Just when you thought you knew

A deeply emotional, rich plot and her trademark angst, suspense, and cross world, I was captivated. I loved the familiar Black Falls High favorites: Enzo, Cole, Fox, and Ethan with a new addition, maybe … Anson as they take on the challenges of their mafia lifestyle. Drugs, foes, and feelings, I loved how their individual stories, desires, and complications played out in such unexpected ways.

The character development was extraordinary, not just for the clear distinction in personalities and behaviors, but also from their growth and change demonstrated to this point in their lives. They’re clearly no longer high schoolers. They are a major mafia family, and their new responsibilities are shaping all aspects of their new lives. Of course, what hasn’t changed is the love for Rosie, and with it, the greater challenges of keeping everyone safe. But there are secrets….

With its progressive pace and multiple first person points of view, this book was as complex as it was spiiicy. 😮‍💨 5/5

One of the best in this series so far. This author doesn’t miss. So good! Can’t wait for the next book.

Omfg, this book was SO FLIPPING GOOD. Silver lining of my son having a cold and being glued to my chest means *I* get to be glued to my kindle. Holy hell, I've read all the teasers on discord so I knew this was going to be an angsty and emotional ride, but it was for more angstier and emotional than I imagined it would be. And I loved every painful minute of it!

Let's get this out of the way though: that guy you were all on the fence about?! HES AMAZING. I love him. Honestly I was swooning for him in the first book, but the way he listened to Rosie, doesn't coddle her and gives her what she needs as well she wants? Oof. That's the spot, babes.

Cole: maaaan, I feel for him. On one hand he's engraind himself as basically enzos enforcer, (ahh, alliteration!) and though he has a knack for this world, he still has a heart. And he knows he's going to lose his Rosebud if he stays in this life, but he made a Vow. It's just a question of who's he will break when push comes to shove. Even though he made me mad at times, I still wanted go hug him. There's a reason he's my favorite horsemen.

Fox: there wasn't much Foxy time here, but you definitely felt the rift between him and Rosie. He had a completely different life envisioned for himself and her, so he's coming to terms with that never happening, and seeing her flourish under someone that's not him or his brothers. He knows a choice will be made, he's just not sure what will be left of them when they do it.

E: Our boy here keeps getting the end of the sugar stick, and my heart just went out for him. He's not cut out for this world at all, and seeing him spiral made me physically ache. I'm glad he and Rosie were able to come to an understanding, but man did it hurt.

Enzo: Sighs. I don't have a whole lot of love for Enzo at the moment. He loves Rosalie to the point of Madness, and it's making him do monstrous things. In attempts to keep her safe and close to them all with his actions, his words just push her further and further away. I hated what he was doing even when I understood why he was doing it.. but that phone call at the end broke my damn heart. If he ends up going through that agreement with she who will not be named (who keeps popping up EVERYWHERE. Ugh. I'd call her the devil, but that's just an insult to Satan.) there is going to be so many tears shed. And those twisty twists of breadcrumbs? Good LORD kgs mind is insanely brilliant!!

As for our Rosie, she grew so much in this book. She's tired of the men she loves changing in front of her, she's tired of this life and all the lies, but mostly she wants out of this gilded cage. She really stood up for herself here and made herself be heard. I love the confidence she has in herself now, and I love that she's making her dreams come to reality. I just know my heart is going to break when it all comes crashing down though.

There was SO much happening here, and all of it was so intensely amazing! I know we're only two books into a now four book series, but this is the best one yet. I cannot wait for more!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

The story is ok. I did not like Rosalie at all in this book. She was a wet dish cloth just letting them use her as a sex doll without ever demanding answers. I know the warning from the author states you have to be able to detach from the BS that happens and remove it from a reality situation but, to take Rosalie from the survivor she is, to someone who just gets abused by them all is ridiculous. Fox is the only one who deserves her. He should absolutely take her and run. I’m along for the ride but, truthfully, this book has almost ruined it for me.

I swear each book gets better and better! KG Reuss is an amazing storyteller…I swear I feel 100% immersed in the Horsemen’s world!

This book picks up where May We Rise ended. Enzo, Cole, Fix and Ethan are trying to find their way in the world they are in while keeping Rosalie safe with the help from Anson.

You really see the struggles everyone is having as well as the love they have for each other. It’s heartbreaking at times and you want to throw your book or kindle while yelling at everyone to get it together! And Anson…lord I’m beginning to like him a lot.

