t stop until she gets to her goal. Jake wants to get to know her and protect her from those who want to cause harm. This book will immediately pull you in and not let you go with all the twists, surprises, passion, intrigue and so much more. Luna endured so much it was surprising how she was able to deal with it all.

This is the second in the series I have read and I loved them both. Jake gets himself in trouble with his boss and is sent south of the border to bring down and human traffic ring and drug ring. On his first day he meets Luna. He can't get his mind off her when danger surrounds them he will fight to the death to protect her. This story sucks you in from the beginning and holds you to the very last page.

Ranger Bedevilled is the second novella length story in Sofia Aves` Texan Devils series and a well-developed and easy to read adventure. There is plenty of danger and suspense, but there is also an abundance of witty banter and sexual tension too! I liked the flow of the storyline, and the characters were strong, serious, and passionate. A great addition to the series.

Texas Ranger Jake is in trouble with his boss, who sends him undercover just over the Mexican border to help another agent take down a cartel that sends drugs over the wall into the US. Luna has been in Mexico for two years while searching for her sister, who disappeared. This story has action, romance, and steam, ending in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

Jake is being punished and Luna has her own secrets. Brodie is still an anomaly. I love these stories about the Texas Rangers that are getting their HEA! There is steam, suspense, emotions, jokes and a great story in this book. There are unanswered issues and I love that. Looking forward to the next book.
