Terrorism in the Mountains

Blue Mountain Explosion is thrilling debut for author Donald Hylton. The story centers around the careful, close-to-retirement Mark Morgan, mine foreman of the eponymous mine—a fictional operation located in the Appalachian Mountains. After a supposed accident in the first chapter, inspectors and federal investigators descend upon Blue Mountain. Unconvinced that the tragedy was a mere accident and suspicious that a more deadly terror attack is imminent, the investigators must rely in Mark’s help to smoke out the would be terrorist before he or she can destroy the mine and kill everyone inside.

Mark finds himself thrust into a world of uncertainty, espionage, and danger. Familiar friends and co-workers might now be strangers with hidden agendas.
The only person Marks knows he can trust is his former co-worker Jack Bonney. The only problem is, Jack has been dead for years.

Blue Mountain Explosion is an exciting mystery. Combining mine education with elements of adventure and intrigue, Donald Hylton’s debut novel is an exciting story that will keep readers engrossed until the surprising finale! I would recommend this book to anyone interested in West Virginian/Appalachian stories and mystery thrillers. A great read!

Great mystery by a small town writer

I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book but after the first few chapters I was hooked. The description on the underground mines all the way to the ghost of a formal miner kept me turning the page. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a mystery to read.
