Even as she pursued degrees in Textile Technology, Organizational Leadership and finally, Adult Education, Rhonda McKnight’s love for books and desire to write stories was always in the back of her mind and in the forefront of her heart. Rhonda loves reading and writing stories that touch the heart of women through complex plots and interesting characters in crisis. She writes from the comfort of her South Carolina home with black tea, potato chips and chocolate on hand. At her feet sits a snappy mixed breed dog. i started reading and could not put the book down. I read it on my way to work.(I travel on a commuter bus) On the train and when I got to work, did my morning ritual and pulled out my phone and continue reading at my desk until I finished the book.
Another good read by Rhonda McKnight! The story of Meisha Merriweather, and another rich handsome Bennett bachelor. These are opposites but they found a budding love story. She is almost dirt poor, and lives in a tiny house and underpaid. He on the other hand is wealthy, lives in a mansion and owns other property, and has made his millions as a software developer. But Meisha comes with a ship load of drama, and not even her own doing. Her independence and reliability are admirable attributes. Jackson Bennett much like the other Bennett men, fall in love pretty quickly. Once these Bennett men pick out a girl, she ain’t getting away! While Jackson appears recluse, and uninterested in finding his “person”, but upon meeting Ms. Meisha, his feelings begin to change. Shortly after, he starts to sweep her right off her feet.
Meisha and her sister Keisha obviously had a different upbringing with one sister with the maternal grandmother and the other with the paternal grandmother. Keisha didn’t have the same upbringing so she took it out on Meisha buy writing bad checks and using Meisha’s name and working as prostitute. God new better and helped Meisha overcome all what her sister did. Good for her and her love for Jackson.
Meisha and Jackson tried to deny their attraction to each other but couldn't! I love how they loved each other. Her grandmother was a praying woman! Her sister Keisha and his ex wife Delaney were a mess. Can't wait for Book 9 to come out!
I absolutely love everything about The Bennett’s! And this story is no exception! Meisha and Jackson are meant to be together. They just have to navigate towards that point and what a journey it is!! If you haven’t read this yet, well, you need to grab your copy now, relax and enjoy!! Rhonda McKnight…Kudos!! 💜💜
I've enjoyed reading all about the Bennetts and Ingrams.. this story had more feel good to it tackling low pay and resources for relatives raising children. I like many others have been in those shoes and appreciate the spotlight on a topic that's much needed.. inspirational and a wonderful rags to riches love story! Thank you Rhonda!
I enjoyed this book, and I appreciate the fun, especially in the form of singing. Again, the connection to the word was on point. I feel a bit slighted in this book because I feel like the whole drama with her twin left me wanting a different ending.... not that the ending wasn't perfect for Jackson and Miesha... just not Kiesha and her son.
Love this series, I loved both characters as they were both strong but caring towards each other and others. Lesson learned is you don’t always have to be hard. Let the people God put around you help. Look forward to more from the series.
So far, I have really enjoyed this series. The Bennett men are something else, but they know how to make you fall in love with them! I can hardly wait for book #9 in the Fall!!!
This series is exceptional reading! The characters show that the impossible is possible. This book and the series indicates that God in every facet of life is rewarding!
I totally understand that we should protect our family, but not if it’s causing us harm. I wish would have spoke up sooner. At the end she got what she deserved Jackson.
This story is awesome. To be in the situation Keisha was in due to her twin sisters actions, not many could recover. But in comes a Bennett, as in Jackson. The sitting Mayor. He is something and I'm here for it. BRAVO!
A beautiful love story and fun to read from beginning to end. I struggle with typos when reading a wonderful love story. I didn't expect them from Rhonda McKnight.
When Keisha and Jackson's name was mentioned in another book in series. I had to go back and read their story. What a roller coaster for Keisha, she was going through a lot, and it seems her sister didn't care. I really love Jackson for wanting help Meisha, he was a bit controlling at times. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book.
This was a great book from the beginning to the end…I love Jackson and Meisha story she had so much drama and he still cared for her and wanted to help her because he really liked Meisha. I’m glad she got past her ego and accepted the truth Jackson was a good man and really cared about her. I would recommend this book you will not be disappointed.
I love everything about the way Jackson and Meisha were there full selves every step of the journey; the vulnerable, raw, honest, and authentic expressions of themselves. Meisha's story was super relatable and I love how intentional Jackson is about his pursuit of her. This is a such a good read and I believe many black women can relate to Meisha and her journey. One of my fave couples of the Bennett series. Onto Book #9
