Rate this book
Kelly, a successful investment manager from Tel Aviv, is living it up. She is single, rich and happy to be with men just to scratch an itch. Embarking on a no strings attached relationship with the hot, much younger Slava feels like a great idea—and he's totally up for it.
Ilan, an ambitious and charming investigator working for the Israeli Security Agency, is trying to untangle a huge market manipulation scheme. He needs Kelly to crack the case, but she knows that whistleblowing might jeopardize everything she’s ever worked for. Ilan, however, can be very persuasive. Soon, and against their better judgment, they start mixing business with pleasure.
But, when Ilan asks her to stop seeing Slava, Kelly realizes that no-strings doesn't mean it's easy to let go. With her livelihood on the line and her love life a mess, can Kelly keep it together, or has she thrown one too many balls in the air?

Mia Sivan lives, works and loves in Tel Aviv. The city is as much a part of her books as any other character.
Mia has worked as a senior investment manager for many years, and the books she writes draws much from her personal experience, as well as real-life scams that took place in financial markets.
When not writing her HEAs or dreaming up steamy scenes, she lives with her handsome husband and even handsomer two sons, and enjoys long walks by the beach (it’s Tel Aviv, it’s never too cold).

This was a fabulous read! The author brings the diverse city of Tel Aviv to life as a backdrop to this steamy romance about financial trading scandals, intrigue, and the global immigrant experience. With well-researched and realistic BDSM and polyamory rep, this story brings the heat in a big way. But it also makes the complex world of financial trading and investigation accessible and interesting to readers with no background in finance. The characters are beautifully developed, with unique voices that jump off the page. We see them all as real people in their different strengths and vulnerabilities, and root for all three right to the very end.

I received an ARC of the book for an honest review. I can honestly recommend this to anyone who enjoys steamy romance with a serious side.

Crunching Her Numbers is the debut novel of the investment-manager-turned-author Mia Sivan, and the first thing you feel after finishing this book is the wish to read her upcoming books.

But, back to Crunching Her Numbers: this is a story set in the gorgeous city of Tel Aviv. The author’s words paint a picture so scenic that you feel like you are actually in this lovely Israeli city, even though you may never have visited before. The cityscape is a big part of the narrative: this keeps the story grounded in reality rather than jumping from one bedroom to another as, sadly, many stories in the genre do.

The protagonist of the story is Raquel ‘Kelly’ Yuchtman – a single, successful, beautiful, tall and strongminded investment manager in one of the medium sized investment companies in Tel Aviv – Cohn’s Investments. Her masseuse Slava is a young ex-military Russian immigrant who walks straight out of a massage porno, it seems. But Slava is a human being, and his heart is in the right place, too. So, even though Kelly’s relation with Slava begins as a booty call, feelings, when they develop, do appear real.

Then, to complete the triangle, we have ‘Sexy PI’ (this is the name Kelly has given to his phone number on her mobile) – Ilan. Ilan is a complex character. A professional Private Investigator, a divorcee with kids and a Dom.

Kelly and Ilan work on a case and both gradually fall for each other. As their relationship develops a flavour of BDSM, we see the clear anguish of internal struggle that Kelly deals with. Being a Sub is not Kelly’s cup of tea, but gradually she discovers that she liked it. And it was because of how Ilan eased her into it; lubed and lathered; hot and bothered.

While Kelly and Ilan are mixing work with pleasure, Slava is the one who Kelly can trust to always make her laugh. This triangle ultimately resolves into an unexpected conclusion which is fitting and leaves us wanting to know more about these characters’ version of happily ever after.

Now, first things first. This is not a book about BDSM – but whatever part BDSM plays in the story is well flushed out. This new Dom-Sub relationship is used not simply as an act of sex but as a life altering event. Which it ought to be.

This book isn’t strictly erotica, although there is sex aplenty and explicit.

This book is a romance novel set with a backdrop of investment banking: from mutual funds to family funds – frauds and scams, everything has place in this book. Still the author manages to avoid getting too technical with the market jargon while maintaining the workplace dynamics of the characters.

