“W-What do you- I mean can I- are you here to rob us?” The person managed to stammer out.
Siren snorted. “No. I’m just here to order some food.”
“Wh-What about him?” The cashier asked, glancing at Tommy. “Did you- did you kidnap him?”
“I mean… yeah, let’s go with that in case this ends up on the news,” Siren shrugged, looking back at Tommy. “I kidnapped you, right?”
“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
This was really fucking good. I loved Tommy and Wilbur/Siren's dynamic and everybody else as a character was really fucking good. I liked that bonesandthebees(the author) was able to continuously add conflict in an interesting way that made sense and wasn't exhausting, with of course those times where it was chill until it wasn't lol. And I feel like me reading this in under a week with it being almost 200k+ words is enough said lmao. Chapter 25 was pretty good, I started crying though because I thought Wilbur was going to die which I mean he did and he got the cool white streak :)

UGH !!! I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I also listened to this on audiobook (The YouTuber I use is Passerine Podcasts!!) But WOW the story for this is amazing it reminds me so much of the show The Boys, and I love stuff like that! The writting for this is equally as good as Passerine, I love the friendship between Tommy and Wilbur their little fights and how nice their relationship feels. There had been parts in this story were I litterly laughed out loud or had a big smile on my face. So go read this epic book
you can't believe it if i tell you how much i cried before the ending chapter. yesterday i saw an animation about wilbur dying and instantly started crying nonstop then today when i got that chapter i cried more. i thought ' okay, this is it i guess? wilbur died so i am just going to sleep while trying to get rid of the fucking pain in my chest ' because that chapter ending KILLED ME. LIKE LITERALLY I JUST COULDN'T BREATHE FOR THIRTY MINUTES STRAIGHT. then a new chapter started with tommy waking up from sleep and my mind immediately went dark. let me drop a dialogue i did with my inner voice: -HE WOKE UP??? holy shit please don't say everything was just a dream PLEASE. -nope, phil says wilbur is in his room rn -BUT EVERYTHING CAN STILL BE A DREAM??? -they are going his room shut the fuck up courgette -HOLY MOTHER WILBUR???? HE IS ALIVE?? WHAT THE FUCK??? HIS HAIR?? A WHITE STREAK???? -i told you it wasn't just a dream -i know but i was scared I AM STILL SCARED AND OH tommy crying, oh fuc- i am crying -stop crying and continue reading -okay, oh God WILBUR PLAYING SINCE I SAW VIENNA THIS IS IT I DIE
this can be a fanfiction but for me it's a literary masterpiece, that i decided to own a copy of on a sunday morning without thinking and broke me into pieces at 3 a.m., written by an ao3 user.
that's all, end of the story. good night friends

in my opinion the book has a very open ending, I would really like to know if the Syndicate managed to defeat Dream and how. And in my opinion all the characters are blind (except Wilbur and Tubbo). I think that if Dream thought a little he would be able to discover the identity of the Syndicate considering that he knows Tommy's identity he can easily find the files of who adopted him and then it's all downhill from there. The nicknames are well suited to the characters and the relationships between the characters are shown in a very cute way. I don't like how the authorities are helpless and do almost nothing. The book shows the realities of today's media and how the internet manipulates us, we also see a lot of references to the thread that not all bad is bad and not all good is good.

Might be one of my favorite Dsmp fics, along with Passerine anf ff1970. This book belongs to the dsmp fanfic masterlist, as I call it. Basically if you are in the fandom you're almost forced to read this because it's one of the most famous fics of the fandom. You toootally should read it tbh
HOLY COW! THIS WAS EPIC! It was one of the best written Fan-Fictions I've read/listened to in a while. It had me wanting to listen to more. It was constantly on my mind, and I couldn't get enough of it. 10/10 would recommend to any dsmp fan.
Yes, another dsmp fic. Another tommyinnit fic. I know. You can't fault me at all, these are so good😭 Also, this is so dnsnbfsk i did not read the fluff and angst of an almost 200k-word book only for goodreads to put it as 25 pages
incredible. This was one of the first dream smp fics I ever read, and it's become a tradition to re-read it every month since I first read it Personally, i'm not a big fan of superhero AUs, but this one grabbed me by the throat and never let go. Can anyone recommend similar fanfics please???
YES i just reread this in the big year of 2025 YES im lowkey ashamed but also idec it’s so good if i just ignore that it’s based on THOSE people (me when i still regularly watch tommy jack and tubbo)
As great as it was, it felt as though it dragged a little longer than needed. The writing and the relationships make up for it though. First time I read it, I cried.
Great book. The beginning with Siren is a different beginning to any of these stories I’ve read before. Tommys interaction with Dream and 404 had me on my toes both times I’ve read it.
