So much more than a romance story...
I cried, I laughed, I cried, I laughed, I swooned... what a fabulous book. The banter between friends was a joy. I couldn't stop listening to it, and consumed it in two days.
Autumn did an amazing job of narrating this, I totally enjoyed every moment, she was so believable, funny, sensitive, with all the feels. She definitely brought the characters to life, feel like they are people I really know. And thank you Autumn for having such a natural rhythm that nothing felt forced or robotic... you created magic with Robert's words. I will be reading or listening to Robert's other books after this rollercoaster ride...

I had the unique privilege to text with the author as I read this book. I’ve never read a paranormal romance novel. It’s not a genre I go to typically. It surprised me in both the way it made me laugh and the way it evoked my tears. I am in the middle of reading Ross’s Sentinels of Creation series with my kids- and decided to take a side trip with this one for a new years present to myself.

Having become a fan first through the Sentinels series and then through Paradigm 2045 (my fav), I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, but I was not disappointed. The characters are just the way I like to find them in a book, strangers at first but people you like and want in your life by the end of it. The story here too was great, but I won't give anything away. It's worth your time.

Also, as an avid audiobook listener/reader, Ross always has the best narrator to give voice to the characters. Here again, he picked a winner for this one. Autumn Juliet did a fantastic job.

If you already like Ross' books, you'll like this one too. If you find Ross through this book, pick up his other ones. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll smile, and you'll finish the book wishing that the characters will come back to take you on another adventure in the future.

I was duped into reading this book for two reasons: 1) It was free and 2) the reviews on Good Reads were so high. Little did I notice there were only 17! The synopsis of this book was well written; honestly, better than the book itself. We start in the future and go back to the past, mostly set in 2020-2021. The book uses the death of one of the characters as a catalyst to the MC finding a new love and moving on with his life. The supernatural aspects of this book are far too religious in my opinion to really be fantasy. And the religion is very heavy handed at the end of the book, which is definitely not my thing, but may explain the high ratings from possible fellow congregation members. Overall, the writing was okay. The characters were far too pretentious and witty for my taste- constantly joking and insulting each other, but having a supposed deep love for each other as well. Everyone was way too rich and no one way worried about the pandemic in a way that seems reasonable for that time period. So I'm not sure why 2020 was chosen, but my personal experience during the pandemic was far different. Also there were some very odd references, such as the ones about Wyoming, which just seemed so obtuse. This is the closest I've come lately to not finishing a book, but I did it. I would never read this again and I wouldn't recommend to anyone either.