Also it to see their side of what went down with the Kings was everything I didn’t know needed

Can I just say the spice in this book 🥵🥵🥵 get you a towel or something cause damn!

3.5 stars. This instalment seemed to lose its way a little… though I suppose that reflected what was happening for the MCs, as they tried - and more often than not, failed, to juggle mafia demands with college and relationships. Things got murky in this one, and happiness seemed a farfetched goal for all.

Had me wanting an Anson and Rosalie romance

I gave it a 4 because I love these characters and the authors writing style. These books are also well edited (I typically only spot a few minor errors in her books, which is a huge plus for someone who is easily distracted when there are an abundance of errors). I didn't put the book down until I was done, so it definitely had me captivated and wanting more.

I am loving Anson's character and honestly would like to see him join the rest of the guys in a relationship with Rosalie. He honestly treated her better than the other guys did. He truly listened to her and wanted her to be happy. This was very much an Anson and Rosalie story, with arguements and spicy scenes thrown in for the other guys. I am definitely not a fan of the new chick introduced in this one (but I think that was definitely the point of her character). And really hated what happened to Ethan... the poor guy needs a break.

There were several personal preference things that I wanted to point out, it wasn't a writing/author issue, but definitely affected my reading enjoyment which is why I took off a star. I don't usually take stars off for my personal preference things, but a few of these were just harder to ignore.

I was not a fan of Enzo in this book, especially after one particular incident where he knew he was hurting her and he just didn't care. It wouldn't have been so awful if she had spoken up about it, but she literally allowed most of them to use her however they wanted even if it wasn't what she wanted, even if she wasn't necessarily enjoying it. I get that she is more submissive in the bedroom with the guys, but this time it felt more like she was their blowup doll to use whenever they wanted and that giving her orgasms would fix their lack of attention the rest of the time.

This book very much revolved around the spicy scenes, and I usually don't mind those, but this time it literally felt like they either argued or had sex. There has always been a good balance between actual relationship building and spice with these characters, but I just felt something was missing this time. I didn't get that sense of closeness that they have had before (and yes I realize that was done with a purpose as the next books will have some major upsets within the group and she also needed to establish that bond with Anson, but it just felt off because it is such a different dynamic from the original series). There were a few of the spicy scenes I think could have been cut because a few of them got a little repetitive for me and maybe that would have helped make it seem a little more balanced. I did love the spicy cake scene and won't look at chocolate cake the same ever again.

I'm anxious to see how their story will continue to unfold in the next few books.

What the F###! I have to wait a YEAR for the next book. Come on. Why??!! This is exactly why I try to not read unfinished series. I already forgot things between book 1 and this book 2. Now I have to wait a year for book 3. I know it is already written. We all know where this is going....tragedy before the HEA....just publish it already! Augh!

You know when you come to cross with good writing. Throughout pages, you can feel their emotion. Both being angry at them and sad with them. Even though you can see their actions and cannot understand their reasons you stand by their side.

There are occasions when you are aware of their motivations and the outcome yet choose to read nonetheless. The reason is good writing.

The one thing I can say with certainty after reading KG's books. I am going on a roller coaster of emotions.

I swear I never highlight a book this extensively. Every scene I read had me searching for breadcrumbs. I've already spotted a lot of foreshadowing and am constantly thinking about the Double Dare You spoilers. It was a heartbreakingly thrilling process for me.

Let's talk about spicy scenes. All the books I read from KG. I swear this one takes the cake ;)It was thrilling, adventurous, and centered around their love for one another. Also, my favorite mad boy makes some interesting choices.

As a writer, I do appreciate and understand the decision making, but as a reader, I am mad as hell about it. We encounter some disliked and liked characters from Bolten series. Which always exciting.

This book is essentially about the growing pains of developing characters and a maturing relationship. You can see them battling over choices they can't undo. Decisions that have a major effect on for a lot of people.

However, I believe that the author is clearly speaking to us through some of the characters. anchoring us. I wish I can say them without spoiling them for you. But as KG says, "trust the process." We are in the capable hands of a trustworthy author.

A book's ending makes me nervous and on edge. While everything is changing, is it for the better?

In the last scene, all I think about is 'don't do it, man. Don't even think about it.'

This book starts exactly where May We Rise had ended and we see Enzo, Fox, Cole, and Ethan figuring out what to do. There were so many highs and lows for these characters in this one and just so much angst.

