In 2012 when our family walked into the doors as a first time guest at Milestone Church...we experienced every single thing that Pastor Steve teaches in this book about the power of connection. This isn't a book of great ideas Church leaders could do in their churches. This is a way of life that I have witnessed and I'm so honored to be a part of.
This is a book meant for church leaders...but honestly so much of the first part of the book is just how to connect better with others. For example..."Connection is not networking with others; it's serving others. Great connectors are genuinely looking to help someone else not themselves."
This is such a great book for anyone that wants to grow in loving and serving people better through the power of connection!

This book puts so much in perspective when it comes to actually connecting with people at church. I’m excited to implement some of the tips in this book at my church and on my team!

Personally, I think this book is a great resource not only for the church and team leaders, but for all Believers. This book explains the importance of being a “connector” in an encouraging and meaningful way, that I think goes beyond the church walls. Connectors in the body of Christ play a pivotal role, especially for new church visitors. One thing I appreciate that the author does is provide explicit details as to how he and his church leaders have established systems to ensure everyone feels connected, cared for, and seen. At its core, I believe the book is driven by this quote, “The Gospel must be proclaimed but seeds of evangelism are quiet acts of kindness that have resounding effects.”
Here are 7 key takeaways and themes I appreciated that the author highlights:
* Most often bad church experiences are simply unmet expectations.The church is one of the few places where personal acknowledgment is still expected”
* YOU ARE ALWAYS ONE CONNECTION AWAY FROM A BIGGER LIFE
* Relational Influence = The capital you have with others to secure connections

This book does an impeccable job of presenting an easy to follow guide for fostering connection in the church. This book motivated and challenged me both in my personal walk and as a leader.
