I’m honestly so mad about the way it turned out. Personally I feel Ginika had no reason to cheat and just wanted to.. You were grieving for 4 years???!! In your ex arms?!!!! That doesn’t even make sense

This is the fifth and last book in this series and I bet you, this author definitely saved the best for last. I must point out here that you can actually read this book as a standalone even if you haven’t read any of the other four books. However, I have reviewed all four books on my blog (rovingbookwormng.com) and you can check them out.
This story follows Ginika, the center piece of this series who brought all the girls we have come to fall in love with in the other 4 books together and now it’s her turn to tell her story. Ginika has been married to Dike for four years and things have been pretty okay apart from the fact that they miscarried a child in the first year of their marriage. Since then, they have not gotten pregnant again and when Dike suggests they seek medical assistance, Ginika is furious. Ginika reacts to Dike’s request by running back to her Ex, Muyiwa and when Dike finds out, things go downhill from there. This is a story about infidelity, grief, forgiveness and second chances.
This book was without a doubt the icing on the cake. I loved every single thing about it. Most importantly, as someone who has been married for so long, I am always excited to read romance-ish stories about married couples. All the characters especially Dike and Ginika were relatable even when you were so upset with them. The story carries a very crucial message about true love and marriage, that both require work, commitment, honesty and patience. Just like everything else in life, ups and downs will occur in marriage and we have to sometimes fight for that love that we believe in to win in the end. I also like the fact that this story had a male protagonist who was absolutely in love and expressed it with his full chest. This is a narrative I like to see more in the romance books I read because there are a lot of men out there who love their women like this and their stories should be told. Most importantly, I got my happy ending despite the rollercoaster ride and this is why we read romance and this author to be precise.
As always, it was well written, researched and downright unputdownable. At the end of the book, the author blew my mind with her music playlist which she listened to while she wrote the book and it was as if I was looking at my own playlist. After reading the book, I spent another hour or so listening to all the songs. To say the least, I had a glorious time altogether. I have so much to say about this book but I will stop here to avoid giving spoilers.
However, trust me when I say this book is a must read. I highly recommend it to everyone. Romance lover or not, go and read this book.

MY HONEST OPINION:
You know that feeling when you read a good book and you honestly wonder if it is fiction or maybe, just maybe..the story may have occurred in reality. I mean this is the last book of the Ginika's Bridesmaid series and i am hooked..I found myself whispering to the male lead (more like trying to justify my actions as the female lead *winks*) and guess what? my thoughts were in line with the author's next words.. I love me a good book that is connected in some type of way, they really make me feel good. I also found myself grabbing my dictionary, every time i come across words i haven't seen or heard before.. and lets not forget the list of songs used in the novel.. I am a Gen-Z but i am glad that i got to know some music through this amazing work of art and i already made a playlist which i always enjoy whenever am in the mood for some good music

Adesuwan's books are always in-depth and intentional...of which Ginika's Bridesmaid; Book 5 isn't an exception. This particular book is just an extra bonus if you had read the ones before it. The plot and also setting of this novel is what i will say is absolutely perfect. Ginika is a lady who went back to pick stones instead of cherishing the diamond that was always at her beck and call and that almost cost her marriage.. but in the midst of the misunderstanding, Ginika transformed into a better version of herself which stunned me as a reader.
When having a tough day and you want to get out of the shackles of reality... Ginika's Bridesmaids is there to pacify you.

I don't have much to say. I haven't been a fan of Ginika from the start. As someone who views cheating as a deal breaker, I won’t be biased just because Ginika is a woman. What she did was totally wrong! I felt frustrated every time she returned to Muyiwa. I kept wondering what was so appealing about him. Dike is a good man, and he didn’t deserve such treatment. Love is more than just a four-letter word, and Dike truly proved that. The saying, "You don't know what you have until you lose it," perfectly describes this story.
Plus, Muyiwa is a psychopath! 😕
On a positive note, I must commend Ginika's character development. While she isn’t a saint, I appreciate that she acknowledged her faults and made efforts to change. One of the aspects I love about this series is the theme of friendship. The bond among the bridesmaids is a beautiful one, and I’m grateful for their growth throughout the series.
Overall, this was an interesting read, except for Ginika's shenanigans. I highly recommend it.

After the resounding anger I felt finishing the fourth book, I genuinely didn’t think I’d ever return to this series. But a friend was reading it for the first time and really liked this one, so of course, I had to pick it up again.
What I enjoyed the most about this book is how it read like you and your girls were sharing hot gossip in your hostel. It’s juicy AF and unapologetically Nigerian (this is both a compliment and a drag, you’ll get it if you read, lol).
Second chance romance is one of my favourite tropes, but this book made me realise something important: I only like it when the man is doing the begging. I got so tired of Dike refusing to forgive Ginika despite all her heartfelt pleas (even though, let’s be honest, I’d have eaten it up if the roles were reversed. I’m not above a little hypocrisy, sksksks.)
My favourite part? When she chose herself over love. Honestly, I didn’t even mind her keeping the baby a secret. I’d have been perfectly fine if the book ended with her single and unbothered.