I love that KG always keeps the relationship aspect realistic in the sense that there are going to be good days and bad days, arguments, sweet moments, and it’s not always going to be perfect. We get the reminder that Rosalie and the guys are still just young and dumb and in college; some of them trying to pursue dreams, others just trying to make it to the next day, and all of them trying to cope with this mafia lifestyle that none of them seem keen on wanting. All this while trying to maintain their own happiness and their relationship.

We also get a lot more important details and information regarding the bigger picture and what’s to come for these characters. Things we’ve seen in Kings of Bolten are now seen from the horsemen’s pov. We get a few more pieces of the puzzle that we’ve all been trying to piece together. There’s also a lot more with A$$-Hat in this book… we get more backstory and I will admit I like him more than I did in the first book… but I still only want him as a friend for Rosalie and nothing more. I think she needs him as a friend more than a lover.

Overall, this was definitely an emotional rollercoaster! These characters are growing up more in each book and we’re seeing the changes happening for better or worse. This was probably the nicest cliffhanger KG has ever graced us with as well lol I can’t wait for the next book to see what’s next for Rosalie, Ethan, Fox, Cole, and Enzo!

Hold onto your seats

Prepare to hurt - again. While this is the second book of the series, we’re now six books in with Rosie and her Horsemen. In this book we see the group moving and growing in separate directions, stretching their bond to the point of snapping. If no one is willing to bend and change course, it’s hard to see a future for them all together.

One of the things I love about these books is the relationships between the Horsemen. These men love each other more than life itself and you see it when they joke around and when they fight. They have grown and developed as individuals and as a group - their lives are more dangerous now, but they still know how to have fun together.

I’m heartsore thinking about the possibilities Rosie and her guys face. I know there’s probably a lot of pain in their futures, but I can’t wait to read about it - I guess I like the torment.

This story is the fight of their life. Hard decisions are made, and heartache is emotional hard for the horsemen and Rosie. Their is so many challenges that are being made making secrets dark and intense. This is a hard read that will take a toll on heartache and anxiety for what will happen next. Their is so much emotional issues. Beat is Cole keeps his banner going and will have you laughing for the lightness of his witty comebacks.

What?

This is the first time I think I have left KG a 2 star review, but this book felt so off to me. I was really looking forward to reading this book after reading the teasers that KG had been dropping since May We Rise, but this book didn’t feel or read as a KG book.

Every chapter read the same to me or felt heavily repetitive to the point where I struggled to finish reading this book. This book wasn’t nearly as dark as her other books and definitely left a lot to be desired. To the point where even the sex read kind of tame. Though, I think Ethan is the only character that really had some growth in this book. It was nice to see the timeline of this finally matching up to Kings of Bolten.

I’ll most likely read the third book because I love Anson and I need to see the story play out, but I hope the next book has more depth to it. I love KG’s books, but this book just didn’t feel like a KG book.

As We Fight (Mayfair University, #2) was written by K.G. Reuss and is a part of a spin-off series; read In Ruins if you would like to start from the beginning (highly encouraged).

This book picks up right where May We Rise left off during the shooting. We find out that Rosalie and the guys are alright except for some wounds here and there and a panic attack. A lot happens in this book, and we find out some answers to questions that I didn't know were asked like Anson's origins. This book lines up with the actions that took place in Dirty Little Secrets Kings of Bolten spinoff. The guys are busy with school and working in Enzo's family mafia business so Rosalie feels left out and they're all drifting apart. The guys realize that they can't keep her safe 24/7 so they enlist Anson to take over where they can't. The guys leave Rosalie out of a lot of serious decisions and don't tell her about what they've been doing with the mafia. Rosalie is on lockdown where she can only go to school and home with a chaperone at all times because of the mess the guys are in.

Something to remember, though these characters dove head first into some adult stickiness, they're all 18-19 years old or maybe a year older than this. Their decision making skills are just as terrible as how they handle their relationship with Rosalie. Rosalie is living with 4 alpha males so being able to speak up for herself is kind of lost though she tries. They don't listen to her. They think they know what's best, but she's drifting further away from them. I kept screaming at the book for her to leave, but I know she won't. She loves them too damn much and has gotten through a lot of hell with them. They're bonded and that can't easily be broken. Anson is butting in and being the friend for her that she needs (I may not hate him as much in this book). 4 things that annoyed me: 1) The repetition of the guys discussing how they were treating Rosalie in regards to not spending enough time with her and putting her life in danger; 2) How the guys used Rosalie when they were feeling too much (at times they would hurt her to the point of making her cry during intercourse); 3) The amount of times Anson mentioned that he ran the streets (it reminded me of an old man who kept reminiscing about his glory days and wanted to stay relevant); 4) The amount of times all the male characters referred to Rosalie as a perfect girl!! This gave me the ick. Rosalie is FARRRR from perfect in fact she's too damn nice and forgiving to these assholes.

