Cain von Silford was reincarnated as the son of an aristocrat and given immense power and divine protection by mischievous gods. In return for his brave deeds, he has been granted his own mansion by the king at the young age of ten. But his status in this world is not assured -- first, he must hold a lavish housewarming party where he will be judged by his fellow aristocrats. And while his power is already so great that he must try to conceal it, what will happen when the king gives him access to the palace's library of magic books?
I thought Cain was supposed to be concealing his abilities, but it seems like he forgot about that. Or he’s really really stupid. The series is kind of passing to a point where I find it more annoying than enjoyable. With every description of his party, my estimation of Cain’s intelligence dropped further. It’s not enough that he had modern beverages. The food is modern. The dishes are modern and even the toilet is modern. It’s like he’s never heard of discretion in his entire life.
It made no sense to me that he is being forced to live on his own if he doesn’t want to. He’s only 10 years old and his family lives close by. Just because he now owns a mansion does not mean he has to live in it. Although it is very handy that he can wave his hand and clean and repair it Within seconds. I’m a little curious what happened to the viscount that apparently used to live there. It also came out of nowhere that the king is so attached to him..
The marquis acting crazy entitled at the party was also ridiculous. Even if Cain is a lower noble, blatantly throwing your weight around in front of so many people would reflect badly on the marquis. It would be a pretty stupid system that allowed for anyone higher to be able to bully other nobles at will. Not to mention that Cain is also the son of a Margrave. When considering if you can offend somebody, it is not the individual alone that you need to worry about. It is the connections that they have behind them.
Now the king is aware that he has been killing high-level monsters on his own. Kane knows that he is not normal, but is still so stupid that he does not realize that he is stronger than the knights. I do find it cheating to use magic in a sword fight though. It is irritating that he has picked up yet another fiancé against his will, as if no one has to even consider his feelings before adding more women to his harem. And then they blamed him for being a lady killer, even though he hasn’t actually done anything. It’s the girls who are dazzled by his fighting ability and aggressively engaged themselves to him.
The explanation of the elven territory didn’t make sense to me. It sounded like the elves were ruling, but they were constantly getting attacked and trafficked. There were lots of wars, and then somehow they became a protectorate yet also a sovereign nation. Is their land strategically valuable? Why did Esfort take them under their protection? It would make sense if this story was told to explain why the elf knight wants to marry a strong man, but as it is, it’s a senseless info dump.
Naturally, the first king turns out to have been a transmigrator from Japan. Why not? I know this is a manga, but the level of ridiculousness is getting out of hand.

I love all of the characters in this series: ten year old Cain; his older sisters and brothers; his mom and dad; the King of the capitol; the King's Prime Minister; all of the guards; ten year old Princess Telestia; the Duke's ten year old daughter, Silk; Parma and her Uncle; and the strongest guard in all the kingdom, an elf woman who looks like she is in her twenties, but claims she will live 300 years, and she wants to marry Cain because he is stronger than she is. This is a great series and so funny. One day, it will make a great action anime series. I gave this volume 5 stars, and have already Preordered Volume 4 that comes out this month.
This is such a fun series, when things settle down for a moment they pick right back up with Cain doing something outragous in the current world he's in. The party was nice and the way it was all handled made me smile. The last few chapters introduced an elf girl who after meeting Cain and battling with him has a rather interesting proposal for him which I couldn't help but chuckle. The ending also really set it up nicely for the next volume!
