A missing emerald necklace thought to be cursed. A few murdered mobsters. The two exes who may hold the key to it all. The timing couldn’t be worse for Hattie Beauregard-Ryan and her niece, Harper Ryan, who are just getting back from a harrowing trip to New Orleans. Before they even pull into the driveway, trouble is brewing.

Harper has been accused of stealing an infamous emerald necklace and word has reached far and wide that the Ryan women are hiding it. All sorts of unsavory characters descend on the town to find it and claim the reward. Someone is even willing to kill to get to it first. Harper must use her magical gifts to uncover who is putting her and Hattie in harm’s way – all the while searching for the necklace and dealing with her ex-husband who wants her back. It all spells trouble for Harper’s new life.

Meanwhile, Hattie must deal with the angry ghost of a dead mobster who refuses to leave until she finds his killer. If that wasn’t hard enough, Hattie must protect them all from the witch who cursed the necklace and is bent on revenge. Her powers are far stronger than any Hattie has seen both living and dead. Can the Ryan women use their powers to find the necklace and catch a killer before the curse claims another victim?

Harper and Hattie - and Jackson - are back! Literally - home from New Orleans to find a mystery sitting on their doorsteps! Both exes are in town and that can only mean trouble! Ms Jones never disappoints with this series, I absolutely love the characters - in fact, I wish I had an Aunt Hattie in my corner!

Returning from their New Orleans adventure to the bad news that "someone" is after "something" that they believe Harper has, means that the intrepid investigators get no rest before they're flung into another - potentially deadly - adventure. A page-turner from the very first page, Book Five will keep you on your toes. I never have much luck as an armchair sleuth, and the resolution for this one is no different; I'm still shaking my head. I can highly recommend!

This was a great story. It begins with Hattie and Harper returning from New Orleans when Jackson's, Harper's boyfriend, ex and later on Harper's ex show up. They believe that Harper is in possession of a necklace that she stole from her husband.

Harper's ex has come looking for it because his mob boss wants it. He supposedly paid to have it stolen. Between the two of them, there were a lot more people looking as well. It was believed to be in the house that Hattie owned and where Harper was now living.

To learn what sort of spells Hattie did to clear this mess up and what happened in addition to what was so special for this necklace, then you need to read the book. It is quite entertaining.

Harper and Jackson’s past relationships come back to potentially threaten their current life together. Harper’s ex husband Nick and Jackson’s ex wife Cora have both come to Little Rock claiming that they want them back. How did Nick and Cora connect and decide to team up and what do dead mobsters and a stolen necklace and stolen diamonds have to do with their plan? Throw in a curse and the witch that goes with it and Harper and Hattie have their hands full trying to solve the mystery.

This is a very well written series with unique and interesting characters. The stories always hold your attention till the very end. I particularly like how Harper and Hattie’s paranormal gifts are woven into the investigations.

In this book Stacy Jones does it again. Harper and Hattie are in the middle of an investigation involving missing jewels, murder, Harper's and Jackson's exes and a mob family. Harper decides it's time to think about using spells and finds out more about her abilities then she once knew. Her and Jackson are tested in their relationship and people and being picked off left and right. For once I guessed the culprit before the book ended but still this was an amazing, fun, and very entertaining book!

Life gets complicated for Harper when her ex-husband and Jackson's ex-wife turn up in town - both making pitches to win back the original spouses.

Adding to Harper's problems are the criminal types wanting to recover a stolen cursed necklace. Who is killing them and where is the necklace?

Both Harper and Hattie use their special magic skills to resolve all the strange and dangerous happenings.

Harper and Hattie have a hard time finding peace in Little Rock! Harper and Jackson are finding their stride as a couple, but their exes are stirring up trouble. To top it off, there are dead bodies found. Not a coincidence! Danger and intrigue has followed the unwelcomed straight to Hattie’s shop. Find out how a lengthy curse is broken. This series is full of mystery that only magical gifts can solve. Don’t miss a single one!

Nick and Cora

come to town. Each wants their ex-spouse back. Nick also accuses Harper of stealing an Emerald necklace. And the fun begins. There are three dead bodies, the usual helpful ghosts, a despicable witch and the side characters. The story isn't quite as interesting to me as some of the others bc Cora and Nick are tedious and the mob would not be so kind. But I enjoy the core group in the series.

Love the mystery, love the characters!

Our main characters are back for a new mystery. Hattie, Harper, Jackson, Dan, Sarah and Detective Granger are fun. Without giving anything away, I love how they are evolving. Iggy makes an all-too-short appearance. I’m loving Charlie! Our new ghost, Delia, is fascinating, and maybe we needed a bit more of her. The mystery is really good. As always, I really enjoyed The Witches Code.

Ms. Jones has such an imaginative mind. This book in the series of full of intrigue & so much going on. There is the ex-husband & the ex-wife of her boyfriend, the mobster wanting his killer found & people looking for a cursed necklace. How in the world will Hattie & Harper figure things out? Well, they do but the story is not done yet. I can't wait for the next book.

I only give the books 4 stars because I really don't like one of the main characters, Harper. She makes her act so stupid and over reactive in the dumbest ways. It actually gets on my nerves. But I started the series and figured I would finish despite there being 8 of them. The books aren't that long and I read pretty fast.
