Falling In: The Lakeville Project: Book One

Rate this book
Falling In is the first book in C.S. Robbie’s young adult series called The Lakeville Project . With Chelsea Raleigh’s parents off to Europe for the summer, she has the house to herself, every eighteen-year-old’s dream come true. Except in Chelsea’s case, her parents are barely out the door when her dream begins to spiral into a nightmare.

Are the terrifying hallucinations real, or is she losing her mind? Is her ex-boyfriend stalking her, or is Brent just a heartbroken boy looking for answers? Is her new love as innocent as he claims to be, or is Cole hiding something?

As the world she knows collides with the truth, her evil maker watches on in anticipation. He knows it is only a matter of time before her powers emerge. And when they do, the Lakeville Project will be set in motion— and there's no escape from that.

This book was alright, definitely a 3 star. It kinda was confusing at first, and hard to follow. I thought it was a thriller but it is definitely more sci-fi. It was cool to read a book with locations I'm familiar with, though. It was well written, it just honestly wasn't my cup of tea.

Loved this book and the local connections to the finger lakes! The story started off slow but then turned riveting and addicting where I could not stop reading till the end. Can’t wait for book two!

⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Interesting plot and it was really cool that the story took place in a town i’m very familiar with!
My only complaints would be a few grammatical errors (most occurring with in the first half of the book, but gradually become rare within the last half), random plot holes here and there, and finding a few of the characters almost agitating (due to the plot holes and their personalities). Overall, a fast read and good first book! I can definitely see myself reading the next book in the series in the near future!
