Ding Dong the witch is dead!
And now the whole town is filled with dread…

This was not how Ember McNair imagined spending the days leading up to her wedding. It should have been the happiest time of her life. Instead, her tiny town was host to yet another unexplained death. This time, it’s the dark witch and perpetual thorn in everyone’s side, Cassandra.

At first everything thinks it’s a suicide, but the more Ember investigates with her feline familiar and her friends, the more she’s convinced it’s a murder.

Which means the murderer is out there, trying to cover their tracks. It could be anyone. Even her long lost sister, Ash, who somehow managed to have her memories wiped from Ember’s brain. She can’t be sure, but Ember can’t help thinking there’s a connection with Ash showing up and Cassandra croaking.

But with Ember’s wedding coming up and jealousy running high, will this sassy witch solve the crime and discover the secrets that Cassandra left behind? Or will those secrets spill out and take the whole town with it?

This is book six of the Kitten Witch Cozy Mystery series and it is just a week until witch Ember McNair gets married to her wolf shifter fiancé and Sheriff Cedric Jamieson. The best gift she could have received for her wedding is the presence and existence of her older sister Ash, who made a mistake some seventeen years ago. Ash had tried to make sure her sneaking out to visit a dark witch coven was wiped from her family’s memories, but the spell she was given from a dark witch and supposed friend at the time, Cassandra, went drastically wrong, and she ended up wiping all memory of her existence from her family’s memory. It has taken her a long time to figure out how to correct this error and not be dragged into the dark coven because of her mistake. Now Ember finally has her missing memories back, but she doesn’t know her sister very well, as such a long time has gone past. She need to learn all about who she is now and what sort of person she really is.

What doesn’t help is that so close to her wedding, Cedric is called away to a case, which she ends up helping with. A dark witch called Cassandra, who is seems no one has a good word about, has committed suicide, or so it seems at first glance. The more Ember and Cedric investigate, the more the evidence points to murder. When Ember finds that her own sister may have visited the victim the day she was killed and has some very good reasons and possibly even the equipment to have killed her, she becomes Cedric’s number one suspect and Ember has to figure out if she truly knows her sister anymore, or can even trust her. She has the aid of her cat familiar Kali and her best friends, to keep her on track and not forget to do all the last minute preparations for her wedding, as well as try to get to know her long lost sister and find a killer!

Cassandra left behind a husband Tom and step daughter Alice, who was the product of Tom’s first marriage to a rat shifter, Rose. Neither Tom nor his first wife can tell you why they split and got divorced in the first place, so it seems a bit of magic may have been involved, by a witch who wanted what wasn’t available to her! Cassandra pushed to get everything she wanted, no matter who was in the way. She kept a binder full of hate letters, that she loved to read through and got a sick thrill from it. She had a lot of enemies and lots of people are glad she is dead and comment they would have killed her if she hadn’t turned up dead already! But to add a twist, it seems someone was trying to kill her with rat poison as well as strangle her, before she was hung. Only problem now, is that Cassandra wasn’t happy to be dead and has some unfinished business to take care of and will try to take an innocent and use dark magic to do so! Ember and her friends will need to stop her, but also make sure that Ember gets to her wedding on time!

An easy to read book, which if you have missed a couple of the previous books, it doesn’t really matter, as you can pick it up from the story as you go. Good to see Ember get both her long lost sister and her memories back, but also to get to her wedding to her soulmate Cedric on time and in one piece. An interesting investigation, with so many different possible paths to follow and the addition of a happy ending to a long separated family and also a wedding. Can’t get better than that. Ember, the main character of the series, is a witch, but her true skill is solving crime, by helping her now fiancé, the local sheriff.
There are two lines of the story throughout the series - a crime that needs to be solved and the quest about finding out about her older sister and what had happened to her. In this installment, we finally find out about Ember's sister, who comes to visit Ember and help her prepare for the wedding to the sheriff.
But of course there needs to be a death, which this time is truly wicked, as it also involves the sisters and it becomes imperative to save a young woman.
I liked every book in this series, but this one finally giving all answers AND being really full of surprises and suspense, was outstanding.

Ember McNair’s wedding day is almost here! Instead of happily preparing for the best day of her life, she finds the town dealing with another unexplained death. At first assumed a suicide, it looks like the dark witch, Cassandra, has been murdered.