I love K.G. Reuss' books and her writing is chef's kiss. I gave this book 3 stars because the character's inner dilemmas were repetitive with hopeful solutions that seemed to get pushed to the back while the dilemmas were reintroduced throughout the book.

I do recommend this book!

Sometimes I wish I was the kind of person capable of DNFing mid-series. Unfortunately, I am not. Reading Black Falls High, I was frustrated by the ineptitude of the MMCs, yet still found all of them likeable.
In Mayfair University, all traces of likeability have vanished. These guys are THE WORST, and I've never rooted so hard for a FMC to dump her entire harem and get together with the rival love interest.
Ethan - I started to type that he used to be my favorite, but no... Even as a former addict manufacturing designer drugs (the same drugs that prevented Bianca from defending herself against Tate for over a month) he's still the best of the bunch. At the very least, he's capable of putting himself in other people's shoes and understanding how they feel. He still puts in a token effort at supporting Rosalie's dreams and independence, but it's not nearly enough.
Cole - The best thing I can say about him is that he continues to make me laugh with his batshit crazy dialogue.
Fox - I loved BFH Fox. But Mayfair Fox is jealous, mean, and constantly angry. I'm midway through the third book and I'm not sure he's had a single moment of likeability. In the rare moments when he isn't snarling and marking his territory, he's sullen and passive-aggressive.
Enzo - Practically unrecognizable from the laid-back guy in BFH. Vindictive and cruel. He takes out his anger on Rosalie by sexually abusing her on multiple occasions, refusing to stop when she sobs and tells him he's hurting her. He never once considers abandoning the mob life, instead, forcing everyone else to abandon their hopes and dreams to accommodate his lifestyle. The worst part is...he's intelligent and self-aware. He recognizes exactly how despicable and fucked up he's acting, yet shrugs it off as if there's nothing he can do. He never sacrifices. He never atones. He just gets worse and worse. I can't imagine him finding a true redemption.

I'm separating Anson from the others since he's only a friend. This guy is pretty much the only thing making this series bearable. He's everything the other guys are not. He prioritizes Rosalie a thousand times more than her actual boyfriends do. He supports her dreams through thick and thin, inspires her to reach higher, makes sacrifices for her. He went head to head with Enzo and walked out looking like the better man. The most frustrating thing about this series is how Rosalie hasn't ditched all those psychos and thrown herself at Anson.

I think the only thing that could save this series would be for the guys to finally prioritize Rosalie's happiness and safety over drugs and mob power and to stage an ugly public breakup with her. Some time apart would allow them to deal with their enemies while she pursues her dreams and finally gives Anson a chance. He just doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would prevent her from going back to the guys at a later date, as long as she took him with her. But I'd still need to see some serious groveling from the OG horsemen.

Ok, this one can't be over yet. I. Need. More. If you are this far in, you are probably aware of Bolton and Chapel Crest. If not, dive in. The crossover worlds are fun to disect and to guess what is coming. I have a feeling none of us are prepared.

description

This installment resonated with me far more than May We Rise. I felt much more engaged with the current events unfolding in the story.
As We Fight maintained a quicker pace, and once again, the use of multiple first-person perspectives enriched the development of both the characters and the narrative.

Cole has effectively positioned himself as Enzo's right-hand man and Enforcer. His integrity and commitment to his word are qualities I admire about him. He senses deep down that remaining in this life might cost him Rosalie, yet he has made a vow and given his word to Enzo. In the end, it raises the issue of whose heart and promise he will ultimately betray when faced with tough choices. I genuinely hope he remains faithful to his commitment to Enzo.... I laughed so hard at his "What I got the kindle app" scene...

E... is evidently not suited for this environment. However, I appreciated how he reclaimed his autonomy towards the end, realizing he had control over his own destiny. That scene was powerful, and I was thoroughly impressed by how K.G. portrayed it with such elegance.

Fox... also tugged at my heartstrings in this book as I marveled at his unexpected growth in darkness. He envisioned an entirely different future for himself and Rosalie, and he now understands that this dream is fading away.

