She never got to tell him goodbye…

Grace Addison was forced to move after her junior year in high school, and she wasn't given the chance to tell anyone. For the first time in four years, Grace is back in Minnesota. But it's not really the home she once knew. All she ever wanted was to be home and with the boy she always loved.

He's thought of her for years…

After all this time, Nolan Thomas still feels Grace's absence. She disappeared just after they crossed that line between friendship and something more. Now a senior at Ridder U, Nolan plays for the hockey team, studies hard, and has never given up hope that Grace might wander back into his life.

Then he sees her in the library.

Will Nolan be able to reach the girl he once knew or will Grace's dark past stop them from having a bright future?

Featuring ~ dual POV, college, second chance, minimal steamage

This is a sweet story of young love between Grace and Nolan. They finally find their way back to each other after four years apart. I love that their story is told in both of their point of view.
I'm struggling with how Nolan didn't know why Grace left though as someone must have known what happened. And I want to know how what happened happened.
If you're looking for a cute, quick read give this one a try.

Grace and Nolan's Story . . .

Grace and Nolan knew each other so well and took comfort in a deep friendship. Then Grace disappeared from Nolan’s life without a word the summer before their senior year of high school. He never heard from her about what was going on. She was just gone.

It wasn’t until their senior year of college at Ridder U when Nolan Thomas saw Grace Addison at the college library where she worked part-time. She had known he was there at the college, having followed his sports data as he played hockey. But he had truly just found her now and did not want to ever let her go again. She had a dark past that changed her. Nolan didn’t push, knowing she would confide in him when she fully trusted him. As old familiar habits brought back old feelings, she was able to tell her story. Would they both be ready for a serious relationship now? Or was she too broken to open up that completely?

If you are looking for something really quick and cute to read this is perfect for you. This took me less than an hour to read but I still enjoyed it. This story follows Grace and Nolan who grew up together and were best friends, but she was forced to move after her junior year in high school and couldn't tell anyone. You start this book when Grace and Nolan are Seniors in college. Nolan has never forgotten about Grace and so when he sees her for the first time in over four years he is speechless. This story shows them finding each other again and more. Again, it is a super quick read but irresistibly cute.

This is the first book in a new series, and it's a short but very touching story. Grace disappeared from Nolan's life, and nothing has ever been right for either of them. When he runs into her at the university, this is his opportunity to move forward with her. I love that all of his friends refer to her at "THE Grace". I really enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to the more in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hooked is exactly what you become quickly with this great story. Following Grace and Nolan as their stories unfold keeps you very engaged. Enjoy the surprises that come up just when you didn’t expect them of course.

Short but sweet

Lots of shorts rush the story or put in too many details. This one had good timing and a well rounded cute storyline.

Wow. This was. Well … bad. It needed serious editing, I’m not sure that the author could have gone down a more stereotypical route in portraying hockey players, and does every character have to be perfect, perfect, sickeningly perfect? The sex scene was so unsexy it probably should have just been left at closed door but then the book would have been that much shorter. I’m glad I got this for free because it’s only redeeming quality is that it was short enough for me to read while my baby napped.

Lol this was one of the shortest books I’ve read. I’ve never read a sport romance before but I liked it! Short chapters and I like how respectful Nolan is. But the name Hickney is not it 😰

This is a sweet novella of a high school couple who got split up and were separated for four years, without a word. Grace Addison and Nolan Thomas went to prom together, shared a kiss and a night of passion, but shortly after she disappeared in the night. Nolan looked everywhere for the girl that he loved, but he never did find her. Was she looking for him and why did she seem to disappear entirely? Her grandmother came to get her when there was an accident and Grace couldn't live by herself. Four years later she's back in Minnesota, at Ridder University where Nolan plays hockey. She has silently watched him since the day she arrived, but she's stayed hidden in the background and he never sees her until the elevator door opens and they look right into each other's eyes. He can't believe it and does his best to find her, and when he does she tries to push him away. Yes, she still loves him but he won't look at her the same when he sees what's happened to her. It was a shockingly dark surprise, but Nolan was an angel and helped her through her initial fear that he would push her away. This is a truly delightful story of trauma and healing, as well as a never-ending love.

