So I waited until I finished another series I was reading before starting this book. I wanted to savor the book, but as usual with a Shawn Inmon book, I couldn't put it down very easily. I have loved all the Middle Falls books from Mr. Inmon, but I have to say Alex Hawk, and the world of Kragdon-ah have really been wonderful. This adventure has made me kinda sad, as I can see Alex (Manda-ak) is getting older, and the leadership is going towards his two daughters. I want the adventures to continue, but do not want to see the day Alex and his 300 pound dog depart the way of the world. I would like more adventures in Kragdon-ah Mr. Inmon, can't you please find a way to travel back and bring more of these wonderful tales of a 21st century family that has made a difference without "stama" to these wonderful Tribes of Kragdon-ah. Pretty Please...................Just keep all your adventures coming, even the newest coming out later this year, looking forward to more excellent reading.

This one is quite different from the rest of the books in this series as Alex Hawk winds down. The adventure part is still there, but Alex is more reflective and passive than in previous stories. Still a great story, but it feels more than an ending than just another book in the series.

Great series

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I'm not usually very big on time travel stories but this one is pretty unique in a lot of ways. The whole series was very enjoyable.

I'm sorry to leave Alex Hawk. Like Inmon says at the end, I think he's left everyone in a very good place. And one line in the book said something like "Alex Hawk was a warrior, not a diplomat." Not an exact quote but that's the gist of it - if there aren't more wars to fight, Alex won't be the best person to get the job done. And let's face it, diplomacy is far less exciting than battle.

So thank you Johnathan McClain for the excellent adaptation to audio, it was spectacular and I'm so glad I listened to this series.

I always enjoy it when Shawn Inmon gives us another adventure in the land of Kragdon-ah. This is listed as a time travel adventure but no one really travels in time in this book. I would more classify it as the continuing adventures of a person who traveled in time a few times but is now living permanently in the time he initially traveled to. So maybe a man out of time story? Regardless if you enjoy fantasy or time travel stories you should read the first book in this series and if you do you will get hooked and read them all. Unfortunately our hero is getting up there in age so his ability to do physical fighting and things like that is limited and I think the author is wanting to retire the character.

Shawn if you read this review might I suggest further adventures of his daughters now as leaders in Kragdon-ah. Or we now have another person with a big dog who could go on her own adventures as well. I assure you that your fans would love stories from the perspective of some of these other characters. I also realize you only have so many hours in a day and since you seem to write a new book every month you might not have time to do that. You do need to occasionally take a break!

Love this series!

This is the final (maybe, you never know) book in a fascinating series. The character Alex is such a strong model of what a leader should look like. And, of course, you don’t get much better than his dog. Loved it, and every book gets better.

Hey fellow time traveler readers, here is the next Alex Hawk Time Travel series installment.

"Tribes of Kragdon-ah," the seventh installment in Shawn Inmon's Alex Hawk Time Travel Adventure series, is a testament to the author's ability to maintain a high level of excitement and engagement deep into the series. This book continues the saga of Alex Hawk, a hero in the land of Kragdon-ah, where he has chosen to remain with his daughters, Amy and Sanda.
The narrative picks up with an ambitious effort to unite the disparate tribes of Kragdon-ah, a task that finds Alex's daughters embarking on a perilous journey across the land. Their almost capture by an old enemy sets the stage for a thrilling rescue mission, propelling Alex into a new adventure filled with fantastic creatures, formidable foes, and unexpected allies.

Inmon's skillful storytelling is on full display as he weaves a tale that is not just about the physical journey across Kragdon-ah but also about the emotional bonds between family members and the lengths one will go to protect loved ones. The world-building is immersive, with each tribe and creature adding depth and color to the rich tapestry of the Kragdon-ah universe. Fans of the series appreciate the consistent quality of Inmon's writing and the way he manages to introduce new elements while staying true to the established lore of the series. "Tribes of Kragdon-ah" is a compelling read that combines the best elements of time travel, science fiction, and fantasy. It's a story that will satisfy long-time fans and intrigue new readers, solidifying the Alex Hawk series as a standout in the genre. Whether you're drawn to the adventure, the intricate world, or the heartfelt character dynamics, pick up your copy today, as this book is sure to provide an enjoyable and memorable experience.

I started this on Audible from their Plus catalog. I had a tough time warming up to the MC because of several choices he made. I felt like no matter how much he brow-beat himself for it the truth was that he DID abandon his daughter even were it not intentionally. His abandonment was the direct result of choices he made to satisfy his curiosity over his commitments. It made it very hard for me to warm up to him. I did, eventually, and in time he even redeemed himself in regard to said abandonment of daughter. But I was a very hard sell.

That said in terms of portal fantasy this entire series is totally bomb. I loved it and wish there were more of it.

Bulk input day.

Bit slower but Kragdon-ah is progressing

Have to admit I put this book down for several weeks because the story was quite slow early on but the rocky path to a unified government in Kragdon-ah was very interesting. The various enemies, pursuers, wars and even just the physical journey to the city that was promoting the unified government was engrossing. Overall a very interesting read.

Fantastic series!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this series when I began. I love time travel stories, so I thought I would give it a go. I have enjoyed reading this entire series. It is full of action and adventure. It is very well written; it is easy to become part of that world, and feel like you know all the characters personally.

Book 7 of 9 of the Kragdon-ah series!

As I talked about in my last review, I love Shawn’s writing and feel like I wouldn’t be reading this series if not for him. I read a lot of books and revisit this world as time allows, but I generally will forget which character is which. There are a lot of characters here with very similar names and it’s difficult to hold the plot together. I felt the ending of this one was very strong, and I loved the Altor reference as well. Good stuff!

Wonderful Story. Again!

This series continues to satisfy with unforgettable characters and adventure throughout. Shawn Inmon has created an alternative world reminiscent of those created by Tolkien, Lewis, and Donaldson. I will certainly revisit Alex and his world again and again.
A++ Bravo!

A full-circle ending!

I read this one slowly, not quite willing to speed through for answers, not ready to say goodbye to the mighty Manta-ak. What an amazing adventure. Thank you, Shawn Inmon. Truly one of my favorite series of all time.

To me, a 3* is what I refer to as a good, fun, “filler” book to be read between the ones that emotionally destroy you or nonfiction that breaks your brain.

in for a penny

This is a solid contribution to the saga, and one which does not disappoint. In fact there are some elements every true Inmon fan absolutely has to read… so don’t even think about skipping this instalment or you’ll be sorry later ;)