I’m surprised at how much I enjoyed the fluidity of the prose here. The book is a heavy read, with more than 6 hours of read time. But I never felt the need, over the several sittings it took me to finish the book, to skim through the paragraphs or skip pages.

When the hot stuff is on, it is ON. While either Slava or Ilan is crunching Kelly’s numbers, the reader will either feel the warm tenderness of lovemaking or a totally red-hot passionate fornication or the surprise of discovering the amount of care that goes into a Dom-Sub relationship!

The author has evidently put a lot of care in defining the character of Kelly. She is not a run of the mill superwoman: uncompromising and proud to a fault. Kelly as a character is someone to look up to and yet, a friendly and compassionate character whom anyone would be lucky to have by their side (or under them, or over them). Till the very end of the book there never was a moment when Kelly was weak or needed saving. Even at her lowest point in life, Kelly was strong enough to pull herself back together.

Ilan’s character has a rich development. His charm doesn’t simply come from being a billionaire with six-pack abs and a hunger no woman could fulfil…Ilan is a well written character whom you can not simply love or hate, nor ignore nor even summarise in a few words.

Slava, in contrast, is the simplest of the characters. And with his background and back story, he is Kelly’s anchor, her hero that doesn’t need to compare size to be the bigger man. He knows and accepts his place. And is rewarded for it.

I got this book for free when it was on sale on Amazon as a part of a Kindle promotion, but the review is in no way sponsored. Overall, Crunching Her Numbers is a great piece of storytelling, a book I wouldn’t have minded spending my bucks on.

I recommend this to any adult reader who want something more than just erotica and can digest some not-so-well-known aspects of BDSM.

Mia Sivan, ‘Crunching her Numbers’.
Women of Tel Aviv, Book 1. A Steamy Novel.

As an Hidden Gems ARC reader I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily wrote an honest review. Here it is.

Rating: 5 (of 5 stars).

In general: A strong Argentinian heroine in Israel.

Main characters:
- Raquel ‘Kelly’ Yuchtman (ca. 35).
She immigrated from Argentina to Israel at the age of 20 and now lives in Tel Aviv working as an important employee at Cohn’d Investments. In Israel the financial scene is a man’s world. To excel in this world Kelly has to have self confidence and sometimes to be a bit bitchy. She doesn’t lack those character traits. But it makes it hard for her to trust long term relationships.

- Ilan Ohayon (47).
Private Investigator and CEO of SMA Business Solutions. He’s hired by an old army buddy, now Head of an Intelligence Department of the Israeli government to investigate irregular Israeli bank accounts. Ilan was married and has two kids but his wife didn’t want the BDSM relationship he asked of her. So they divorced.

- Slava Korman (23).
The son of Kelly’s house cleaner. He’s a talented masseur who helps Kelly with her sore back. He secretly has a crush on his older, gorgeous client. His ambition is to become an osteopath. Kelly likes the physical attraction she feels for him, but keeps her distance when he wants more.

The author, Mia Sivan, created a very interesting story.
Ilan and Kelly meet when Ilan needs a financial expert for his investigation of the Israeli investments scene. The story of their cooperation is informative and suspenseful. But also their personal relationship is told with a lot of feeling and insight. And is complicated because of Kelly’s attraction to the younger Slava. That all supplemented with interesting info about a strong Argentinian beauty who immigrates and settles in the Jewish homeland.
The author cleverly brings together the different story lines. The result is a fascinating book. For me a pleasure to read.

I am sucker of books with strong female lead. This debut book of Mia Sivan, Scrunching Her Number, is amazing! She had obviously put in a lot of research and thoughts on this book.

I may don't have a knowledge or any idea about financial trading, but it didn't affect my interest to 'til the end.

The story revolved around Raquel "Kelly" Yuchtman, an immigrant in Israel from Argentina. She's a successful investment manager. She's fierce, independent and bitchy.

Slava, Kelly's masseur. He is young, well built and admires Kelly so much.

Ilan, a sexy PI, a Dom, who persuaded Kelly to help them with the investigation.

There were moments that I got confused with a lot of characters. But the MCs were all written, flawlessly. The chemistry of Ilan to Kelly and Slava to Kelly are undeniably not to miss. Their steamy scenes were seamlessly incorporated in the story inspite of a big scandal that is going on.