Ember's sister Ash finally shows up. Ash had messed around with dark magic, found it was a mistake, and tried to wipe out the memory of what she had done. But instead, she wiped out her family’s memory of HER. Now she’s back and this murder is making that difficult since there is a huge list of suspects, and Ash is one of the suspects! Will Ember and Cedric be able to track down the murderer before their wedding day?

She owns a pub in a small Louisiana town. The pub has been in her family for many generations. Her best friend is a bat shifter her boyfriend is the local town sheriff as well as a wolf shifter. In the small town there are humans fairies occasional vampires shifters many types other witches and many other paranormal‘s. For the most part the humans are unaware of the paranormal. Amber has a neck for solving mysteries and crimes. Read on and enjoy.

Ember's wedding is fast approaching, a day she and her wolf-shifting fiance have been looking forward to for some time. Just days before the wedding, Ember's sister Ash is there. Ash had tried her hands at dark magic that backfired on her and their family. Now Ember and Ash are trying to make up for lost time, then the most powerful dark witch commits suicide. But it wasn't as it appears and there is a huge list of suspects including Ash!!! Can Ember, Ash, and Cedric find the real murderer before the wedding day? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from Booksprout.

A dead witch and a wedding...
Finally we meet Ash, Ember's long lost sister. And what better way to get to know each other again than solving a murder together?! Ash being one of the suspects is kind of a downside to their day, but apart from that, they get on pretty well. And pre-wedding stress doesn't really add to Ember's rest.
I like it that that we get to know more witches, even when they are dark and evil...

Ember and Cedric finally get ready to wed

Of course, a reunion with her magically redacted sister Ash is thrown in.

Add the death of a dark witch who does not go quietly into the light, a slew of candidates for murder, and a medley of conflicting emotions

Things are really bubbling!

Strong family and community connections and drama

A wedding, forgotton memories, and the death of a dark witch. Will Cedric and Ember ever make it to the altar? Do Ember's parents come to realize and accept Ash is their daughter? Great story with plenty of paranormal action. Thank goodness for the residential ghost who knows just what to do in a sticky situation. Great story with a happy ending and a perfect end to a series.

Ember finally found her lost sister, who had cast a spell to make her parents forget her visiting the dark witches. Instead Ashley made her family forget her, Cedric the sheriff remembered her from when they used to play together as younger children. The murderer got caught before Ember and Cedric got married. Another great book by Corrine Winters!

I really enjoyed this book. When Ember was attempting to plan her wedding, things as always get in the way. A death of a witch occurred and she and the sherrif had to solve the case fast. Will they make it to the alter in time or will the case go unsolved?

This is one of those books that when you reach the end you just sigh happily. Ember finally sees her sister, which was wonderful. She solves a murder and cleared her sister’s name. And she gets married to Cedric! Like I said, happy sigh!

I enjoy the stories Corrine weaves, but this one clearly needed more editing. I can overlook small mistakes. The mistakes in this book completely pulled me out of the story. Was the girl's name April or Alice? I don't know, the book changed what she was called without rhyme or reason. So disappointed because I really want to enjoy these cozy mysteries.

Weddings mixed with magic

How is it possible that each book get better and better making it hard to put down. A sister returned a evil witch removed and a good ghost is gone because he removed the evil witch. WOW. What more can you want in a story.

Needs to be Edited Better

The book might be good, but the editing needs to be much better. The little girl in the book, her name kept going back and forth between Alice and April. The Sheriff's name is Cedric Jamison, yet he refers to his new wife as Mrs. Jennings.

Needs Better Proof Reading

The story was great, love this series; however, there needs to be better proof reading done throughout the series. This book had the most errors.🙁

Ember & Cedric are getting married!! Yay!! But it appears that the universe will not stop at dropping it on them right up to the very 11th hour. A murder, made to look like a suicide of a dark witch, one known to and worked with Ash, the long lost sister that Ember has finally located, making her suspect no. 1 So how do you reconcile your own sister with the family when she may have grown up to become a murderess?

I have enjoyed every book in this series and sad that this is coming to an end, although it works out so well, answering all the questions. Another 5 star read from Winters.
