Cy heads home to Knockaine to see what is happening since she was away helping Sven in the Blood Spire. Nothing good now that her mother is a banshee and has a new right hand, Crom Dubh. The Resistance wants her to overthrow the Queen, and is lead by the mysterious Elfrydah. Can Cy free them from her mother? A must read to find out! You won't be disappointed. I’m not quite sure how I thought all of this was going to end, but I can safely say that none of this was anywhere in my imagination when I thought about it. Political manoeuvring, treachery, magic, and sacrifice. This book covered the full spectrum of plots and emotions when staging a revolution. We may have come to the end of this series, but I’m sure it’s not the last we’ll see of Cy and company. (Keeping my fingers crossed.) She’s still got lots of work to do and I desperately want to know what these changes are going to mean.

4 1/2 stars! A really good read and conclusion to this series. So many things I didn’t see coming, new characters, old friends lending a hand or bone whip, surprise after surprise. Great ending to this series. Highly recommend reading the whole series as each book feeds into the next and each book is unique.

This was an explosively good finale!
Cy would love to have Sven by her side but this is one battle she will have to face without him. She has to find out who ended the life of her friend Anthony and face her mother the Queen.
Cy wasn't prepared though for who will help her in this battle...
Everything is non-stop action, surprises at every turn.
Loved it!
