*Naked Hearts is a STAND-ALONE contemporary romance with no cliffhanger.
Valentina writes contemporary romance. She also writes fantasy and paranormal romance as Vale Ravenna.
Valentina grew up with the elves and the faeries and still looks for dragons in every land she visits.
She went to college twice, getting degrees in theater and psychology because she's crazy like that.
Now, she sips tea in the mountains, writing love books full of passion, pain, and heroes who will, most often than not, be broken. Her books will take you places where your heart will be ripped out, before being put back together again.
She’s terrible at social media but loves to connect with her readers so make sure you join her mailing list for exclusive updates and materials.
This was not a light story. It dealt with serious issues, yet it was touching and wonderfully written.
Enzo and Arie had been through very hard times and neither of them had overcome their traumas. The first time they met, their connection was immediate and strong. As they came closer to each other, their emotional connection was beautifully developed as well as their relationship which blossomed and brought out so many feelings! Cat, Enzo’s 3 y.o. daughter was an angel and I would have liked if she had appeared even more in this journey.
The secondary characters’ roles were very good, even the-asshole-who-shan’t-be-named, the story was engaging and gripping, had very good development and dual pov. The epilogue was amazing!!!
It is such an incredible debut novel. It’s equally beautiful as it is heartbreaking. My advice is to have tissues nearby; you will need them and go in blind.
Please beware there are some triggers. Very intense, it’s not for the faint of heart. You will feel every emotion.
The book starts in the past of Arabel, after a horrific event in her life. Three years later, in the present, she meets Enzo, and both are instantly attracted to each other. Neither has been in a relationship in years.
Both are broken souls that have experienced pain, suffering, grief, PTSD, fighting their demons, and trying to move forward with their lives. It’s also a story of comfort, healing, recovery, love, and happiness. I never read about a couple who deserved so much joy.
You can’t help but fall in love with both the main characters and total awe of them, especially Arabel. To all that she went through, and to move past that. Amazing. She showed such great strength. Of course, there are spicy scenes, and the chemistry is Hot as hell.
I highly recommend Naked Hearts; it's very well written. This book will stick with me for a long time to come—such a beautiful story. I look forward to her future books.
3,5. Please, don’t get me wrong, this book is beautiful, but so angst and predictable! I thought the description of the things soooo long. It’s worth the reading.
It pains me to do this considering the hero is supposedly a doppelganger for Henry Cavill (aka My Future Baby Daddy). But I just couldn't bring myself to keep going. The writing is so cheesy. The characters are ridiculously cheesy. I'm also insulted on Henry's behalf that this limp noodle of a Fabio hero is supposed to come even close to my man. The hero's name is Enzo, nuff said. On top of that and most importantly: the heroine is an OTT theatrical childish bitchy nitwit cause dRaMa. Her backstory is heartbreaking but I'm never a fan of "yeah I'm being a bitch but I can't help myself" types. So yeah, I'm done.
All of the beautiful stars!! A story of two broken souls trying to heal one another, Naked Hearts by debut author Valentina incorporates several dark and triggering topics to show the light that can come from the darkness. Trust and freedom emerge from fear and pain in a world where happiness seems out of reach.
"There was no doubt Lorenzo was a tortured soul. I wanted to save him. I wanted him to save me."
Arabel has suffered through a horrific experience which has caused her to mistrust and fear, not living life to the fullest. She meets Enzo, who harbors dark secrets of his own, and the two spark an instant attraction. Their internal struggles are palpable and create obstacles on their path towards finding their HEA. Unexpected twists create an emotional rollercoaster for the reader as the couple's future seems uncertain. Their journey brought tears to my eyes and breathlessness to my lungs as I hoped for them to break free from their pasts and to find the strength and wisdom needed to thrive.
"I was lost and had no idea how to find my way back, or if I even could."
Reading this book has ripped out my heart and torn it into a million pieces before it was put back together again. Underneath the dark places this story goes, there is a message of hope and inspiration for a positive future, making it quite a worthwhile read. The writing is simply beautiful, descriptive without being overly so, and I look forward to more books by the author. Complex and layered, the characters are ones I found myself highly invested in, including the secondary characters throughout.
I can't say too much more without alluding to spoilers so I will just say that I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who can handle the dark topics since there is so much joy and emotion to come out of this story. The ending has the power to make or break a book and this one was absolutely perfect.
