Now an Amazon bestselling author, Sylvia Price is an author of Amish and contemporary romance and women’s fiction. She especially loves writing uplifting stories about second chances!
Sylvia was inspired to write about the Amish as a result of the enduring legacy of Mennonite missionaries in her life. While living with them for three weeks, they got her a library card and encouraged her to start reading to cope with the loss of television and radio, giving Sylvia a new-found appreciation for books.
Although raised in the cosmopolitan city of Montréal, Sylvia spent her adolescent and young adult years in Nova Scotia, and the beautiful countryside landscapes and ocean views serve as the backdrop to her contemporary novels.
After meeting and falling in love with an American while living abroad, Sylvia now resides in the US. She spends her days writing, hoping to inspire the next generation to read more stories. When she’s not writing, Sylvia stays busy making sure her three young children are alive and well-fed.

This is an excellent story. It can stand along and be enjoyed… and yet it starts a series that causes this reader to look forward to the next book. It is a short story so one can easily relax with it and not feel tied to a long story.
I strongly encourage a potential reader to get this book. It is a story about a family dealing with struggles after losing the husband/father at the beginning of the book. There are lessons for life woven into the book that people can apply to their own lives to deal with challenges they are facing or will in the future. Well done!
I received an advance reader copy of A Promised Tomorrow by the author.
Miriam, an Amish widow, and her four daughters are trying to keep up with the bills and payment of the mortgage on their farm. When things look bleak, her daughters come up with a plan to help pay the mortgage and open a bakery in an abandoned building.
A moving story of faith, hope, and that God always has a plan for our lives.
A PROMISED TOMORROW is the prequel to THE YODER FAMILY SAGA series and I can't wait to read more. The story started off emotionally with the death of Jeremiah Yoder and his wife, Miriam and four daughters are central to the story. There is a wealth of Amish words and prayers as Miriam and her daughters try to figure out if they can save their family farm plus bring in needed income to pay their bills. None but their daed had every held a job.
The story had a depth to it at only sixty-five pages and I like how the characters are being developed. The story had a nice flow and there is a sense of hope throughout even when unexpected things happen. There was nice closure but I was surprised when the book ended.
Ms. Price is a fairly new to me author and I look forward to reading more of her books and not just those in this series.

I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.
A Promised Tomorrow is a great prequel and it is well written with all of the elements to make a reader excited to get to the next segment. With the death of the bread winner of the family, the rest of the family are doing all that they can to help keep the family home. The three oldest daughters have been working on getting jobs and encouraging their mother. It seems like God is working mysteriously to help with whatever they can't do for themselves. I can hardly wait for the rest of the series to get here.
The Yoder Family Saga follows widow Miriam Yoder and her four unmarried daughters, Megan, Rebecca, Josephine, and Lillian, as they discover God’s plans for them and the hope He provides for a happy tomorrow.
A delightful read that captures your attention and keeps you turning the pages. A clean, wholesome romance with characters you easily fall in love with as they're enjoyable, easy to get to know and realistic. A perfect story to curl up with by the fire and get lost in a good book.

The Yoder family was still dealing with the death of husband and father. Miriam Yoder and daughters didn’t know what there future would hold. Their home was going into foreclosure. But they didn’t give up. They put trust in the Lord to see them into the path He had chosen for them. I have ready many Amish books but I think this is written exceptionally well and believable. I’m glad that I received an advanced copy. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

cancer takes the life of Amish husband and father Jeremiah, leaving his wife and four daughters to work out how to keep their farm, and move on with their lives
despite multiple tragedies, their faith and a kind neighbor or two help them to hold on despite their sorrow, doubts, pain and a gossip or two failing to provide prayers or support
more adventures, good, bad or indifferent, surely lie ahead

I received an ARC to review: this prequel sets the stage for the collection of stories that will follow - for each of the Yoder sisters. Sylvia whets the readers' appetites as she gives us a glimpse into the Yoder family, starting with the loss of the father-husband, leaving behind Miriam and their 4 daughters. The calibre of narrative promises more to come, with family and faith being the core of this Amish family and their community.
This intriguing short story by Sylvia Price is the perfect introduction to The Yoder Family Saga. You can practically feel the desperation of this family as they try to face the future without the man that has been so prominent in their lives for so many years. Just when they think they have a handle moving forward, even more disaster overtakes them but salvation appears in the form of a envelope.
Jeremiah, the head of the household died and left his wife and four daughters to find a way to pay the bills and save the farm. The three oldest daughters found jobs and thought things were on track to get their mother set up in a bakery. Everything was going well until one of the girls was in an accident. Will their faith in God and their prayers keep them moving forward with their plans? I am looking forward to the next books to see what the future holds for this family.
This short novella is a touching introduction to The Yoder Family Saga series. After the death of her husband Jeremiah, Miriam Yoder and her four daughters--Megan, Rebecca, Josephine, and Lillian--are left with an uncertain future. The story is well-written and emotionally rich with memorable characters and a strong faith thread. It drew me into the family drama and left me wanting to know more about how each member of the family fares. I think Amish fiction fans will enjoy this story.
A Promised Tomorrow (The Yoder Family Saga Prequel) by Sylvia Price. I really enjoyed this book. Everyone can relate to this story. It starts off sad. Their faith in God and a determination in the family this family keeps on fighting. I highly recommend this book. I received an ARC from the Author in exchange for a honest opinion.
When Jeremiah died, he left nothing for his wife and daughters other than a delinquent mortgage and other bills. All of them tried to think of ways to earn money to keep from losing the house. The mom, Mariam, assured the girls that God would provide for them.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
Miriam, after her dear husband dead, discovers that her family has a lot of debts. With only a farm and 4 daughters, no sons!, she doesn't know how she can earn money and pay the bills and bank mortgage. Interesting story, hope God will provide Miriam family with hope, jobs, health to be together and not lose their farm. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel of the story.
Miriam Yoders husband has died of cancer and now she and her four daughters have to learn to live and take care of their farm. They are Amish and God will help them find their way through this time. Hopefully they will be able to come together and become closer and stronger.

It is amazing how some people think that God has furnished their needs. It should be evident to them that someone was responsible for meeting their needs. God may have encouraged the person to do the good dead but it was money someone earned by working. Just a thought.
This starts out on a sad event experience for this family. Even through the trials of that event they pull together and find ways to pull together resources to help keep the family farm from foreclosure. What a great start to finding out more about this family. Looking forward to the other stories in this series.
Miriam & Jeremiah Yoder have been married for our many years.Though he wasn't her first choice for a husband, they have grown to love each other. Then the unthinkable happens, Jeremiah dies of cancer leaving Miriam and their four daughters with an overdue mortgage and bills to be paid. How will they survive? The prequel to a series.
I was instantly captivated by this quick read that introduces the Yoder Family as an Amish mother and her four daughters learn to live without their husband/father. I normally do not read Amish books but I can hardly wait to read more about the Yoder family saga by new-to-me author Sylvia Price.
Feels like a couple chapters in a book. This is not a full story. That was very disappointing foe me. Also, Amish tend to help other in their District. This does not follow their ways to make it believable.
Good book, clean and the characters are interesting, but the story needed more. It gets you through the worst things that the family has to go through then a little bit of a rainbow. Then done. Very short story, glad it was a freebie