To be honest, I don't like the book cover. I think she could've done more to it. 😉 It looks like a romantic-comedy novel. Or maybe I'm not just a fan of a cartoony cover.

Overall, this book has almost everything you could ask for; powerful MCs, beautifully described setting of Tel Aviv, love triangle, steamy scenes, relationship drama, tension, and etc.. The author knows how to catch and sustain the interest of the reader.

I couldn't stop reading until I reached the end. I was immersed in this story from the first chapter and went to sleep at the early hours of the morning which I haven't done for a book in a long time. I loved Kelly, she is strong and confident but also soft and insecure. I loved Slava and I loved Ilan, they are so opposite in every way but I guess we need both in a man. I loved how Mia made the main characters round and deep and portrayed their emotions so well. I loved the multiple languages and the local slang, loved the banters and dialogues and the unexpected twists and turns...Loved the ending! Not your typical HEA as I would expect a feminist author to create, and she didn't disappoint. Last but not least I freaking loved the sex in this book. It is hot! It's been a while since I enjoyed sex scenes like that and didn't want them to end. This is a debut book and I am looking forward to reading the future publishes of the author because she has what it takes to capture the readers, intelligent, humorous, and interesting. All wrapped up in one wonderful story. I truly recommend.

Kelly is a successful investment manager, who enjoys her no strings attached relationship with Slava. Then Ilan comes into the picture as an investigator in a marketing scheme. The two despite trying to keep things professional, end up having more than professional fun. But Ilan wants Kelly to stop seeing Slava, and now she needs to decide what she wants and what no strings attached really means.

This was a fun read and a little quirky at points. I liked Kelly's character and how head strong and ambitious she is. I was glad to see the author did research into the BDSM community and didn't create a world that wasn't realistic.

Slava got the brunt end of everything, and I absolutely hated the ending that was given. I didn't care for Ilan's character at all, and was more interested in Kelly and Slava than Kelly and Ilan.

This book is 🔥🔥🔥

Author Mia Savin brings her experience as a Senior Investment Manager to life in her debut novel Crunching Her Numbers. This contemporary romance is driven by a fierce female MC, Kelly Yuchtman. She’s a tall, feisty Jewish Argentinian living in Tel Aviv. Part of the financial world she knows how to handle the male ego and demands respect. Valuing her independence and focused on her career, Kelly does not have time for relationships.

After a run in with a cocky private investigator named Ilan, Kelly realizes there is one thing missing in her life. To squelch this sudden desire, Kelly makes a deal with her young Russian masseuse Slava, a man she can trust to be reliable and discreet. Even with Slava tending to her every need, Kelly still feels a strong pull towards Ilan as she begins to work closely with him to help with his investigation.

This story had so many layers the pages couldn’t turn fast enough. Savin gives so much detail in every aspect of this book from plot, to setting to scene. You can tell she is truly knowledgeable in what she writes. She left me wanting to add both Tel Aviv and Argentina to my travel bucket list.

This book has some hot and steamy sex scenes. It lightly explores what it means to be a dom or sub without overwhelming the entirety of the story. This is definitely an adult romance, and if you like the steam you won’t be disappointed.

I was given a copy of this book by the author Mia Savin to see if I’d like to join her ARC team. I am grateful for her consideration and I am choosing to leave this review her voluntarily.

This book was a little bit hit and miss with me. The overall story was good and interesting, it kept me reading the book - however I struggled to connect with the characters a little. Kelly was very independent, not surprising considering the world she worked in. She knew what she wanted and she went after it.
I have no understanding of the financial world, so some paragraphs went straight over my head, although I got an overall understanding of what was going on I had no idea what they were about.
There is a lot of non-English words thrown into the conversations, which I totally understand as all the characters spoken several languages but I must admit, I spent time translating them.
Interesting story, interesting characters.

The story started out a little slow for me. You can tell the author knows a lot about the topics she is discussing which is great, it was also overwhelming for me because it was (as the title suggests) all about numbers. The attraction and story picked up though and I loved the way the love triangle was written. The age gaps between Kelly and Slava, and Kelly and Ilan was fresh and interesting.
Most of all, I loved exploring Tel Aviv through the eyes of the characters and it is officially a travel destination on my wish list.

