For many people living on the South Side of Chicago, to survive has always been a juggling act. Fair or not, Damian Hope and his family and friends are used to it. The oldest of four, along with being the man of the house, Damian navigates through his daily routine working at a local shoe store and hustling drugs. When he and some familiar friends from the neighborhood attend an annual basketball game at the local park on Christmas Eve, one of them is assaulted and found looking down the barrel of a gun.
