How Lauren Boebert, the gun-toting Congresswoman from Rifle, Colorado, joined the fight to make sure we never live in a socialist country.
Lauren Boebert is the Republican, gun-toting Congresswoman from Rifle, Colorado who overcame difficult life circumstances to be a leading voice for personal freedom and our 2nd Amendment rights. Raised on welfare in a Democrat household, young Lauren learned from her first job at McDonald’s that she could provide for herself better than the government ever could. She gained national attention after wearing a Glock on her hip and telling Democrat presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, “Hell no, you aren’t taking our guns.” A self-taught conservative and small business owner, Lauren Boebert’s My American Life describes in vivid detail why Lauren dropped out of high school, the success of Shooters Grill (where her restaurant staff open-carries live firearms), and how she came to be a United States Congresswoman making sure her four boys never grow up in a socialist country. Lauren Boebert is a true believer in the opportunity of an America based on the beliefs in God, family, and country, where a one-hundred-pound, five-foot-nothing mom who had never been elected to public office suddenly had the opportunity, in Congress, to stand up for our core conservative beliefs and call Nancy Pelosi, AOC, and the rest of the crazy liberals out on all their bullcrap.
If I could give this book negative stars, I would. I lost IQ points just for reading this. She certainly loves herself and thinks she's pretty amazing (spoiler alert, she's not amazing). Please don't waste your money.
My biggest pet peeve on goodreads is trolls rating books they have never read. If you don’t agree with a topic, don’t read a book, move on with your life.
Anyway, this is a great story. Started out a little dubious but then Lauren became my spirit animal. Her views are mine. I said that! Anyway, don’t believe those one star idiots, they didn’t read this book or most likely any book.
Boebert spent most of the book trashing political opponents in a very childish manner. This book is much of the same rhetoric you see from Boebert & the far-right.
This book is a must read for all interested in the state of our country. DO not listen to the naysayers and trolls who attack this book because they hate the author. Please give it a chance. Lauren opens up her life in a very personal way... more personal than i would. She admits to the mistakes of her past and does not shy away from describing her upbringing and early life. This is both refreshing and honest. So different from politicians today making excuses and blaming others. The best part about the book is the encouragement she gives the readers to go out and make a difference. She was a small town mom running a small restaurant who wanted more for her sons. The book is well done and inspirational. Heartily encourage people to read her story. You will not be disappointed
I am so proud to be an American and have had my American life, as well. We all get to choose the life we will live because we're free! I am encouraged by this firecracker and her outspoken faith in Jesus Christ, the One who gave us freedom?.
First off, I did not purchase this book. I checked it out from the library. I also would never have checked this book out except it's part of a comedian's act so I was curious what her book really said.
This is the worst account of revisionist history I've ever read. There are so many things in this "autobiography" that are unbelieveable. "Shooters inspired me to read the Constitution of the United States of America. It's why I now know that our rights are God-given and not meant to be dictated to us by distant, power hungry politicians." Literally, wow. God didn't write the Constitution, politicians did.
Here are my top 5 you've-got-to-be-kidding-me's: First, she talks about the Constitution a lot. She dropped out of high school and failed getting her GED at least 4 times. There is no way she read the Constitution. Even if she read it, I can guarantee she didn't understand it. Typical Republican always attacking Democrats using what can only be described as alternative facts. Second, the points about indoctrinating children. The party of "protect the children" have more registered sex offenders than the left. Her husband exposed himself to minors, one of which was her before they were married. Third, "What do Democrats ever concede to Republicans?"... where to start. Literally everything. Congress is bad at working both sides of the aisle together. Fourth, ripping "socialized healthcare" and claiming a National Healthcare System like England doesn't work. It does. Her claims that people die waiting are false. In the UK, Drs determine your healthcare tmeline and insurance listens, not the other way around. And nobody dies waiting. Fifth, her recollection of what happened on January 6 is appalling. Quote "No one I was aware of was trying to overthrow the government, and besides, that would be awfully hard to do when no one appeared to be armed."
Bottom line: I do not recommend reading this unless you want to lose brain cells. She may have struggled in her life but some of it was her own doing and she did get government assistance.

Reading this book was like having a visit with my best friend. Lauren is as patriotic as they come. I only pray her are many more like her. And she's correct. We all need to do our part. Get out and vote, join the city council, join the school board. At the very least, stay informed. Talk to your children. Know what they are learning and set them straight right from the get go. Don't let them get taken in by all leftist rehtoric.. We are not racist. Look at the number of minorities in every job in the country. This is America! We are free and will always be free! We can do anything we set our minds too. Make America Great Again!
Enjoyed this book. Like how she talks about her life and looks at the positive points. She loves her family, business, country and God. It is good to hear about someone that has overcome obstacles and succeeds. The main point out got of this book is speak your mind. You have rights also and don’t be intimidated or quiet if you don’t agree with someone else. Great book, so glad I read it.