There is a lot of potential for this series and I am eager to see what happens next.

This is not like some other romances I've read. So come with an open mind and you will enjoy it.

This one was not for me. There was a lot more about finances than I would have for a romance book and I would have liked a warning for the content in it. There were quite a few languages/financial discussions/etc. that I didn't understand and didn't want to look up as there seemed to be at least one per page.

I also didn't care for any of the characters - normally a love triangle is okay because I tend to have a favorite I'm rooting for, but I couldn't care less about anybody in this book. I hated the ending, too, because I personally didn't like how it turned out.

This book wasn't for me, I didn't think there was anything I liked, and I kind of wish I hadn't forced myself to finish it.

I received a free ARC and am leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Mia Sivas’ debut novel is so good! You get a strong independent woman, an attractive younger man, then add in a second hot older man, and you get one amazing love triangle. I will say, that usually love triangles annoy me to the point that I just cannot read the book, but this one was so well done that I honestly wasn’t sure who I was cheering for, Slava (the younger man), Ilan (the older man) or Kelly herself.

This book is also the first one I have read that is set in Tel Aviv. I really enjoyed exploring this city and culture through the eyes of these characters. This book completely pulls you in & you need to keep reading till the end.

I can’t wait to see what other stories we get from this series.

This is quite a book. I really like Kelly’s character. She is strong, independent, and ambitious and totally owns herself in a male dominated job. As strong as she is there is still more she needs to learn about herself. Ilan and Slava are both integral parts of that journey. I just felt so terrible for Slava, especially at the end when he says that he isn’t enough. He made great strides as a character too, but it was still a little heartbreaking at the end. I was between there and four stars but am giving four because I liked how openly everything was discussed, between Kelly and her men and her friends. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters are very captivating and the story itself is quite the page turner. The main character Kelly is someone I feel many woman can relate to in the sense of wanting to be strong, in control and non reliant on a man. But she also has her vunerable side that we all tend to have as well. Such a good story!!

I'm not usually into this genre, but I found "Crunching her Numbers" to be a great steamy /financial romantic story. I live in Tel Aviv, which the author managed to bring to life, and I enjoyed reading about familiar settings. In short, if you love good writing, hot sex scenes coupled with a little suspense, don't miss on this one!

Not for Me . . .

Kelly is single, wealthy, and ready to sleep with any guy as long as there are no strings and it’s just for fun. When the BDSM begins, I back off and delete the book. I didn’t see a warning and I cannot stand those types of books. I have no tolerance for BDSM.

Kelly is a rich, single, beautiful investment manager living her high life in Tel Aviv. She doesn’t date but has a simple arrangement with her masseuse, Salvi, releasing tension in her muscles and other places. Until one day when Ilan, a member of the Israelian Security Services, approaches her to get her help unfolding corruption occurring in her industry. She and Ilan click. Both on the business side of things and the sexual side, they embark on a BDSM journey that is eye-opening and confusing.

I picked this book to read because I work in the industry of accounting, and I thought it would be very apropos. Yes - this situation would be SO far outside of anything in my day-to-day life I would have no relation to; however, I was hoping to have a bit of a head start with some of the linguistics. WRONG. I was utterly lost during most of the book when it came to the actual storyline. It felt like the author was getting too focused on the details of the financial industry and investment banking and forgetting about the romance aspect of the story. As a result, I skimmed over some parts to get through the over-detailed areas fasters.

There were a few parts where Kelly came off as highly needy and whiny. Sivia made it a point to establish her independence initially and show that she didn't need someone she had to count on. Yet, she entered this relationship with Ilan, and after every interaction, she needed him and couldn’t function without him. Yet, Kelly chastised Salvi for acting the same way.

Admittedly, I started cheering at the end. Kelly exacted her revenge, her man, and made her way towards a happy ending. I thought things were over - but Sivia brought a twist that I admit I didn’t see coming. It changed the end entirely.

This book was not an easy read, primarily because of the financial topics. It’s geared for a woman in those industries, for sure.