My beloved Enzo... the phone call with his father nearly brought tears to my eyes. I appreciate how K.G. captures the complexities of the mafia world, where leaders have to build emotional walls, yet the bond of love between the De Luca father and son is portrayed with perfection.
The affection they both share for Rosalie is utterly heartwarming
.

I seriously wish for Vander Veer's downfall because I truly couldn’t bear to continue reading if she ends up with Enzo. My disdain for her character is profound. K.G. Reuss possesses an incredible talent to evoke such strong emotions toward a fictional character!

I am still enamored with discovering all the connections among characters we've encountered in different series, as well as those that will emerge in future ones. I began with The Boys of Chapel Crest without being aware of the broader Chaos Universe, which led me to backtrack to the very beginning with the Black Falls High Series, following the suggested reading chronology. I must confess that reading in this order, rather than by series, it has proven to be one of the most exhilarating experiences I have ever had.

O.M.G…I am in tears. Ok. I think I can do this. As We Fight is filled with so much drama and angst but also with so many feels along with lots of heat!! I have read Kings of Bolton, Black Falls High, and the related to Mayfair University Duet, and I just know there is heartbreak coming. I am obsessed with finding out when and how it happens. K.G. Reuss has all of her series and books crossover and I love that but when I know that a lot of the books in other series hint of a heart breaking tragedy happening it make me want so much more! I am like most people in this age of instant gratification of wanting to know sooner rather than later. I know that is not possible so I will just implore K.G. Reuss to please write just a little fast to put us poor readers out of our misery. I just know that once we get to the bad parts sooner or later their has to be some semblance of an HEA. K.G. has quickly become a favorite of mine and it’s for the way she absolutely draws you in and make it soo soo hard to put any of her books down. I have been up all night reading As We Fight. I started in the morning before work and I was glad I only had to work half day as I was distracted and so so badly wanted to get home to finish reading it. It took me most of the night but I am so glad I did. I can’t wait for On The Edge and When We Fall to come out so I can find out what happens and then I can get to The Horsemen of Ruin series were I can only hope things will get better and we can finally have a HEA for Rosalie and the Horsemen. I know things will probably get worst before they can get better so 🤞🏽🙏🏼. So many more books to read to reach the HEA in the series for Rosalie and The Horsemen. Back to As We Fight…it will be a rocky ride and I highly suggest if this is your first book you have come across from K.G. that you read them in the suggested order to get the bigger picture of the worlds K.G. has created and how they all connect in some way. Some connect in small ways and some in more specific ways and I can guaranty that readers will not be disappointed in any way with K.G.’s books. If you haven’t read Black Falls High and the Kings of Bolten then I highly suggest you do while we all wait for On The Edge to come out. I highly recommend As We Fight (only after reading As We Rise), The Mayfair University series, and the books related to Mayfair Duet, and K.G. Reuss as an author. Happy Reading!!

This series has my heart, this and the one before. Deeply emotional, and a complex plot that leaves you obsessed. This series has been my comfort series for some oddly satisfying reason.

I am so excited that the author has continued the series, and I'm bummed I have to wait for the following books. This series makes you feel like you haven't gotten enough, it also has great smut. It
still continues to be one of my favorite revers harem reads.

Although I love the series, and you catch me rooting for the boys. In this book, however, there were times I thought she should go to Anson. Mr "Archangel". Although I love all the boys, it felt like they kept pushing her away, and every time she would express how she felt they would distract her. To me, it seemed like they were manipulating her in a way, so she wouldn't worry or suspect anything. Leaving her to doubt herself. Although they had good intentions, they don't want Rosalie to know the dark and twisted parts, but maybe they shouldn't keep doing dark things. They literally kidnapped and drugged a girl, she was literally drugged and nearly raped. That doesn't sit right a little for me.

It was almost sad how Rose and Anson were closer than the boys for a while. How he was her rock, her safe place. Sadly, yes I want her with the boys, I caught myself wishing she would follow her dreams with Anson. He promised to help her reach her dreams and it felt like the boys, at least Enzo and Cole, were going deeper into the life that would prevent her from reaching them.
Yet, they managed to talk it out. Hopefully, they continue to talk it out with her. Not keeping her in the dark.

But nonetheless, the book was amazing.

