A Snowed In Love Affair
Laken’s plan was to spend Christmas with her family and fiancé. It was supposed to be the highlight to her December. The holiday spirit was running through her veins, and it was the season for joy and love. Right? Wrong. Laken couldn’t have been more wrong as her plans began to swiftly spiral. Instead of making it to what should have been a mountain retreat, she ended up stranded on the side of a mountain road with snow accumulating all around her.
Devin’s plan was to get drunk, alone in the mountains and sulk for the holidays. Having all the money he could want did nothing to make Devin happy. The only person who had the power to change his mood was beyond his reach. And there was no way Devin would surround himself with people enjoying the holiday season while he was miserable. The Grinch spirit had him retreating to the mountains for solitude.

Now THIS is how you write a Christmas story!!! 🤶🏽🎅🏽🎄⛄️🎁 It’s the most wonderful time of the year and there’s nothing Laken loves more than Christmas! The gifts,the cooking, the family togetherness…it all means everything to her. Her parents recently purchased a luxury cabin and she is looking forward to being with those she loves! Well thanks to her fxck boy of a fiancé he never got her Range Rover serviced and she ends up stranded on the side of the road as a snowstorm approaches. Survival mode kicks in and she takes cover at the first sight of refuge she sees. Throwing caution to the wind she knocks on the door of a lone cabin in the woods and comes face to face with a BDE having hunk of a man that has been crafted by God himself and lets just say keeping her Ho Ho Ho under control is going to be harder than she imagined. Devin was not in the Christmas spirit at all. In fact he was off the grid looking for solitude after his bitter baby mama decided at the last minute he couldn’t get his daughter for the holidays. Now that they’re both snowed in, they plan to make this the best Christmas that two strangers can have and boy did they ever!!! Hunny Devin had her chestnuts roasting all over his open fire 🤣🥵 he was giving her the dxck I mean gift that kept on giving!! This was by far one of the best Christmas love stories I’ve read! If you’re looking for some sexy holiday cheer, read this ASAP!!!

Stop what you're doing and read this book! A Snowed In Love Affair was soooooooooo good! It's full of interesting characters that will capture your attention from start to finish. I'm so in love with Laken and Devin! You will definitely root for them. These two came through with the instant chemistry, romantic vibes, sexy vibes, and BDE. I wasn't happy with the year they spent apart but, Laken and Devin ultimately found their way back to each other. It's like that saying goes, "What's meant to be will be" and Laken and Devin were definitely meant to be. And, that ending! Y'all didn't have to hit us with the TVOne black holiday movie feels! A Snowed In Love Affair was such a good book. It was well written with an attention grabbing storyline. This was, by far, my favorite holiday book of 2021.

Laken x Devin
Absolutely amazing. One of the best Holiday books I've read. Laken stole my heart. She was just soo loveable. I don’t understand how Calen fumbled the bag so bad. Laken had beauty, body, brain and heart. While Laken was a damsel in distress, here comes Devin to the rescue. Expect Devin wasn't really a knight in shining armor. He was just a sad, sexy, bearded BDE man who sort of lost his Christmas spirit because of his heartless baby moms. So he decided to retreat and unplug for Christmas at a cabin outside of the city. He was kind enough to let a stranded Laken in his space while they were snowed in. I'll say this, this was almost an insta-love kind of thing..The attraction was immediate. I looooove watching them fall in love. Devin was absolutely perfect for and to Laken. I love the chemistry, the family, the snow and Christmas and the love 🥰. I understand tastes in books are subjective, but I guarantee, we can come in accord and say this is a great book and you'll love it. Clearly I'm late cause all my book friends have already read this one. But in case you haven't, I highly recommend this one. I believe this my first book by Ms. Davis and most certainly won't be my last. Get into it.

I purchased this book at the Indie Love fair and have been waiting for the holidays to break it out. This is another one that would make the line up if we had our own Hallmark channel. Laken’s not getting the attention she needs, physically or emotionally. Her fiancé, who should be making a trip up the mountains with her forgets to get the gas gauge on her truck fixed. So when her truck runs out of gas in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere, she finds herself knocking on a random stranger’s door.
Devin has come to the mountains to disconnect and decompress. All he wants is to be able to spend time with his daughter. His selfish and trifling baby muva has been using their daughter as a means to get what she wants.
The two ended up snowed in together for the holidays with no way of reaching out to friends or family. The chemistry was 🌶️ from day one. Devin was charming, protective and a man’s man. Let’s not forget about Rocky, I think he had his holidays and role mixed up because bro was sometimes playing Cupid and others cockblocking. 🤭

