Taming a Bad Boy: The McKnight Boys , Book 1

Rate this book
Ireland Steinburgen is absolutely determined to never love again. Happy endings only exist in fairytales, and she’s tired of being let down over, and over, and over again. The one common denominator?

Men.

Now that she’s moved her life from her small, Southern hometown all the way to the big city of San Francisco, she’s convinced she can make it in life, blissfully happy in her singledom. Of course, she’d be an awful lot happier if she could get a handle on her temper and hold down a job.

Which is how she ends up interviewing to be the assistant to the CEO of Knight Industries.

But when Zach Knight, billionaire playboy extraordinaire, steps through his office door and straight into her rollercoaster of a life, Ireland’s faced with the biggest challenge of her resisting the charms of a talented bedfellow, well versed in the art of unclothing beautiful women.

She’s strong, a born and bred Southern Belle. She can be the perfect assistant to Mr. Knight and keep him firmly in his place and out of her bed.

Right?

Tame

Not a bad read. Sweet story slow paced at times confusing but it comes together just enough to be a good read.

three stars is beyond generous rating

I think I’m being generous giving it three stars. The story had no flow, they seem to have a toxic relationship and then suddenly fall in “love”. The characters development is off, I just think the book lacks in so many ways. I gave it three because I actually finished it, but the ending was even more ridiculous !!!!!! She becomes a famous artist when there is no mention of her doing art anywhere in the book. Like she woke up one day and said I’m going to be a famous artist and it will take less than 3 years, I know nothing about art but that seems like the kind of things that doesn’t make since throughout the book. I would never waste my time on a sequel

Fast book, i don't really see a bad boy within it so that was disappointing he was just a rich man who is cocky. Its not as dark or kinky as i was led to believe of his "bad boy-ness". He needs a personal assistant his company wants someone young (sure they do) he goes for some southern bell that isnt from a daddy trust fund. She is there for every beckin call he wants her because he cant have her shes not his normal type and shes not falling to his feet. They fall for each other a miscommunication happens they try to reconcile it but mini side story character gets in the way (we are introduced to said person like once or twice in name then magically this other BOSS BITCH is a psycho. no real back story). Lives are threatened which bring the "bad boy" and southern bell closer they before. the end.

So glad this was free

This read like the author wrote it in one hour. It made absolutely no sense . Rich guy hires an assistant, but never gives her any wok, just verbally abuses her then seduces her. She finally falls in his trap which was his apparent plan all along. No work on the company or explanation was given. Just mindless chatter from the main characters. A villain was added at the end for some reason but didn't help the story. Anyway I will not be continuing to book 2.

As a reader, I hate to stop a story until finished. Sadly, the story was not enjoyable to read. The heroine started out strong, giving her backstory but throughout the story she was made to be a wimp. The hero was a douche from the first time that met, with glimpses of a man who needed her. But not once did she step up to help him or herself. Almost seemed the author had one idea but then list herself in the writing

Millionaire romance

I liked it reasonable well. Its a millionaire office romance. The romance is solid. There were attempts to develop more in the story but then was dropped or just skimmed over.

I found this book highly boring with characters that I could not connect with. Their relationship was strange and lacked detail to feel real. Really struggled to complete it but I can never leave a book unfinished.

This book was okay. It wasn't what I was expecting but in a good way. It was really easy to read and I literally flew through it. However in saying that I thought it was potentially maybe too short and it could have done better with elaborating on certain plot points.

Can’t believe I actually finished this book. Maybe because comparison wise, he was about 150 pages shorter than what I usually read. No spice at all, HUGE gaps in the storyline and a timeline that made zero sense… basically sappy rom-com, if you’re into it, that’s great. ⭐️⭐️

This was a pointless book.
No ceo would ever hire someone thinking they will screw them. Their reputation is at risk, they can face sexual harassment allegations. This was so dumb written.
Also, there was not much story, like there could be more scenes.

makes no sense

Don’t bother, the story jumps so much to conclusions and the sudden arrival of feelings or situations makes no sense. It would inspire you to write though, I’ll give it that.

all over the place

The entire storyline was not fluid. The author even corrected herself several times saying the characters “forgot”. Definitely won’t be reading more.

Was prepared for a typical bosshole, enemies to lovers HEA story. Was not prepared for the twist near the end.

I thought this was going to be a bit spicy. Boring. It felt like it skipped over the best parts of a book. Like a 17 year old girl was writing about a first crush. Would not recommend

This book is in the Black, multicultural romance categories. Nope! Nada! No! Not a sign of any other culture or person of color. Read almost half. Could not go on. The writing is kinda bad.

Starting is good but I feel the characters development is a bit rush and the ending is also felt very rushed.