But the boys...
Cole and Enzo were their own dark and twisted selves, and a little delicious. lmao. They did go a bit far, but you caught yourself liking them anyway.
Fox, Mr. long-time best friend was sweet and I loved him too. His character felt distant for a little while in the book with his busy and hectic schedule. Although I absolutely loved him and Rosie.
Ethan, the broken sweetheart. I love him and Rosalie and their interactions.
All the boys bring their own thing, that makes you obsessed.

Anson.. oohhh. Y'all have to read it, I have spoiled it a little too much. He's a good friend to Rosalie.

I love the series and will continue to read it as they come out.

Things you will need before starting this book:
A Pillow- so you can either throw it or scream into it
Beverage of Choice- Wine, Beer or Diet Coke- you will be thirsty and craving libations by the end
Tissues- crying will occur for several different reasons 😉

The highly anticipated Book 2 of Mayfair University has arrived. We continue on this journey with our Horsemen and Rosalie. Their world has imploded and no one can see clearly what to do or what not to do but the one constant in these alpha males world is their love for Rosalie. She makes everything better. She is their person and they will never let her willingly be hurt or harmed. However, their world doesn't allow for such promises and there will be tough decisions to be made that may destroy them all.

Rosalie loves her men. She cares for each of them in her own way and they in return. She never wants to be without them but she isn't sure if she can handle everything that has been happening. She also hates being kept in the dark and the secrets are killing her resolve and slowly making her question everything she never thought she would ever with her men. She knows that Cole, Ethan, Fox, and Enzo love her as much as she loves them and their need to all consume her is apparent throughout the very sexy and sinfully delicious scenes of their commitment to her and each other. That has never been a question but what happens when you can see your life in a different light/viewpoint from someone else that you trust and care for? What then? How do you decide when nothing is how you imaged? How can you choose when they are all you want but is it enough?

Be prepared because this is a wild and dangerous ride back into the world of the Horsemen and their Rosalie. There are many hard decisions discussed throughout the book and we get a better understanding of our sweet Rosalie but there are still so many dangers lurking and the Horsemen need to make impossible decisions to keep everyone they love safe. As always, K.G. Reuss has blown our minds, produced happy/sad tears, broke our hearts, and presented us with high anticipation for Book 3 to see where are angsty but oh so beautiful horsemen go from here! Happy Reading!!!

So much angst!
This book is part of a series and follows the same characters from the Black Falls High series, who are now in college. Therefore, if you haven’t read that series, I’d suggest you pick up those books first before jumping into this one. Otherwise, you won’t understand what’s going on. Also, it will give you the full insight of the relationships dynamics, the side characters, and the info given from their past.

Additionally, I would suggest reading the Kings of Bolter series as well, as Mayfair and KOB happens in the same timeline and world, and they connect in this book. If you read KOB first you’ll understand the references, enemies, alliances etc. You technically don’t have to, but I strongly suggest it. Also, since in this book both series connect, if you happened to read Deadly Little Promises first, you get to see those events on the eyes of the horsemen which is really freaking cool.

That being said… there is a bunch of angst in this book!! The turmoil these characters go through on a day to day is heartbreaking. A specific character I kinda hated in Book1 I now LOOVVE since we got more on his character and his POV . I kind of know how this duet ends because we read about it in Double Dare You from Rosalie’s bff POV, but the how we are getting there is hurting my soul. If you’ve read KG Reuss’ stories before, you know she makes it hurt in the process, but we always end up with the happy ending! So enjoy the ride and have faith these beautiful characters will end up with their HEA.

If you are up to date on KOB there won’t be that much of a cliffhanger in this book since we already get glimpses of what happens. But that last chapter will break your heart to a million pieces.

I can’t get enough of being back in the horsemen’s world with their queen, Rosalie. But man oh man was this book full of angst and emotions to the highest volume! I was here for every heartbreakingly painful moment and cried way too many tears, but K.G. is just that brilliant of a writer to have the culpability to pull these reactions from me, like no other author can.

It’s evident Rosie loves her men in her own various ways, just as they do for her. But can love be enough? Will the lies and secrets ever stop? Will she always be left in the dark? Being sucked into the mafia lifestyle is taking a detrimental toll from all sides and is putting a hindrance on their relationship and creating an upheaval of trust and betrayal to levels that they have never had to encounter before. How far will things go before their world crumbles around them?

To be able to dive back into the world of Cole, Enzo, Fox, Ethan, and Rosie and to see how much their personalities and lives have changed since high school is astonishing. It was also surprising to see the perspective from their eyes with everything going on with the lords and the kings, that we only got to see a snippet of in the Kings of Bolten series. I love how K.G. interconnects all of her series and that she provides so much depth and clarity to the reader to follow along and get multiple POVs.