It’s not always easy but this book proves the American Dream is still alive and doable. I only hope there are more, in Congress, that has read the Constitution of The United States and is willing to stand up for it.
This is an excellent read. Lauren didn’t even graduate from High School but managed to start her successful restaurant and also become an out spoken congress woman. The odd were against her and she beat the odds.
Reviews of books like My American Life are often based on the prior-existing opinion of the author rather than the book itself (see online reviews of books by Candace Owens or Sarah Palin or Dan Crenshaw, etc.). A book should be reviewed on its own merits, however, and you can decide if you agree or disagree with the points made therein, or how well they were made. My American Life is a straightforward autobiography of Boebert's early life, right through her taking her seat in the U.S. Congress. She does not hide her early life on public assistance, nor her having dropped out of high school, nor her or her husband's arrest records, nor anything else she is often attacked/dismissed for. She explains the situations. She dropped out of school because making money was more important at the moment due to the poverty her family was experiencing. She tells her sides of the arrest stories, which are less sensationalistic than the hit pieces would suggest. Who is telling the truth? I'm not sure, I wasn't there. Were you? Through it all, a straightforward story describing how her opinions were formed and how her various business enterprises and government involvement is told. It is a quick and engaging read, and was also interesting to hear in her own voice on audiobook. She comes across as someone it would be interesting to sit and talk to over a beer and cigar, someone you would like even if you don't agree with all her politics.
Absolute crap about an absolutely horrible person. The only reason it took me as long as it did to read this is I kept falling asleep. Nowhere near as entertaining as comedian Tommy Campbell lead me to believe.
What an excellent book! It it sad that the negative reviews only reflect their ignorance and bias, and certainly not the quality of this read. It is fascinating and enlightening!
Lauren Boebert, a figure who has portrayed herself as a champion of family values and Christian morality, stands exposed in the harsh light of her own contradictions. The façade of her carefully crafted image crumbles under scrutiny, revealing a lack of true self and a disconcerting absence of moral principles.
Boebert's claims of family values have been shattered by the dissolution of her marriage under the cloud of alleged infidelity. The irony deepens as she becomes a grandmother to the child of her teenage and unmarried son, a stark departure from the ideals she purportedly upholds. Her attempts to justify alleged indecent exposure by her ex-husband only add to the growing list of hypocrisies.
Caught on CCTV vaping in an indoor public theatre where children were present, Boebert's actions speak louder than her campaign rhetoric. The footage reveals not only a disregard for the rules but also an alarming lack of decency, as she engages in inappropriate behavior with a one-night stand, displaying arrogance and contempt when confronted by theater staff.
In her four years in Congress, Boebert's legislative record is strikingly barren, devoid of any meaningful contribution to the interests of her district. Worse yet, she has consistently voted against the very constituents she claims to represent, raising questions about her commitment to the well-being of those she serves.
This despicable behavior transcends mere political disagreements. Boebert's infantile, derogatory, and pathetic conduct has garnered notoriety that extends beyond the realm of far-right extremists. Her intellectual limitations are on full display in hearings, press briefings, and interviews, raising doubts about her ability to navigate the complexities of governance.
As the specter of the 2024 elections looms, it is imperative to recognize the danger of entrusting leadership to someone with such a glaring lack of integrity and competence. Lauren Boebert's track record paints a vivid picture of a clownish figure undeserving of public trust and office. The choice in 2024 must steer clear of such a disastrous path.
If you have read this far you will know I have not mentioned anything about the book I am supposed to be renewing: The response is simple Every word written is rubbish. Filled with falsehoods, whataboutisms, name calling, idiocies, cras and crude insults. In short, Absolute Garbage.
I did not make it past chapter 3,a review in itself.
as a god believing in, ar 15 owning, patriotic american, it is my duty to let y'all know this "book" is an utter piece of crap and that it is UNGODLY that a major publishing house would sink so low to create this word salad dumpster fire drivel just to make $ from the total idiots who would buy it and think that this gun toting, cowgirl persona is anything other than a desperate scam and sorry excuse for a name. jesus. IT has a book about it. narcissism to the nth degree. boycott the publisher. / hope to allah that the blonde idiot version of this joke of a human takes it out and shoots this book in one of her money raising grift commercials.
An easy read with which any non-ego-inflated American can identify! To all you one-star, self-proclaimed intellectuals, I look forward to reviewing your published works (with highly enlightened content)!
Lauren Boebert. What can I say about her? Awful neighbor. Adulterer. Giver of public HJs. A good Christian woman? Living proof that toxic waste will indeed create sentient trash!
Money can buy a lot of things, but it will never buy Lauren Boebert class.