"I saw heartache as a human right, just like anger, happiness, love, and success . And that it was up to us to decide which one would pervade throughout our lives."
** Special thanks to author Valentina for sending me this ARC to read and review. **
I mean it was so realistic in portraying feelings of after being raped, and how victims deal with the trauma everyday - it's definitely not easy. Plus it's so hard to console your family, tell yourself you're okay, even though you're not. Definitely not easy being a rape victim.
But Lorenzo and her sister, and her family was so caring and loving, and understanding about her circumstances. Though yes, there were difficult situations at times, still I saluted all of them for the way they handled it all.
The writing was as smooth as can be, the characters were complex psychologically impossible to crack - stimulated my brain immensely, and just the emotional understanding, and epic steamy scenes were something I looked forward to so much.
PLus the characters - both had gone through a lot of problems and heartache, but how they are there for each other made me swoon for them so much and break heart t00 - because they were just so surreal to me and everything.
I look forward to another novel by Valentina soon. And I can because Mignon - Lorenzo's friend, has her story coming in 2022. So yes, some excitement there for sure. I can't wait.
Arabel and Lorenzo see each other and there is this instant attraction. They start talking but she runs away from him. Her and her sister Fiona go to look at a property for her business and another person walks up and it’s Lorenzo. They keep meeting up but they both feel too broken to give anything a chance. Can they be together? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book
Heads up there are a bunch of situations that are triggering in regard to sexual assault but i still recommend this.
Arabel suffers an unimaginable trauma and lives to tell her story. She meets Lorenzo when she does a cirque show on NYE and kisses him at midnight then runs away when something triggers her.
Lorenzo runs in to Arabel again when they both are looking at the same property and the story goes from there.
They have both been through it and their story has a ton of twists and turns.
If you can handle these sorts of situations then i highly suggest giving it a read!
Naked Hearts is the debut novel by Valentina...and I highly recommend she continues writing!
This book is one that will stay with you. It has dark and triggering elements, so please be aware before reading, but if you can handle triggers, I encourage you to read this story.
It has angst and push and pull between the main characters, Arabel and Enzo. Both having suffered, in different ways, and trying to move on from their past, trying to build the courage to move on. It is a story of suffering, recovering, grief, PTSD. It felt very real, very relatable. People cope and deal with trauma in varying ways and to varying degrees...this book highlights that.
It is a romance and it definitely has sexy sexy scenes...but it is so much more than that. Arabel was fantastic. To go through what she did...I am ever so thankful that I have not and I hope/pray that I never do...as I said, it all felt very real, believable, relatable. Fighting her demons and doing her best to come out victorious. Enzo was great, as well. He has his own demons he is trying to overcome...but still has a sexy, alpha male side to him that was totally swoon worthy.
I can't wait for more!!
Amended to add: even if you have triggers, especially these particular ones (I'm afraid to say specifically what they are for spoilers, but they are listed the foreword), I implore you to read this story. It is a story of coming out of that dark place and finding happiness. You can overcome it and find the light at the end of the tunnel!! You are not alone!!!
Naked Hearts by Valentina was a tremendously emotional read for me as it delved into sensitive and traumatic events and the main characters’ daily fight against their aftermath. Both Arabel and Enzo are so called damaged souls and carry demons of their past and suffer in silence. As fate has it, these two keep meeting at unexpected places and an immediate attraction and bond takes place. After a while, the unlikely couple starts mending each other’s hurts and shedding light to their darkness. (Their chemistry and intimacy are also off the charts which is a very appreciated bonus😉). Overall, Naked Hearts was a beautiful soul-searching and heart-mending story that gave me truly cherished hope and courage to face my own fears and worries. I definitely recommend it for romance readers that are written by authors who are not afraid of digging a little deeper into reader’s souls. Kudos Valentina!
This book will make you want to throw your phone or kindle across the room because of the twist and turns in it,it will break your heart and make your feels be out of control but trust me its worth it. The author did amazing writing this book with the details she wrote and the grabbing of her written words. I highly reccomand you to read this book.
***SPECIAL THANK YOU TO NISHA'S BOOKS AND COFFEE FOR THE ARC***
This review could contain very mild spoilers but I'm trying hard to keep it super vague and give nothing away!