I’ve loved a certain character since we were introduced to him in book 1, and reading this book made me fall in love with him even more. You get to see that he has no secret agenda to take Rosie away from her horsemen and is just as willing to do everything he can in his power to keep her safe. He truly takes her dreams and aspirations into consideration and will do whatever is necessary for her to reach them. I’m hoping he may even be able to join the group at some point in this series, because he’s just so delicious!

Seriously this series just keeps getting better. I love how the Rosalie and the boys have started to grow as adults. The love the all have for her in their own way is just so real and raw. She is truly the center of their world and the air that they all breathe. She equally loves them so fiercely and I LOVE that she is finally finding her voice again and again. This book has some rough moments for some of the characters and I legit had to set it down and come back to it because it hit me in the feels so damn much. The sex scenes are so much hotter and man #cakegang #ilovecake #newkinkunlocked. Cole is still my favorite unhinged alphahole, Fox is still the soulmate, Ethan is still the lost soul just trying to catch his breath and Enzo is still Daddy Enzo BDE all the way. This the book where the connection to the Kings is really brought to light (follow those breadcrumbs). It is also where the cracks really start to widen in the relations between Rosie and the Horsemen. I love the torment but lord does it ever hurt. I am excited to see if my theories are correct but at the same time my heart aches for what I think is coming next.

If you have not started any of KG's Chaos Universe Books (BFH, Bolton, Barely Breathing, Church) , what are you waiting for? If you love reverse harem with lots of BDE, Alphaholes, personal tragedy, mafia and some sassy female MC then you need to start ASAP.

Talk about angst central, Chr!st…the tension is just increasing with each book. I’m confident KG is just gonna keep slowly turning it up until our heads explode, and I have no doubt that’s exactly what will happen since Mayfair went from a duet to a 4 books series.

Things are slowly heating up between the Horsemen and KoB, meanwhile Rosie and Anson grow closer and closer. And I have to be honest, one thing that truly got on my nerves and started to annoy me to no end was how Rosie is a huge push over. She allows her guys to steam roll her constantly, and she doesn’t put up much of a fight, and when she does put up a fight, she gives up very quickly or allows them to pacify her with their 🍆 which is 80% of the time and provides a good amount of $mut. I was really hoping to see more of her backbone in this book, and I was very disappointed when that didn’t happen. I know she’s still moving past her tr@um@, and she’s just tired of fighting with the Horsemen, but for some reason her lack of fight really got to me.

I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t give any details, but I need to know how things progress, especially knowing what I know from Double Dare You. The cliffy for As We Fight wasn’t too crazy but it definitely dropped a huge metaphorical bomb, and left us with even more questions and anxiety in the pit of my stomach.

KG Reuss, you have done it again. As We Fight is so beautifully heartbreaking that every page was one I both needed to turn and didn't want to.

Rosalie and The Horsemen have already been through so much, and that continues for them. their lives are not easy. This world you have built is written and created so well that I am in awe of how everything eventually connects and lines up. The crossovers with the Horsemen and the Kings are perfect, and I loved reading it from the Horemen point of view (that particular scene hurt my heart even more the second time around).

Enzo had me shouting in frustration so much throughout this book, but that ending truly broke my heart. The choices he now has to make, I honestly don't know what he will do. Ethan, Cole, and Fox they continue to be pulled in so many directions, and not all of them work out for the best. One thing is clear though they all love Rosalie with everything they have, and she loves them the same.

I'm glad we got to know Anson more in this book, finding out his past and who he truly is has helped his character grow so much more. I found myself liking him by the end of this book.

I can't wait for the next book in this series, I know it will be incredible, and I trust in you as an author to tell the story how it needs to be told, heartbreak, and all. So, thank you for giving us this world, I've loved every book so far.

A deeply emotional story full of K.G's trademark angst, suspense and so many more emotions. I was hooked with the second installment of Mayfair University.

If it wasn't clear from the first book, Rosalie and the guys are definitely no longer in high school. They are a family navigating a life of college and one that is wading further into the mafia lifestyle. A lifestyle that is shaping them as individuals and as a group. You can feel the tension and angst that they aren't all happy with the direction things are going but some are more resigned and accepting of it than others. The one thing that really holds them back from jumping fully in and losing themselves is their love of Rosalie. But while they love her and try their best to protect her, in doing so they sideline her a lot in the things they are involving themselves in and unfortunately, and unwittingly create a gilded cage for her. This done out of a sense of protecting her and keeping her safe. But it's not making her happy. She loves them and is devoted to them but absolutely hates the direction they're headed in. So, there's a clear clash of wants and expectations between them.

