Osirium's End #1

Shards of Osiris

Rate this book
Rebecca St. James was born into a family of vampires. Her parents promised she'd live a normal life.

They were wrong.

Three years after she was turned, Rebecca is finally close to getting her life back on track. Her grades are improving, she's making friends, and there's even a boy at school who wants to date her. Two, in fact. But, just as things seem like they're perfect, she discovers that she's become a pawn in a war between two vampire courts: one in thrall to ancient vampire gods and the other rebelling against them. And now, one of the two courts has targeted her best friend Cassie. Rebecca, her friends, and both of the boys in her life will have to fight to keep Cassie safe and avoid the warring courts in Shards of Osiris.

Shards of Osiris is the first book of a vampire fantasy series pitting the daughter of two vampires against demons, monsters, and ancient deities. Failure could destroy her family, and even end the world, but Rebecca St James has no idea how she’ll assemble the power she needs to take on Isis and Osiris. Buy a copy today to find out.

Shards of Osiris took me by surprise. I was expecting the classic paranormal vampire novel, but I stumbled into something else so much better. Rebecca, the protagonist, is feisty, fair, and a heroine you want to root for. The prose itself is easy to read, and the right amount of funny without being intrusive.

I loved the progression of the plot, especially all the egyptian mythology present throughout the story. It's a lovely change from other fantasy novels I've read before. Also, look out for Cassie! She is an amaaazziinngggg character!

I will definitely be recommending this book to my friends, and I'm looking forward to another novel! Already bought the accompanying novelette, Codex of Serket.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This was a new take on urban fantasy. 2 vampires courts, egyptian mythology and a young vampire trying to figure out which side to trust. The characters are well fleshed out and the world building is done well. Though this is an interesting take on vampires, I had a hard time connecting to Rebecca for some reason. I really enjoyed her best friend Cassie and some of the other characters. Overall a nice read.

Rebecca is the fmc in this funny and page turner of a Paranormal read. As the name suggests we get some Egyptian mythology along with an interesting take on vampires. Characters were well developed and it had a good plot. I gave it 4* because there was a few things I found hard to follow or confusing.

Not bad, but not great

It had some great parts, but then it would just drag on to the point that I started skipping pages. I'm curious about what happens, but not enough to read the series. I might just read the last book.

Fun new vampire book

Fun new vampire series. Liked the characters and version of vampires. Solid read, like the cover. Will look out for the next book.
