That talent is important for a company to succeed is well known. What is not well known is what exactly is talent , how to source it , nurture it . The book is insightful on all these counts . Both within the HR community and outside, the general view is that the CHRO and teams focus more on the administrative aspects of the function than on the business understanding. The book opens up the potential of CHRO to multiply the financial success of Organizations. And also, aspiring managers wishing to be CXO.s will understand what is the talent that companies will vie for in this VUCA world

Anish described one company in the General Atlantic portfolio and expressed enthusiasm about its leadership and the prospects for scaling up the business rapidly and delivering a better than 4x increase in shareholder value in the range of four to five years. What struck me as unusual was the rigorous process he followed for analyzing and developing a talent strategy for portfolio companies. He has a data-driven playbook that is integrated with the deal objectives that General Atlantic has for its investments.

The book emphasises the point in 10 brilliant case studies from across the globe, showcasing how Talent made the difference in multiplying the market cap for the organisation.

The book is full of deep insights from organisations who have acted upon the Talent playbook and reaped benefits. Must read for CEO hopefuls and HR practitioners.

Does not include detailed explanations or deep insights. My two biggest learnings are building a Talent book and have a system to identify hipos at your company. But even those two concepts are not that well explained.