Oh my goodness. This was such a cute story! Strangers to lovers. I enjoyed reading it. Laken & Devin ❤️🔥 They meet after Laken literally tumbles into Devin’s life. Missing Christmas with her family they make the most of it at Devin’s cabin, all while falling in love and the other not knowing. Going their separate ways after the time they spent had lasting impressions. When 2 souls are meant to connect they will even under the craziest circumstances. Christmas once again bringing them back together. A Snowed in Love Affair 🥰

Christmas Fate
Yessss this was so good!
Laken was in a boring, lackluster, unfaithful relationship and honestly I couldn't see what she saw in Calen. Due to his carelessness she stumbles upon Devin. A beautiful man that changes the outlook she has on love, life, and her future.
Devin is at a crossroads in life and had been going through it. Needing some time alone he expected to have a nice getaway only to be interrupted by this beautiful beauty Laken. There was an undercurrent between them immediately. They were both at a loss because they were literally strangers.
Laken and Devin together were a whole vibe. There was an ease about them. They joked, laughed, and communicated like old friends. Even though the time they spent together was minimal their souls connected and it was just an overall life changing experience for both of them...physically and mentally.
During their time apart I was so worried that they wouldn't connect again because they were both trying to deny their connection. But both of them managed to better themselves and were ready once they finally reunited.
This was such a sweet story. Book friends y'all were A1 with this recommendation!

Now this was perfection a thousand times over… This is how christmas is done… I loved Laken and Devin everything just felt right from the beginning… The food, conversation, the spice and all the feels of Christmas magic was wrapped up so wonderfully in this story… One of thee best holiday reads i have ever read thorough from beginning to end and I want more … I don’t want to let Devin and Laken go because this was too freaking good

4.5 Snowed in Stars
Laken and Devin had me so caught up, I had to park in the parking lot at Target just to finish this book. I also messaged one of the author’s because “That’s what I do”. Laken is en route to spend the holidays with her family when she has faced with car issues with a winter storm on the horizon. Luckily, a cabin is nearby and the owner Devin is kind enough to allow her to stay with him until the weather passes. Shanel and Shay did the damn thing with a snowed in love affair. It is so good. It’s like instalove, opposites attract and forced proximity had a love affair and this gem is the outcome. Devin is a true compassionate gangsta who just wants to be a father to his daughter. The way he opened his home to Laken and gave her what she didn’t even know she needed, has me so emotional. This couple to me is the perfect example of “fate”. They gel so well together. I loved the way they communicated with each other. They spent time getting to know each other while exposing the not so pretty aspects of their life. The character development in this book is impressive. We got to see them as individuals handling their personal issues, so when the time came for them to reconnect,it was so heartwarming. Two people who left a lasting impression on each other finally found their way home. Gahhhh. I loved it. However, I wish it did happen sooner LOL! My only issue with this story was the bitter baby momma aspect of it. Oh how that trope annoys me. Outside of that, this book is a must read! If you believe that your perfect match exists and everyone deserves a second chance at a relations that feeds their soul, read this

It us 1:31am and I'm up reviewing this ending work of art. Between 12/5-12/28, I've read a total of 18 Christmas books and out of all those books this had been by far the best motherfudgesicklestix Christmas book I've read thus far. Like I thought Queen Aubreé Pynn's "A Lonely Christmas" left me speechless. Bay-be, after I finished reading this book I was sitting there reciting Darius from Love Jones "It defies description", lbvms😜 . Now this it's my first read by Queen Shanel(but it won't be my last), but Queen Shay Davis Bay-be she never cease to amaze me!
Devin and Laken are the perfect definition of opposites attract. They're from 2 different worlds thrown together by a f'boy of a fiancé and a horrible snow storm. I couldn't stand Calen from jump, like before we got his background story he rubbed me the wrong way. Devin was a man wanting to better his life for him and his daughter. His baby momma Deja was the epitome of a women who messed over a good man and got the nerve to be bitter asf cause he chose to walk away. She was very jealous of her daughter and used her as a pawn to try and make Devin life a living hell, smdh. I despise Bit**'s like her, cause her child's father wants to be involved and she's just the worst. But karma came back to bite that bih in the a**. I'm so proud Laken chose happiness over history cause Calen wasn't gonna ever give her happiness, love, attention and sexual freedom to got being with Devin. Devin was that ninja and I love him😍. That makeup sex😜💦💦💦. That ending had me shedding some tears.