Where do I start with this beauty.
Let's start with the parts not everyone is always keen on in a review, but I am obligated to an honest review.
Valentina poured her heart and soul into this book, and you can tell. I (personally) didn't like that it dragged in a lot of aspects, sometimes my attention was dragged away. But this kind of thing changes and grows with continuous writing and growth. That was the only down side to this book for me.
Now the good parts!
I loved that the trigger warnings were at the very start of the book and they were crystal clear. There was no mistaking that some of the content could be upsetting to lots of individuals.
Arabel's story was so touching and heart breaking and yet you could feel her yearning to be healed and to get away from the victim persona and turn into a survivor. And boy, she kicked her traumas a**.
Lorenzo. Oh sweet, broken Lorenzo. I don't want to give too much away. But fate has a funny way of bringing people together, and Arie and Enzo are perfect examples of this.
The character development was beautiful to watch, the unexpected plots and twists that at the end made you go, "That. Makes. So. Much. Sense."
Each character played such a significant role in the story and it came together so well in the climax and resolution. The journey was beautiful and the character relationships were a joy to experience.
Like I said, some parts can drag but its worth getting through! I can't wait to see what else Valentina comes up with and I wish her all the best in her writing journey! It's definitely worth the read! Go buy it, now. Make sure you keep those trigger warnings in the back of your mind through the whole story. Happy reading!

I’m marking this a spoiler review but it’s really not. . . . . . . . . .
Poignant story …when life becomes your adversary and your scared of your own shadow due to a horrific ordeal. Arabella stays true to herself as she unfurls her hurt to become strong again. She meets a man who finally interests her enough to reach out and want to live again. Lorenzo himself has been through an ordeal which makes him sense something in Arabella.
What did I like? I’m not sure where I come up with most of the ARC’s that I read but this one has a lot of feels. Two broken people coming together to help mend the other. I like how they went against the odds despite what there lives befell them. It was an interesting story and well written. I’d definitely read more by this author! Four stars!
Would I recommend or buy? I like dark romance and how these two come together is not easy. I’m sure you need to read trigger warnings on this one, hopefully author displays them in blurb. I don’t have any triggers but the only reason it lost a star is because it was easy to guess the ending.
Thanks for letting me read this and this is my voluntary review.

Gosh this book! Some heavy themes but it was so well written that it showed women and men how these can awful things can happen to you but it’s the way you bounce back. It highlights the human side of everyone.
The biggest plot twist in the book happened and I didn’t even see it coming! Once again down to how well it was written.
It’s a dual POV from Lorenzo (Enzo) and Arabel. I loved being shown into both of these two worlds. Lorenzo is a billionaire, single dad with a past which haunts him. Arabel is someone who helps those who have faced trauma - even when she is dealing with her own traumas.
I just those these two and I instantly was rooting for these two.
What an amazing, beautifully written story of love and healing this was. You will be taken on a roller coaster of emotions from fear and anxiety to love and contentment, and so many feeling in between. This author has a true gift for being able to bring you into the story as if you were watching your own private movie. Her characters are multi dimensional- not only the main characters but also the supporting characters within this piece of art. Thank you for sharing this sensational story with us.
Warning- this book does have a good amount of triggers within- sexual assault. Such a great book of healing though.
Advanced reader copy received from author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.
What an incredible book and story! I was immersed from the very first Chapter. I have not read anything else by this author and can’t wait to see what comes in the Broken Hearts series.
Just the way to start 2022 with a 5 Star read. This book has some serious subject matters and the reader should definitely heed the author’s trigger warning suggestions. Naked Hearts had everything I expect in a great read !
Loved the cover
Complex characters of Arabel and Lorenzo both dealing with their share of issues
Cute nicknames Cirque and Mr Steel as well as great humorous dialog and funny situations I wasn’t expecting with such serious subject matter
Beautiful setting of Lake Tahoe
Secondary characters who I also hope may get their own stories to tell us !
And last but certainly not least an adorable little girl named Cat !
I loved this book so much I am definitely doing a re-read ! I also loved that the author includes dual endings from both characters points of view !
