I know nothing of the poet. I only know the simple, yet eternal verses have a calling. They speak to the soul, if you choose to believe in it. There are many romantic poems in this book but they are not desperate. It is a collection of poems in love and hope.
I am always fond of finding indie poets like Taplin. This is beautifully written, in a language that is not estranging or awfully complex or conceptual. The dramatic elements follow the reader from page to page, giving a light in the dimness of a grey day.
I have enjoyed BT’s other poetry books; however this definitely isn’t one of them. The poems felt really disconnected, kind of underwhelming/ cringy, and just plain boring.
Also, 1) the body text size was painfully small to read, 2) the calligraphy style of the titles was difficult to understand, and 3) the overall quality of the book itself does not at all justify the cost.
Beau will always be one of my favourite writers. His poetry doesn’t just jump off the page it pulls you in and makes its way into your veins. Beau has always managed to write beautiful pieces that collide with my life… a beautiful piece of magic to add to the collection… worth a read