Oh, my God, I loved this read so much! ❤ I was giving Laken the 👀 for putting up with that ish from Calen, but to each his own! Going off into the mountains alone was a feat all in itself, but then to get stranded in a snowstorm; girl your luck done ran out! Maybe not..... when she stumbles upon Devin's cabin, the fun begins! I love how they connected so quickly, had such an ease in their conversation and the chemistry was insane! Laken made Devin forget the reason he was in the cabin drowning in his feelings. She built him up and gave him the confidence to fight for Raven. Devin made Laken think..... Calen who?? 😂 She experienced what real love was supposed to be, and knew that she didn't have it currently. Those few days that they spent together were hot, steamy and sexy! But, also full of fun times, and interesting conversations. I couldn't believe that Laken was walking away from this man! For Calen's boring azz! Ughh..... Both Devin and Laken suffered while they were apart, and they had me wondering if either of them would seek out the other. So, glad that they quit playing and put the duo back together! I loved Laken's parents, as they were hysterical! Oh, can't forget Rocky! He grew on me too, and I'm not an animal person! 😂Really enjoyed this one! Kudos Ladies! 👍👍👍

Omg..
I saw a review of this book so I decided to give it a chance. And boy was I surprised. This book was so good. I like that Laken finally went after what she wanted and left the dead weight- everyone told her she was too good for. I loved Devin and how he cared for her. I’m glad Raven was around love and got a real mom. This story was honestly all around good and I enjoyed it.
I hate that they spent a year apart but I’m glad Lake got to know herself in that time to know she wouldn’t settle anymore. I’m also glad she finally got to realize and bask in the fact that she loved Devin and he loved her.

4 1/2 "Merry Christmas, shorty." Stars!
I absolutely loved this book! Devin was so dang swoony. Rocky , his dog was adorable, and Raven, his daughter was so cute. Laken was a sweetheart too. The family atmosphere, dynamic, conversations, food, slang all of it were all so familiar to me. It was like comfort food. I loved this story! This isn't quite 5 stars for me because But oh well, I still loved this book! Happy reading!

3.5 Cute Stars
This was an interesting Christmas romance featuring Laken, an Internet security expert, engaged to a man with whom her relationship has gotten stale, and (what ShadesNPages on Instagram terms a compassionate gangster), Devin, a drug dealer who’s trying to clean up his money to get custody of his daughter. The two meet when Laken’s car breaks down in the midst of a blizzard and she doesn’t have her charger, and she gets lost and hurt, and in a Hallmark Christmas movie turn of events, they are forced to hunker down together in his remote cabin in the middle of nowhere for a few days.
There were lots of things I liked about this. I liked the cute premise and I liked the set up and the readability and the storytelling. This is pretty spicy as one can expect from these authors, and it is a good pick if you’re looking for a hot Christmas romance. I liked the family dynamics and the open relationship between Laken and her parents. There was humour to this and the communication between Laken and Devin was 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. You could feel the chemistry and attraction in a way that showed rather than told and the situations and characters felt super authentic because of that. There was fairly good character development and I feel like within this story, the MCs were profiled fairly consistently even though I was utterly confused by Laken’s self-sabotaging “forever a baby girl” attitude with the situation with her fiancé.
I think the two things that bothered me were the definite cheatation that takes place in this- I mean it wasn’t heartbreaking because that relationship was dead but I don’t love to see it. Even more, I hate the trope of retaliation infidelity because I don’t really see the point or who is being punished- if you’ve been wanting to explore the streets, just explore them with your full chest- don’t make it about a trifling person you dont even care about anymore…. or do- whatever, it’s just a trope I loathe! Fortunately, this was more just a discussion than Laken’s actual motivation. I hated the fact that Laken was soooo dependent on being spoiled by a man that she sold herself short in her relationship even though she didn’t need to because 1.) she had her own money from her own great job and 2.) she had wealthy parents ready to do some spoiling. It just didn’t make sense that some dude paying bills that she could afford herself had her that tied up in a toxic relationship lusting after someone else even AFTER everything that happened. It made me me wonder about her, because I couldn’t understand her “why.” I did like Devin, even though I find it hard to stay neutral on drug dealing because I find it a little triggering having seen it ruin people’s lives and so it wouldn’t be my first choice hero occupation, but he was definitely a sympathetic character and you 100% understood why he was in that line of work (Laken’s mother even alludes to this if you don’t get it).
But these quibbles didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book. The authors I really created in Laken and Devin, characters that get pretty likeable even with their dramas and the dramas, and characters that made sense as a couple and I thought they had a really cute, sexy, love story. I would say this was instalove done properly in a cute Christmas romance movie style package.

