I have never read such an absolute tear jerker; this book will bring you to tears more times than you can count. The plot, while missing details at times, consistently challenges the reader and is, if nothing else, thought provoking. Would have DNFed if I had the option to but in the end, 5 stars
What a lovely, light and informative read this was! Something to read with your morning Celsius and AHDH meditation.
There is so much to praise about this book. It is truly the backbone of studying materials for Step 1/Level 1. One could probably become a knowledgeable physician without going to medical school by just memorizing this book. Although this book was thorough, I did still supplemented it with Sketchy, Boards&Beyond and other well used materials. I do wish the authors had added in some plots about dragons, fairies, witches and other mythical creatures to really make the read more interesting. Or maybe an enemies to lovers trope surrounding a medical student and all of pathology?
Studying this for the last 6 weeks or so for boards has slowly chipped away at both my soul and my sanity. Figured I may as well get credit toward my reading challenge for the year in the process. I’m 100% dead inside now, but hey, I can at least say I got through a 700-whatever page book. Look at me goooooo
Absolutely hated it but it grew on me. It was hard to follow up with but at some point, I started to appreciate it. It’s a tear jerker, late-night-companion, FOMO-enabler read with absolutely no plot line whatsoever! Some of the reviews i found funny of this are: “Reading it, i laughed and i cried, but I mostly cried” “Absolutely the worst, 23 chapters in and still no love confession”