[The second last para contains spoilers]
Thank you and for providing me a review copy in exchange of an honest review.

Let's discuss what's in this book first.
1. Israeli based story
2. An older woman having physical relationship with a younger boy (not any love kind of relationship)
3. BDSM (The same woman with other guy who's older)
4. Cracking a case

Okay so when I took this ARC, I didn't know it was a book based on Israel surrounding. Yes I knew about Tel Aviv but I didn't know it's a city of Israel. Forgive me for my little knowledge. When I figured that, I was thinking should I continue this book or not. But then I thought it's a book, I promised them my review.

Now coming to the book, Kelly had Slava for her desires or we can say pleasure. She stays in command and Slava has to call her ma'am. No they were not any Dom and Sub. Then comes Ilan, a detective who fantasies BDSM. Kelly started helping him to crack a case. He wanted Kelly to be his Sub and Kelly agreed. But Ilan gave a condition to let Slava go because he won't share his girl with someone else which is reasonable. Kelly in spite of her will told Slava to go and live his life. But Slava loved her, so did Kelly. But Kelly loved Ilan too. This is a messed up story.

Spoilers:: Now I must discuss about the ending. Skip it, it's a spoiler. At the end, Kelly got married to Slava. Then Slava realized Kelly needs Ilan too and he approached Ilan to be in Kelly's life. He doesn't mind sharing Kelly as he wants her happiness. So the ending was, Kelly stays in a relationship with both of the men, one is her husband, one is her boyfriend. Don't worry, they don't live in a same house.

I kinda forced myself to finish this one. BDSM was not anything I like. I don't like people to submit like a slave in a relationship. They do whatever their Dom says, kneel in front of them. I don't like this thing. But I know there are people out there who will enjoy this book. It's just wasn't my type of book.

New view of Israel and Tel Aviv

I love books with great settings, and good ones are so hard to find. This exceeded my expectations. Having never been to Israel, I'm not sure what my view of Israel ever was, but this wasn't it. I love my new vision of Israel given by Mia Sivan in Crunching Her Numbers.

It was so sophisticated, often elegant and somewhat regal, but with a flare of something subdued. The setting always lent a mystery of intrigue and the Throuple concept was very different than most - a new and refreshing perspective.

The plot seemed to pause at points while the subplot took over, so much so, that I could hardly tell which was which, and it felt kaleidoscopic. While not dark, it was also not romcom-y, and not heavily anxty. It just flowed like a moderate stream, lulling me in. It was pretty brilliant, but also pretty and brilliant. I would call this literature, and it might just be the first book I read twice, just to appreciate it.

Kelly is an investment banker who is well off, and lives in Tel Aviv. Salvi, her masseuse, is younger than her, whom she has a benefits arrangement with. In the meantime, at work trading secrets are going on and she is not sure who to trust. She's contacted by Ilan, who wants her to help catch who's involved with the trading secrets. He's older and as they plan out how to catch the person, sparks fly. BDSM, love triangle, trading secrets, foreign country. I liked the book, but they often spoke in different languages and I had trouble following.

This is an erotic story for the first three quarters. At first I did not like Kelly, the female lead. This almost made me give up on an intriguing story. Finally about half way through did both the story and Kelly become very likable. After this point the story really picked up. Loved the happily ever after. Great ending.. I loved the heroine. I worked the financial markets for years and i could relate to what Kelly was going through. I liked Ilan’s character. He is very Israeli, cocky, confident , clever and narcissist. And you want him to… so i was also a little jealous of Kelly.
The story gripped me and i thought the ending is brilliant.

This was a fun read and way different from what I'm used to. I'm definitely not a finance kinda gal, so I got lost a little bit in the terms that were used but I got the just of it. I love how Kelly's character was such a powerhouse and knew what she wanted from life and took it by the horns. I hated that poor Slava got the shitty end of the stick but I hope maybe he will get his own love story.

I was not sure about this book right away, Mia Sivan is a new author to me and the third person writing is very unique. It does take a bit to get use to, as well as the structure of the plot. But Kelly is a strong heroine and this book is full of steam!! Definitely a good read!