It made me me wonder about her, because I couldn’t understand her “why.” I did like Devin, even though I find it hard to stay neutral on drug dealing because I find it a little triggering having seen it ruin people’s lives and so it wouldn’t be my first choice hero occupation, but he was definitely a sympathetic character and you 100% understood why he was in that line of work (Laken’s mother even alludes to this if you don’t get it).
But these quibbles didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book. The authors I really created in Laken and Devin, characters that get pretty likeable even with their dramas and the dramas, and characters that made sense as a couple and I thought they had a really cute, sexy, love story. I would say this was instalove done properly in a cute Christmas romance movie style package.

Feel Good Christmas Romance
Laken hasn’t been happy in her current relationship for a while and her fiancé Calen doesn’t seem to want to make the necessary changes to make her happy yet and still Laken was looking forward to their time at the cabin in the mountains with her family. Calen however has neglected Laken yet again leaving her to drive to her parents cabin alone. Laken’s trip doesn’t go as planned and she ends up stranded with a fine stranger who is making her feel things she hasn’t been feeling in a while. Devin had plans to spend his holiday drunk at his cabin in the mountains while sulking because he isn’t able to spend Christmas with his daughter. He never expected a beautiful stranger to land on his doorstep during the biggest snow storm of the year.
This was my first Christmas read this season and whew what a way to start! Devin and Laken come from two different worlds (Laken is a smart techie engaged to a f*** boy while Devin was in the streets trying to go legit and get custody of his daughter) trapped together during a snow storm. I was so here for Devin and Laken because I knew from jump Calen wasnt s*** and didn’t deserve Laken. I was celebrating Laken getting her revenge on Calen.
Poor Devin just wanted his daughter but his baby momma played a lot of games and used his poor daughter as a pawn, got to be more careful knocking up these hoodrats IJS, anyway old girl deserved everything coming to her grimy a**.
Laken and Devin together were 🔥, their instant attraction was felt through the pages. Devin was ready to give Laken what she was missing from jump and Laken couldn't hold out too long, sis was eyeing Laken when he bought her into the house, Calen be damned. I loved how they took the necessary time to get their lives in order before they took their relationship to the next level.
This was a great start to my holiday reads. I have read a few books by Shanel but this was my first Shay Davis read and it definitely will not be my last. Shanel and Shay Davis together made a feel good Christmas story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Shay, good read. You always give me some good old black love. Devin could've been one of those bitter brother's, and Laken tried to live a life that wasn't really for her. It's so funny how God will always have his own agenda especially when you have your own plan.
Devin had enough street and corporate in him to be able to handle all obstacles that came his way. Meeting Laken has Devin feeling things he never felt before. They both didn't realize how much they needed each other until they didn't have one another in their life. Thankfully, the universe came around and gave them to each other for life. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

I really enjoyed Devin and Laken's love story.
On her way to her parents cabin in the mountains for Christmas, Laken car breaks down and her phone is dead. She decides to get out a seek help and heat. She comes across a cabin with a handsome owner and his big dog.
Devin and his dog went to get away because his baby momma wouldn't let him see or spend time with his daughter Raven.
This wasn't your typical holiday book but it was oh so good. I loved everything about it and was sad that I finished so fast. I wish there was a sequel.

Shanel and Shay Davis
Y’all both did that with this book. It was definitely fire from the beginning to the end. I was so happy that Devin and Laken got back together I loved it. They were definitely meant to be together. I cried though. I was also happy that Devin was able to get his daughter back though that made me smile as well.

Love Affair
Can we get a wedding update soon? Calen didn't love Laken at all he just wanted her his arm when it was convenient for him. Devin is bae. A real man with a baby mama trying to make him suffer for what she did to him by keeping his daughter away from him and trying to get everything she could out of him. That finally backfired in her face. I am so glad that Devin and Laken found each other and now are a family. Wedding, wedding, wedding book please and thank you

A Christmas Story I needed to to
OMG where to start... yes it's a short read but as always Ms Davis always hit a home run. So sweet, unexpected, steamy, and down right dirty. But I love Laken & Devin. They both was missing something in their lives not knowing when or if they were ever going to get it or deserve it. This story gives you hope with a little Christmas miracle.

Sweet strangers to lovers Xmas romance
Loved Laken and Devin’s story from beginning to end. Even the year apart was good (although it felt like Laken was spinning her wheels while Devin was making life progress) but it all worked out in the end. Super sweet story and loved Rocky the adorable pit!

I loved every minute of this Christmas love story. I felt the love between Laken and Devin. She finally got rid of Calen. He was dead weight. I am also happy because she went and got her man. Such a great ending. Great Read!

I have read tons of urban xmas stories but this is by far my favorite…it was like a hallmark Christmas movie but with a little hood spin on it….shanel n shay did lovely this is my first time reading from both authors so I will def check out their previous books…so happy devin and lil shorty got what they needed…now this is a fairytale