This is my first read by this author, and I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline and the characters. It is a second chance romance between former high school best friends, Grace and Nolan. Once they re-connect, it is a journey of self-discovery as these two likeable characters figure out a renewed relationship between them with love and intimacy while overcoming life's challenges. It is a love story dealing with maturing love, forgiveness, and redemption, along with some drama, humor, and steam, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. A quick read with a happy for now ending.

This is the first book by Lynn Stevens that I have read. I loved the story of Grace and Nolan, the author wrote a beautiful story on second chance love. It had me grabbing a tissue at one point. Their friendship in high school turned into more during their Junior Prom. That summer Grace disappeared and no one knew where she had gone. Four years later they came together again at Ridder U. Highly recommend this story as the author has great talent in writing her stories with feeling that grabs you so you need to keep reading to the end. She has been added to my favorite author’s list and I will be looking for more of her work.

If you are looking for a really fast, like a hour fast, read, this is the book for you. Although separated while seniors in high school because of a tragedy, Grace and Nolan find they are seniors at the same college. Grace has been aware of Nolan at their college, Nolan doesn't know till he sees her in the library and is thrilled to see her. He wants to now what happened to her and he thinks he might still be in love with her. The book for being so short really packs a lot in, tragedy, steam, drama, and more. Solid read

Grace and Nolan had been best friends and just crossed the line when she disappeared one night during their senior year. Now four years later, they see each other at the college library and he can not believe he gets another chance with her. The characters have great backstories and intense feelings that never left them during those years. The storyline has drama, surprises, forgiveness, and steam. Loved that even though they each changed, they were still bonded at the core level of their relationship, so anything was possible. Great ending.

3.5⭐️

Although I would have liked it to have been a little longer, the story and the characters are quite good.
Grace and Nolan have been friends as children and had something else in high school until Grace left without a word.
Now 4 years later Grace and Nolan meet again at the university.
Grace has been trying to avoid Nolan since it hurt her too much to see that he had continued with his love life, but as soon as he finally finds out about her presence he doesn't stop until he gets a date with her.
As I said, it is somewhat short but you will still find a beautiful love story with emotional moments.

This is the first story in the new "Rider U Hockey" series. It is a stand alone short and quick read. The story is a second chance romance about Grace and Nolan. They were friends in high school until they went for it all and fell in love. She went to camp that summer but never returned to her home. Now four years later they see each other again. They are both working on their college education now. He plays for the hockey team and she works in the library. When he sees her he is shocked. This is such an emotional and touching story. I love the surprise ending.

A quick sweet read with a pinch of angst regarding Grace's past and her four years of ghosting her high school love, Nolan.

Nolan and Grace were high school friends that became more after prom night but were separated after Grace's grandmother fetched her at camp.

Now four years later their paths cross at the same university and the chemistry between them has become even more intense!

Will Grace ever tell Nolan why she disappeared from his life?
Will Nolan finally get his red head love of his life back?

I recommend this book to be read to find out!

When Grace suddenly disappeared from Nolan's life, he was heartbroken. He moved on but never forgot the first girl he loved. When he sees at on campus, he chases her down. Grace seems a bit reluctant to speak with him, but eventually caves and they meet. It seems that they both still have feelings for each other, but will they be able to make it? I thought this romance was sweet but sad, and really loved Nolan and Grace. This was definitely a great addition to my library.

An 86 page novella that took me almost 4 days to read, that should explain a lot. It was just ok, and then awkward, and then tew much. I will say part of my qualm might be with the fact that I can't suspend my belief enough to think that second chance based on high school love is really that deep, but ESPECIALLY when the second chance happens in college. You're basically the same age okay I feel myself ranting so

A sweet story
Sweet and a little sad.
I love this second chance story! In fact, not quite a second chance, but a continuation of their chance - after four years apart.
I like Grace a lot, and her sad story broke my heart.
A must read!

He lost the girl he loved when she suddenly disappeared from his life. Four years later he sees her again. How much of each other is the same? What’s changed? Can they fall in love again? Maybe they never stopped!

This definitely had all the feels. Nolan has missed Grace every day of the four years she’s been gone. After she had to leave town without telling anyone, Grace has finally returned. She and Nolan reconnect but there’s something in her past that threatens their future.
