Control is something I exercise all day, every day, in my job and personal life.
My walls have been up for years, and it’s taking its toll.
Will I ever find someone I can be myself with?
Blayde has moved up the ranks in the police force in record time due, in part, to his dedication and focus on the job. His precision and cool head leave most in awe of him, but behind the uniform and tall walls lurks a man at war with his desires and baser instincts.
Victoria knows a lot about desire, anticipation, excitement, and seduction. Despite a disastrous first meeting, there’s definitely a spark between her and Blayde, but can she break her way through the steel fence around him?
And if she does, will she be able to cope with what she finds? Or will she be biting off way more than she can chew?
Rich City Boys – #Blayde is the fourth standalone novel in the Rich City Boys contemporary romance series. If you like sexy cops, lingerie shops, and steam right to the very last word, start reading now. A happily ever after is guaranteed.
#Blayde is the fourth installment in Even Monroe’s ( Rich City Boys Series ) a series that is not only so quickly becoming one of my very favorites but is also getting better and better with every single book . It’s not often I come across a series that has the ability to not only keep my attention the way this one has but also make me feel as many crazy emotions as Even Monroe’s Rich City Boys Series has done . I have loved every single book and every couple but I think that Blayde and Tori just might be my favorite so far . Blayde is a high ranked police officer who is extremely dedicated and focused on his job .He ends up meeting Tori while investigating a series of break ins . From the moment they meet sparks fly , the Chemistry and the instant attraction is undeniable. But Blayde has some issues with control in most aspects of his life ,it’s due to this fact that he has put many walls up and does not let people in easily . Tori is his polar opposite, she’s fun , loving and sweet . She does have her fair share of trouble In her past but unlike Blayde she is not afraid to show her feelings , what does their future hold , can she break down Blaydes walls . Emotional, steamy , suspenseful, intriguing, with many twists and turns , it’s dark , heartbreaking, heartfelt and just perfect
Blayde has built his walls up high, and it's helped him to work his way up the police force since he doesn't allow any distractions. However, his latest case of break ins brings him face to face with Tory, who he caught foot in mouth syndrome at their first meeting LOL! I laughed super hard at that, and at least Tory didn't hold it against him. They have the sparks flying, but this isn't an easy journey since he's a tough nut to crack despite any feelings he may be catching. So there's the task of breaking down his walls for Tory, on top of trying to figure out who is breaking into the businesses that gave us some suspense. There's a lot going on in these pages, but it seemed like some of the biggest things were resolved super quickly when they needed a bigger solution but that's just me. I will say that I'm looking forward to more books by this author at the end of the day & HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is the fourth book in this series and is Blayde and Victoria / Tory’s story. Blayde is a dedicated and focused and has worked his up the ranks in the police force, and when he is investigating a series of break-ins, he meets Tory. After a humorous first meeting, the sparks fly between them, but Blayde has built walls up around himself, will Tory be able to break through them? This is a good and enjoyable story with humor, witty banter, intrigue, suspense, danger, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this author and I recommend her work.
Rating 3.5 stars. Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review. An easy to read, low angst opposites attract romance with lots of steam. Would have liked to see the relationship between Blayde and Tory grow further beyond the bedroom and a bit more depth as to why her parents are the way they are. Would have preferred an ending/ epilogue to be more satisfying (like a peek into where they are maybe a year into their relationship rather than another round of their bedroom antics). Okay read if you're looking for an uncomplicated sexy read to pass the time.
This was an entertaining romance between Blayde and Victoria with just enough danger to stoke the flames. Blayde has control issues in all facets of his life and loving parents and family. But it's fun loving Victoria, who has the nightmare controlling parents. They can't seem to escape the attraction and fate keeps throwing them together. I loved this fun story, but didn't care for Victoria's parents and her willingness to put up with their vitriol. She deserved better and Blayde's family could have provided it.
★ “I’m a lot to take on. It’s complicated. I’m not all sweetness and light.” ★
—>>> Senior Sergeant Blayde Smith is working a set of armed robberies with no viable leads, and an impromptu meeting starts him off on the wrong foot with Victoria, one the shop owners in the commercial district of interest. Little by little, though, this woman gets undermines Blayde’s famous control as well as his skin, leading to some very steamy encounters as they follow up on all details which may be pertinent to the crimes.
Looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series as well!
This was my first book by Even Monroe and it was an enjoyable and entertaining read. Their first two encounters were very funny. Blayde is the typical alpha guy and a cop, Tory is a sweet girl who had her fair share of trouble in her past but something for herself. Their friends seem a nice gang. The only thing I missed was how it ended with her parents and did they get their first date again?

This is the fourth story in the series but it read well as a stand-alone. Tory was delightful and funny. Blayde was just yummy. He’s a cop and she owns a lingerie store. The book blurb suggested the story might get kinky but the steamy scenes were pretty tame. Entertaining, well-written story.

This was ok. A good read, but it didn’t flow. I like books that I can get lost in and I forget that I man reading a book. This was not one of those books. One thing that irritated me….Blayde goes to investigate a crime and tells his workers he will be back. Then he has sex with Tory? That’s a little too much. It just wasn’t believable so it took me out of the book (if that makes sense).
#Blayde, Rich City Boys Book Four Book 4 of Rich City Boys
by Even Monroe
Police officer Blayde meets Tory who thinks he is a stripper hired by her friend. They have chemistry . More detailed characters and story would have made this story better. It was still okay to read though.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Truly on the fence with this one. The characters were interesting and well developed but it feels like there simply wasn't enough time spent on the two main character's. In some regards it felt like they spent more time talking about their issues with friends than with each other. All of the drama was wrapped up very quickly, all of the angst easily resolved and then it was over and there was the epilogue. I think the whole of the story spanned one week, maybe two. This couple worked great in their physical aspect but I read this and I'm not sure if they had much going for them outside of that.

A solid and enjoyable instalove book ! It is sweet, passionate, engaging, relatable, funny, steamy, and well written. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. Definitely recommended!
Victoria and Blayde were a great couple. The electricity between these two was amazing. Blayde always had to be in control of everything. Victoria just wants him. So good.
Blayde is now my favorite guy in this friend group. He’s quiet and reserved but there is so much more to him. His intensity is something else. There is a lot of scorching heat between him and Tory.
I feel the book had so much more potential and then left us hanging in the end. Even with the epilogue.
Blayde is a high-ranking police officer investigating a series of break-ins when he meets Tory. Who thinks he’s there as a stripper her friend sent her. Good thing they could both laugh that off.
But there was a spark between them that they decide to explore as just sex. That is until Blayde’s father invites her along to dinner with the family. Only to have a rift caused by meeting her parents.
Blayde and Tory get their happy ending in this stand-alone book in a series.
There was so much that was hinted at and then just ignored in the end. Did Blayde’s mom decide to come in and shop? Did Tory’s parents ever reach out again or ask to see her books? Was it Maude who had an issue with the shop and told her parents? Did they try a first date again? People (I) need to know these things!