Anson's character and role continue in a major way in this book. And I'm honestly sold on him. While he may have started out with an underlying ulterior motive, it was all in the pursuit of getting answers for his family. And he very much cares for Rosalie. And while the two of them are only friends, and he respects her and her relationship with her guys, you can feel the attraction. While that would normally make me uncomfortable, in this story it makes sense and I appreciate him. He cares for Rosalie and would never do anything to hurt or harm her and he is honest with her. Something Enzo, Cole, Ethan and Fox are not, and while they do it to keep her safe, it ultimately keeps sidelining her and alienating her.

This story again ends on a major cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what happens in On The Edge. I can't get enough of these characters and the other series in this universe.

Another Beautiful, Brilliant book by KG Reuss. Book 2 in the Mayfair series has it all. Drama, Heartache, Hot as Heck scenes with Rosie and her men. Who doesn’t love cake?? We also get a definite answer to questions from the crossover series and a potential answer to a different crossover series. I absolutely love how KG has woven these series together. It’s such an intricate balance between the series and I can’t wait to see where it all goes when it is finished!!!

I absolutely loved how Rosie stood up for herself and fought for what she wanted. I know there is way more to come and I don’t know that Rosie 100% knows everything she wants. I fell in love with the Horsemen even more with this book. Fox continues to be my favorite!! Enzo had to go through so much this book that I couldn’t help but feel for him. And while I didn’t like Ani all that much last book he has won me over in this book. The Ending was the mildest cliffhanger that KG has written so far. Which scares me for where she will leave us at for the next book. Haha. I absolutely can not wait for the next book in this series to come out!!!

SO SO GOOD!!

I was enthralled by the deeply moving, complex plot that featured her characteristic anguish, suspense, and cross-cultural themes. I enjoyed watching the recurring characters from Black Falls HS, Enzo, Cole, Fox, and Ethan, along with perhaps a new character named Anson, face the difficulties of their mafia lifestyle. I loved how each person's unique stories, desires, and complications played out in such unanticipated ways. Drugs, enemies, and feelings.

The characters' growth and change up to this point in their life, as well as the distinct differences in personalities and behaviors, contributed to the outstanding character development. Clearly, they are not in high school anymore. They are a significant mafia family, and every element of their new existence is being shaped by their new obligations. No doubt, what hasn’t changed is the love for Rosie, and with it the greater challenge of keeping everyone safe. But there are secrets…

I loved how this book had multiple POV’s. This book was not only complex but so so spicy.

This book was one of the best in the series so far. This author always blows me away! Can’t wait for the next book.

Rosalie and her Horsemen continue to mature and evolve in this continuation to the series. The road is definitely a rough one, full of obstacles and pitfalls. One thing remains constant, and that is the love they have for one another. But will that be enough? Love can't keep you safe. Love can't keep your enemies away. Love doesn't save you from death.... maybe the kindest thing you can do for Love, is walk away....
Anson has intrigued me since we were first introduced to him at the end of the Black Falls High series, and this girl is 100% smitten with him after this latest installment.... gimme more!!!
Do not go into this book expecting rainbows, butterflies and puppy kisses, it's dark, broody and full of angst. These characters are struggling to keep it together when their whole world is threatening to implode around them. Secrets are being kept, enemies (old, new and unknown) are breathing down their necks and their relationship may not be strong enough to survive it.... heck, they may not all survive....

This is the second book in K.G. Reuss’s story of Rosalie and the horsemen as they navigate college and their new normal, involving Enzo’s position in his family.

This book picks up where May We Rise ended. The shootout at the club leaves the horsemen trying to regroup. But dangerous actions lead to even more dangerous reactions. As the lies continue to pile up, Rosalie becomes more anguished at the secrets the guys are clearly hiding. However, there is a brightness as she grows closer to the person whom she perceives to put her happiness at the forefront. As the book progresses it will be clear that the horsemen and Rosie are fighting for their relationship. But will it withstand the pressure?

In As We Fight, the author continues to take us through this world where the lines between good and evil are often blurred, and where the difference between never and forever is small. This book contains some light MM, some super hot group scenes, and a ton of action. Make sure you check her website for triggers.
