Didn't enjoy
I didn't enjoy this book the series dwindled from book 3 and kept going from there which was disappointing as it was a good series until this point

Warp and Jess
Warp is a nomad with a mantra of no love, no relationships. This all stems from the traumatic childhood that he grew up with. All it took was a chance meeting Jess who just so happens to be godmother to his godson. Whew, did sparks fly! Now Jess has taken it upon her self to help Warp work through everything that has affected his whole life. Jess is just the woman for the job showing compassion and love to this man.
The chemistry and drama made this a five-star read for me. This is the first time I read this author and now I will be making sure I get my hands on more of her books.

This was such a great book! Jess and Warp's chemistry was hot! Jess and Warp's relationship was honest from the jump. Blanche and Freeze were so funny and such great friends. Warp was dealing with some really heavy stuff, and I loved how Jess was able to help him work through his demons. This was a well-written story with really good character depth. I am definitely going to read more from this author.

A nomad, Warp has no roots and no attachments, until he becomes a godfather and then his heart begins to melt for the boys that adore him. His past taught him not to trust or become attached, but now he can’t help himself, and when the godmother gets drunk and kisses him, his walls really begin to crumble around his heart.
She is a southern bell but living in California now and making her own way. Jess owns her own business and decides to follow her best friend to California and open a second store there so they could be close. When Whitney and Bolton start a family, Whitney asks her best friend Jess to be the godmother, and of course she agrees.
Jess and Warp couldn’t be more different, but the attraction between them is off the charts as is the pull they have. Unable to fight it any longer, Warp decides to take a chance and stick around in one location, but an undercover gig that he does for the Kings of Chaos almost goes really bad and he is left with a lot of questions regarding the club and his desire to stay with the chapter. I enjoyed this story and found the characters to be entertaining and likable. This was my first book in this series, but I was not too lost when I started it. Ms. Colt wrote so that she covered the background story for how Warp and Jess met. It was also my first read of a book by Shyla Colt. Soulless is the 9th book in the Kings of Chaos M.C. series, and it is one of the best books in the series! War (AKA Warp) is a Nomad that everyone respects and fears in equal measure. Jess is Blanche's best friend and the godmother to her children. War is the godfather, and these two could not resist each other. War is beyond a bad boy and has a horrible past. Jess is the all-American southern good girl who has worked hard for everything she has. It is fantastic that she is a successful entrepreneur who likes to help others. It is also remarkable that the ladies in this book are older and still find the love of their life.
Jess and War's journey to their happily ever after is filled with action, high drama, incredible BFF girl times, suspense, and intensely steamy romance. The storyline is gritty in parts, believable, and flows well, and it keeps you turning those pages. The characters we know from the previous eight books continue to be relatable, believable, and realistic. Come on, book ten!

This is book nine in The Kings of Chaos MC Series and it is Warp and Jess story. Warp had gone through such a traumatic childhood and had so many demons that he never thought that he would be good enough for anyone. Jess is a strong and caring woman and she would help anyone at any time even if she has just met them. When Warp and Jess meet there is an instant attraction and chemistry right from the start but with everything that is going on will they ever give in to it as they are so perfect for each other I love how Jess helps Warp through so much and how she is able to keep him calm and with so much care, compassion and love and how she shows Warp that he does deserve everything including having someone by his side to love him. Shyla Colt is an amazing author and writer and I absolutely love her books as the story's have so much depth and written with so much compassion on some very difficult subjects and I can't wait to read more of her books in the future.

This book starts in the middle of some drama that I'm assuming started in the previous book. The MC is in lock down. Jess who is not associated with the club except as a friend of an old lady is also stuck at the club house. Tired of being cooped up, with War whom she secretly is lusting over and also a little heartsick for what her best friend has Jess is ready for a change. I liked that Jess was older as well and that she has real world issues. I am a little over the super young heroines with much more older guys. This couple felt more realistic. I know this is also an interracial couple which is awesome and I really liked that it wasn't hyper focused on that and the characters had their own identities apart from that. Hot love scenes and action included made me a happy camper will continue on with the series.

Warp is the Nomad the rest of the club gives a wide berth. He’s liked and respected, but no one wants to upset the loner.
Jess is the kind-hearted southern girl ready and willing to help anyone who needs it.
The two connect when they’re asked to be godparents to the same children… and find an attraction that’s off the charts!
Warp’s early life leads him to avoid entanglements of any kind, especially love. Betrayal by those he should have been able to trust has shaped his life of never letting anyone get close.
Though Jess is no child, she’s free for the first time of her manipulative family and the stifling small town she grew up in.
Nothing about these two says they would work and nothing is in their favor.
Still, there is a chance!
Kudos to the author for not only including mature women, but women who are successful, and for some great banter!

3.5 stars. Jess and Warp have been godparents to their friends’ boys for awhile, and been attracted to each other for awhile as well. One night they give into that attraction and things never go back to being the same. While Jess tries to downplay her feelings to not get hurt, Warp is battling inner demons that tell him he’s not good enough for her.
This was an entertaining read and the characters were well written. The only thing that bugged me is we see War tell her about his past maybe not all the details but enough that we all understood. So when he later freaks and runs because of what he said in his sleep as if she didn’t already have a pretty good idea was weird. If he had mentioned right off the bat that she had an idea but he didn’t want her to know details (like he says later) I would’ve been okay with that.

