In this practical primer, you will learn why and how we should prepare for a new digital renaissance and what it means in terms of job opportunities, investments, and new business models.
By reading this book, I invite you to start yourself on a journey of becoming a digital investor, a metaverse business owner, a virtual real estate mogul, voxel architect, or simply a curious onlooker to the latest chapter of the Internet.
What you will learn from reading this - Who and what will power the metaverse - New business opportunities in the virtual economy and the web3 era - Introduction to decentralized worlds including Decentraland, Axie Infinity, SuperWorld, Cryptovoxels, The Sandbox, and Somnium Space - Insight into investing in virtual real estate, including the buy & flip approach and hoddling - The role of cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, DAOs, and NFTs in the metaverse
Didn’t learn a lot of new information. Not a lot of specifics and/or details. Lack of details could be related to the Metaverse not fully defined industry and market yet.
A very good start for anyone to understand the hype of Metaverse, general knowledge and information about the current players in that space and some predictions on the future. I suggest reading this if you would like to get a grip of what is the Metaverse hype all about and how can you fit in as a developer, investor or a normal user.
I liked how Winters listed all platforms and players that are targeting different verticals and use cases of the Metaverse.
Yes Terry has the best KISS - Keep It Simple Silly - primer out there and it is up to date. In addition he gives step-by-step instructions on how to get involved in the current metaverses. I own a manufacturing company and want to put my products on to this world. BTW he actually replies to his email!
The author joined up many topics around the metaverses, so it’s a great intro to it (this is not for experts). A book to consult with lots of info and details. - Even though you can find all this info (and updated) on youtube and blogs. But, this is a nice summary.