I appreciate how realistic the author was in this story. She didn’t resort to the typical “she cheated on him, he forgave her, and they lived happily ever after” ending. Instead, she took the characters on a genuine journey of self-discovery, helping them to rediscover themselves, their feelings for each other, and ultimately find redemption. I loved this series .

This was difficult to read and at a point I almost gave up. I don't even want to review it because I'd probably remember the story and get miffed again, but nah this was truly a lot.

What!! This was sooooo LIT🔥🔥. I thought it I enjoyed reading Ozioma but Ginika is something else entirely. @thefertilechickwriter , you are one very outstanding writer,how do you have all those dialogues and interactions in your head,I really do have to ask. I love how swift you are with words and making the characters look real and can live rent free in my head.
I started Ginika and in less than 4 hours I was through, I mean at a sitting. I just had to see what happened in the next chapter and the next until I was through with the book.

I had no business being up till the time I was reading this book after opening it to just “read a couple of chapters”, but it was such a solid read pushed to 4 stars by that ending. I love a well rounded off romance story and this was definitely that! Made my heart glad💗
I loved Dike soo much, and I grew to love Ginika. I didn’t always like her choices, didn’t even always like her ‘solutions’, but from a few chapters in, you could see that she was genuinely in love and remorseful. I love how Dike made her work for it, but not in a particularly linear way. This book for the most part read as realistic, and I greatly appreciate that. And, again, that ending! Haven’t read a proper epilogue from this author whom I’ve been binge reading her book recently so this was a such a lovely surprise for this starving woman. Loved it

Dike, my cherished and affectionate teddy bear of a man. I thought Ara was my favorite character, but Dike became my top pick.
This man is very kind!!!!!! My Gosh! I'm completely infatuated with him; it's almost ridiculous how much I adore his quirky personality! Nerds should be guarded at all times, especially Dike Unigwe!!!
I refuse to stop talking about him.
Enough of my main guy, let's move on to Ginika.

dike unigwe was the best boyfriend/husband in the ginika's bridesmaids universe.. & that's saying smth, considering i met banji alfonso, karibi graham-hart & my diekola papi. but he was the best of the best, & he deserved the entire world. while i honestly do not think that is ginika.. as long he's happy.
also, i was a bit dissatisfied w that ozi & banji thing that was left up in the air, but i'm going to assume it had to do w pregnancy..and also assume it was resolved since she eventually was pregnant at the end so its ok.
this series was such a fun time. shoutout to that babe that recommended it on tiktok, and shoutout to my tiktok algorithm for bringing it to me. i had a swell time 🤭✨️.

Of course, Dike is angry and files for a divorce.
She grovels as much possible but it’s to no avail.
She has to accept the marriage is over.
And as she decides to find herself, she comes to understand what true love is.
Characters are authentic and very Nigerian and that’s why I love this author. You get a real flavour of Nigerian romance when you read her books. I recommend.

For the most part, this book drained me! Ginika stressed me so bad!
I felt several emotions. Anger, sadness, anxiety, hope, everything.
I read the entire book in one sitting, it was that good (so good I’m writing this at 4am without a wink)
I believed that Ginika deserved what she got, because she kept making the worse decisions
While reading this book, I kept thinking of how Adesuwa (the author) is so learned and versatile. The locations referenced across the entire series, and the details is top notch!

I love this series because it's Lagos core! It transported us to amazing spaces. The wealth and “boujiness”? Bring it! I’m glad all the girls got settled in the end especially Ozioma. I loved her vibe with Banji. Ginika was messy, but I’m glad she sorted that out.😂 It’s actually reality. That person that we keep going back to for reasons we can't explain. They aren't even that great! I hope this gets turned into a series. It really explores the love lives of women in Lagos, highbrow areas to be exact. Who wouldn't eat that up?

Book 5 was a beautiful conclusion to the Ginika’s Bridesmaids series. I went in expecting Ginika to stress me out, and yeah, she did, but watching her journey unfold was so satisfying. It was a great finale love story. The bond and growth shared among all the bridesmaids was heartwarming and inspiring. I truly loved the entire series!

I love that the end of this series just makes me sooo happy. Ginika definitely made mistakes but I love that she decided to make do with her life and got the best of it. Dike was loving and didn't deserve what he got but I'm happy it all worked out well.

Ginika really gave me headache arrrgh 😅… but I’m glad she re-discovered herself and took accountability for all her mistakes. Dike is just too good for her but they compliment each other also. Ginika’s story is definitely The best of the series!!! 👏🏾🫶🏽

There were so many times i wanted to pull out her hair. I mean how could she so this over and over again. Like she had no regard and didnt care. She was extremely selfish and mean. Choosing herself and not being considerate of her spouse.

I was so angry with Ginika in all the 4 books, but I realized she did not heal from an old relationship before jumping into Dike, but it worked out for them after getting the help they both wanted and ended up happily ever after.....

I think I like the turn of events here. Though it got a bit boring with Ginika and her unnecessary lies about the pregnancy. But I could understand her reasons Dike wasn't exactly perfect even if I know the betrayal from his wife stung him more than anything else. I can absolutely imagine his 😢.