I devoured this is one sitting. I love it when you truly connect with characters and these leapt of the page straight into my heart 💕 Amazing story and plot and the character development was perfect. Amazing spicy (of course) 🌶🌶 whilst not relying on it to create the story, there is definitely more than enough plot to keep you reading and wanting more. I adored the storyline and yes i cried for the last 10% of the book (thanks for thanks 😭😭). Absolutely loved it :) 100% would recommend!

** Warning ** Be advised that this book contains mature content and themes. Please check trigger warnings before reading. TW includes SA, r@pe, suicide, suicidal thoughts and physical abuse.
Arabel is a beautiful soul with a dark past. She has suffered at the hands of another, and has worked for 3 long years to heal her soul.
Lorenzo is dark and snarly, dealing with his own dark past. From his trauma came a beautiful gift, but he still struggles daily with the events that brought him to this point.
Arabel and Lorenzo meet on New Year's Eve. They have a heated exchange, and Arabel succumbs to her traumatic past, leaving Lorenzo confused at the exchange. Fatefully, they run into each other several weeks later and their story truly begins.
Their relationship is hot, with a lot of push and pull. Through it all, Arabel is a beacon of light and hope, even in her darkest place. She builds relationships and strengthens herself, as well as tries to help heal others.
I ran through a roller coaster of emotions while reading this book. Quite a few times I sat in my bed, holding my breath, waiting to see what happened next. Valentina is a beautiful storyteller and I felt like I was on the sidelines watching the interactions between the characters. I am hoping that she adds books further involving other characters and their stories.
Wow! Where do I begin!? This was a very well written story that made me not want to put it down until I was done. There are definitely triggers for those that may have been affected by abuse and sexual assault. However, if you can get past that, this is a great story. I enjoyed seeing Arabel and Lorenzo work through their tramas together and fall deeply in love with each other. The way the entire story developed and progressed was excellent. To find out who the abuser was to multiple story characters was a bit shocking as well as the truth about Lorenzo's daughter. I was happy that everything worked out in the end for the main characters and enjoyed the journey. Excellent job to the author and I can't wait to read more of her work!

This author absolutely slayed this book. The emotional baggage and physical trauma the characters endured separately is A LOT. This book is heavy.
But the FMC is prob the strongest I’ve ever read. She takes no crap, doesn’t let the past define her and is willing to take risks to help others in their own personal journeys of healing.
It even has quite a shock factor finding out who the villain of the story is and even more secrets are unearthed. Also there’s some omgah squeal swoony moments too!
This was such a great read! I had never read anything by this author before, but you can bet this won't be my last! Valentina is an amazing storyteller, and it was so well-written! I am so impressed by her.
Possible triggers: R@pe and violence.
Lorenzo and Arabel were so amazing together! Their chemistry was off the charts sizzling, and they were just so perfect for each other. Along with the story behind the story, it was really hard to put it down! I loved everything about this story, and I highly recommend it with more than five stars!!!
The story follows Arabel and Lorenzo , two beautiful and full of hurt souls. Gosh , the rollercoaster of emotions that was in this book , absolutely phenomenal.
I won’t deny it , I loved both of them so much, and I’m sure that this story will stay with me for a while. Seeing them overcome all of their problems, and come out full of hope and happiness made me so incredibly proud.
Both of them came from a troubled past , each with different kinds of scars deeply etched into their souls , then one night , somehow, these two beautiful people they each other.
Character development was amazing , seeing as both were still in a dark place at the beginning of the book , getting to see how they manage to get through everything and how empowering their whole journey was its incredible.
Had to mention this , it was just so refreshing to see an Italian , that’s not in the mafia. 😮💨
This book deals with heavy topics, make sure to check CW.
I have received an ARC copy of this book , with that being said , this is my honest opinion.
A great story with a HEA definitely worth reading. Arabel is a strong and caring character I love her personality and how she chooses to be strong and move on with her life. Lorenzo and Arabel have great chemistry. Theres alot of twist and turns and all of my questions were answered by the end of the book. This is my first book from this author I cant wait to read more of her books.
This is the debut novel by Valentina, and it is an absolutely incredible story.
*Warning* Please be advised that this book does contain mature content/themes, and there are triggers that may not be suitable to all readers, including sexual assault, suicidal thoughts, suicide, and physical and verbal abuse.
