Renowned for its exclusivity, only the children of Korea’s elite can attend International Island High. But when Kang Doha, an ordinary girl from an average family, is given a lucky chance to enroll, she’s thrust into an unfamiliar world of money and power. Despite trying to fly under the radar, she somehow ends up in the same dorm as Rowoon, the most popular guy in school! He seems to have it all, but when it comes to girls, he’s completely clueless. Can Doha teach him how to win a girl’s heart?
The magic stones are kinda random for this kind of story, there is not much explanation for that kind of special magic but I guess the author just wanted a quick way for them to read each other’s thoughts. The story is very cliche, same rich boy and poor girl storyline but at least it is entertaining because of the school system.
Absolutely the best high school romcom webtoon I’ve read. If this became a kdrama I’d definitely watch. It was fun and quirky. A little silly at times but the story was great and the art was even better.
Doha and Rowoon were so cute I absolutely loved them and how much they grew as characters. Rowoon was so sweet when he was comfortable around Doha
Need a light read. Definitely recommend this series. It’s a shame it ended, it would’ve been great to see Dohee and Sookyum as a side story cause there would’ve been romance there for sure!
Doha and Rowoon were very cute but it’s the way that there was so build up for Theo vs. Rowoon and it ended so… BORINGLY????? WHAT’S THE POINT??????? ALSO IZZY UR SO STUPID THAT MF PLAYED SO MANY GIRLS AND HE WAS PLAYING U N U STILL GOT WITH HIM??????

1. I always have a thing against financial caste systems and ngl that bit did make me feel a bit uncomfortable here too. But that was mostly relevant for the setting and the setup and the rest of the story read like a standard school romance. And I don't ask for much from a school romance- just decent communication skills and well-meaning characters. I know, it's very basic. But it floats my boat.
2. ANYWAY, these two fit the bill. They were cute, and their relationship was cute. The side characters were fine. The minor fantasy element for plot convenience nicely circumvents all the practical issues of cross-class relationships in a setting so very defined by class.
3. I feel like this is one of those stories where the setting can sometimes make you roll your eyes at how contrived it is, but where the emotional beats of the characters feel pretty consistent and that kindof offsets the wtf-ery of the setting.
4. Anyway. Don't read this if you are in an eat-the0rich kind of mood. Read it if you want something fluffy.
This was a fun, easy read. The main theme was definitely romance. I easily connected with the main character and was rooting for her the whole time; she's honest and kind. The book also made me laugh a few times, especially because of the male lead, which is always a plus. I also felt like the side characters were well-developed and had their own stories to tell.
The main downside to this story is the epilogue. It flashes ten years into the future and it feels like everything is the same, aside from them being out of high school. Everyone with the same people, no marriage, no kids? They don't look that much different either. The only progression is their careers.
The story is a bit cliche with rich guy and poor girl. It felt like a kdrama. I can totally see it be adapt into one with the little element of magic of the necklace and earring. The beginning I really enjoyed it but afterwards it just started feeling a bit cliche and the conflicts were so easily overcame. The unjust of the school’s hierarchy system was just magically changed just because the ML said so, felt a bit underwhelming, like they were rushing the ending. I did love the main leads they were so cute together. I really love Rowoon he gives golden retriever energy 💕☺️

3.5. They were cute and Rowoon's character development was the sweetest! The art was gorgeous, the plot and the birthstone thing made no sense but it was alright. Was disappointing how Theo faced no actual repercussions from a single soul for all the shit he did tho. Instead Rowoon apologised to him??????????? For something his father did????????? Unbelievable
this is one from the few comics I've ever completed week after week on tapas and It never got old. Sometimes a little cringe or surreal but really endearing and wholesome for a story from high schoolers coming from a collage student.
At first, Rowoon being so clueless was frustrating but as the story progresses, he is much more caring and thoughtful towards Doha. He begins to change when she became his mentor to help him understand social cues better.
The concept of telepathy through birthstones was also an interesting part to this story as well. It played an important role to the relationship development between Doha and Rowoon.
I found myself binge reading this because the comedy and drama alongside the romance was keeping me hooked. I also tend to love academic settings and the exploration of social hierarchy, which made this captivating. I was expecting a good outcome from the issues that arose from the differences in class.
It was predictable in some areas because of common tropes, but I am satisfied with the ending! I enjoyed reading this.
