“I hurt myself for you. You hurt yourself for me. I’m not saying it makes us even, but I’m pretty sure it does make us a match made in Hell.”

“I hurt myself for you. You hurt yourself for me. I’m not saying it makes us even, but I’m pretty sure it does make us a match made in hell.”

To be honest, I believe I have a really high tolerance of disturbing graphics and nothing much would shock me. However, Heinous stunned me speechless and pushed me beyond my limit in a not so nice way.
I applauded the author’s courage to deliver her story without holding back in the gore and darkness. I knew a lot of readers really appreciated the extreme graphic details. However, I found myself cringing and wincing a lot. I could not connect with the writing and I didn’t know where the story was leading me. I was uncertain if I would land in a safe place. The worry and unsettling feelings hindered my enjoyment of the book and the connection to the characters.
Truly, I really appreciate the author’s effort and time in publishing a book. I believe that it has its own audience who would enjoy it. Regretfully, it was a really difficult read for me.
I volunteered to provide an honest review of an advance complimentary copy of this book.