The story follows Arabel, who meets Lorenzo on New Year's Eve in San Francisco, during a dance performance. Their eyes find each other’s and there is an instant connection. However, Arabel's past causes her to be wary of him, and she runs off at midnight, thinking she'll never see him again. But fate has other plans.
When Arabel and her sister move from the city to the Lake Tahoe area, they run into Lorenzo and the story takes off from there. There are so many ups and downs, and they realize they have more in common than they ever knew. Both Arabel and Lorenzo have terrible past traumas that come up throughout the story, and while they find comfort and solace in each other, the past rears its ugly head, making readers wonder if they will ever find love or happiness again.
This book was amazingly written. Some aspects of the story are based on real-life experiences. It was heartbreaking, raw, and real and touched on some hard subjects. Sometimes the pain can overwhelm you, but other times the pain can be healed and you can come out stronger on the other side.
This book was beautifully written for the serious topics that are covered. Arabel and Enzo are messy and messed up, but together they make sense and heal each other.
Naked Hearts is a hard read. It has some very difficult topics and very difficult scenes, but the author does a wonderful job of being sensitive and factual of those topics. It start off very heavy and it’s a difficult read for anyone who has experienced any sort of sexual assault or trauma. But it’s also a story about a woman who is struggling to overcome her trauma and, again, the author is amazing at showcasing that aspect.
Arabel is one amazing woman and what she dreams to accomplish is inspiring. What she experiences with Enzo is liberating and beautiful and emotional. I felt all her emotions throughout the story and my heart bled with her so many times.
Enzo was frustrating, as so many men are. I understand why he is the way he, but he drove me crazy at times and I wanted to scream at him so many times to get his head straight or get out! His one redeeming factor for much of the story was what a great dad he was. I was cheering for him and hopeful he’d come around and was glad he didn’t let me down!
Naked Hearts is a definite read, just be aware of the difficult content. I loved the story, from beginning to end. The writing was great and the authors style of writing is super sensitive to the topics. Loved and recommend!

This is a deeply emotional, deeply passionate, and beautiful love story. Arabel and Lorenzo have both dealt with deep tragedy, which has left them scarred and hesitant to open themselves up to love again. But a spark is ignited between them when they briefly meet on New Years Eve, which is quickly doused by an unexpected moment of panic triggered in Anabel that separates them without even knowing the other’s name.
But fate intervenes, thrusting them together, interested in the same property to purchase, which then puts them at odds, despite the intense chemistry popping between them. Every time they seem to be making progress toward each other, something happens leaving one of them retreating, but all the while, both are pining for each other in silence. They have to learn to not only trust each other, but trust themselves to move past their trauma, knowing that they can hold each other up. Emotions are high, the steam is even higher, and the HEA is oh so satisfying.
This story will hit you deep in your soul and wrap around you heart! It’s heartbreaking and emotional and worth every year I shed. Lorenzo and Arabel are completely meant for one another they meet and sparks fly but Arabel has been through something very traumatic and is spooked causing her run. They meet later and this is where their love story begins. Both of them have been through so much and both are a bit broken but together they start to heal and while not everything is sunshine and rainbows their love for one another out shines the dark times. Together they begin a new life filled with love, honor, and happiness that they both deserve. This story is filled with twists and turns and is definitely not for the faint of heart but it’s worth every single moment. This is one of those books that is so moving and will have you thinking about it for days after you have finished reading it. I loved every single moment. Definitely a must read!
This book was sent to me for an honest opinion. I won't say much because, honestly, if I do, I will ruin the book for others. I'm not entirely sure what to say about this book because I don't think words can describe how beautiful it is. It honestly was a lot to take in from the first to the last page. This caused my heart to shatter, my soul to cry, and after it all, it healed my heart. The H and the h I felt were strong in their own ways, and it showed through the pages. I will admit there were a few times I wanted to throat punch Enzo (during a twist).
Make sure to go to the very last page and remember the number ❤
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This was my first book by this author and is the first book in the Broken Hearts series. *warning* this book does contain abuse/rape that could be triggers for some. Arabella and Lorenzo both have dark haunting past. Arabella with the unthinkable happening to her and Lorenzo with the love of his life's death. Together they can help each other heal and be the family Catarina needs. This book did go slow at times but I was so glad I kept going. The ending was so worth it and Cat totally won my heart.