This is the ninth book in this series, and this is Warp and Jess’s story. Warp is a nomad with no roots, and he has no attachments, until he becomes a godfather, and the walls around his heart start to crumble. Jess is kind-hearted and will help anyone in need, and she is the godmother. There is an instant attraction between these two, and the chemistry is combustible and undeniable, and she brings the light back into his life. These two may be opposites, but they compliment each other perfectly. This is a beautifully written action-packed story which has intrigue, family, friendships, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to a steamy and compelling page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Warp and Jess' story was so great to read. I'd always wanted to know his story and Shyla did not disappoint! Warp definitely has his own demons so his role in the MC is perfect for him as is his take on love and relationships - he's not doing either. Enter Jess and he's rethinking that stance more and more. I loved Jess. She was such a strong character and didn't back down from Warp which was exactly what he needed. I also loved that their story wasn't an easy one and had a few bumps along the way. We also got to catch up with a lot of the characters from the previous books as some other story lines were continued. I'm just glad that I got to go along for the ride. Great story and I can't wait to read what's next from Shyla!

In the 9th book of the Kings of Chaos MC series we get Warp and Jess's emotional story. Warp has demons due to the things that he experienced as a child so he doesn't do love or relationships. Until Jess enters the picture and gets him rethinking his previous views. Jess is perfect for Warp she doesn't settle for less than what she wants out of life and she doesn't back down from Warp or anyone else. You really need to read this emotional story to see what happens. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. I would recommend reading this book.

This was such a great story. So much was happened in this book, Warp is an amazing character. The things that he experienced as a child was hard to wrap my head around. The entire book was written so well. Jess is a strong woman who knows what she wants in life and won’t settle for less. But the fact she not only care for everyone in her life, she cares for those she just meets. She was written as a compassionate and selfless person. This is a great story for everyone to read.

Jess is calm, strong, kind and a dream chaser and not given credence to small town views, took a chance when it came up. Goodness, I loved this. Once I started, I didn’t want to put it down.
A heartbreakingly beautiful, heart- tugging and remarkably gripping romance. Warp and Jess embarked on a journey that tested their patience, loyalty, and emotions, but above all, the amount of love they had for eachother.
It was so captivating. Loved the characters and plot equally.
I love how Warp and Jess proved that there is beauty amongst all the mess surrounding them.

Warp and Jess connects when they become godparents. The sparks ignite right from the beginning for these two, but Warp feels that he isn't good enough for Jess considering his past but one fiery kiss has him thinking differently! War is a travelling member of a motorcycle club. He’s also the godfather of two boys of another motorcycle club member who he considers more of a son. He meets the boy’s godmother and the attraction is great but he doesn’t really think he’s good enough for her as he’s had a traumatic life. The story’s ok, a little dark at times.

Does Jess and Warp have a case of unrequited love? Another instalment from KOC. A moment of madness acted upon by Jess leaves both Jess and Warp wondering what have they done. Avoidance is becoming stale and dangerous. Action is definitely required by both parties. A nice continuation of the KOC series.

This was a great story. Warp has plenty of demons so the MC life is great for him. No love or relationships. He becomes a godfather and meets Jess. She was perfect for Warp and could stand up to his bull. Love the storyline and the characters were hot. There is plenty of action, drama, suspense, and hot steam. First book I've read from this author. Will definitely read more of her books.

Great Biker Read
This was a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed Warp and Jess story and the characters of the Kings MC. Even the hardest of hearts can be infiltrated with the love and support of a good women and Jess was all that for Warp. I only wish the story was longer but that aside the book was well written. Ms Colt you are a force to be reckoned with, without a doubt. If you love a good biker story than read this book. You will not be disappointed.

I loved the story of Jess and Warp. Watch was a Nomad who wanted nothing to do with relationships as he had had a difficult childhood so does not do relationships. What possessed him to be a godfather was beyond him, however when he dis he met Jess. She changed his perspective as she is a take charge no nonsense woman. Great story with lots of action and emotion.

He needed someone that saw behind the deadness in his eyes. The Southern-born spitfire was that one. Jess was missing home and a little envious of the happiness her best friend had found. Only she didn't know what she wanted was standing before her. Warp is a survivor of a rough childhood, and Jess will become the light to his darken soul.
Enjoy the story despite the errors here and there.

Heartbreaking but beautiful! Spoiler
Shayla Colt did a wonderful job of how she incorporated male sexual abuse trauma into the storyline. Way to often we only focus on the females, but working with traumatized young men can break your heart. Jess and Warp had a long road and will still have in their relationship, but the chemistry and unconditional love the have will help fill in the potholes.

Warp and Jess' story was a compelling, steamy, action packed read from beginning to end. I do love a strong, independent women who does take any nonsense from these big tough bikers. Al the books I've read so far in the Kings of Chaos M.C. read like standalone books, so you can skip around like I have.

The attraction between these two is off the meter!
This had a lovely storyline with plenty of spice and characters with REAL ISSUES. I liked that it's full of strong alpha men who will do anything for their family, but also gives us a strong female lead.
In the end, it was a quick read for me that I was engrossed in. We get snippets of past main characters, which is always great in a series.
