For Rs.59 And It Is Absolutely Worth It. This Book Has About 410 Pages Of Reading. I expected more, a lot of more.
The story had potential but wasn't well developed. I felt like many random things happened and the writer didn't managed to get them to work together. Though I didn't Like this story that much but I Still Would Love To Read Her Other Stories. The Cover Photo Is Really Fantastic. The Story Is About A Family Torn Apart By Their Father After Their Mother Dies. It Is About How The Family Reunites Again And A Lot Of Things Happening In Between Before They Meet.😊🙏💫

Magdalena Brodie’s mother died in a London workhouse just before Christmas. Her father returns from being at sea only to rehome Magda with her aunt - his brothers wife - who treats her very poorly. This is a story about Magdas upbringing against all odds and attempts to reunite with her twin sisters Venetia & Anna Marie who went to live with their grandparents in Ireland and her baby brother Micheal, given up for adoption.
Brilliantly written, engaging characters who you can really get behind and support throughout the book, a well thought out storyline with a great, happy ending.

It could've been a great story if only the timeline wasn't that messed up, at first I thought my book was misprinted, but how come in one year Susan got married and had 2 kids already while Magda was still in her 2nd year of medical, and a little baby was 16 years old in just ten years.

Daniel had a potential to be more than just a courtier to Magda, he should've been the one to seek out the family, its just my opinion though.

The starting was too slow and the ending was too rushed.

Apart from all, the good thing about the novel was how it gave an insight of old england, its conservative atmosphere towards women.

I loved Venetia's character a lot, she was the most realistic character, daring to chase her dreams in that time.

In some part of the plot the scene traveled from another one in a confusing away, and how a baby young enough to need be held by arms is sixteen years old 10 years later?

I have just finished this amazing book, I just wanted it to go on and on, the story is amazing and it certainly held me from the beginning, so sad that the family was split up, and the family had some really hard times!

This is the first book that I have read by this author but I settled straight in to her writing style. I would like to read more by this author in future.

The book is mainly narrated by three sisters, the chapter title tells you each time who is narrating so there is no confusion. It was very easy to follow

The only thing I did find disappointing was the ending, I felt that the whole book had been leading up to the ending and then it was very much rushed. It didn't fit with the style and pace of the rest of the story. I would have liked to have seen at least triple the number of chapters which contributed to the ending of the story

This book was pretty dark, unusual for a Christmas themed novel.It is about a family of children separated after a Mother's death and one Christmas together in a workhouse before they are all separated. It was a bit disjointed but I think that it is a true Christmas novel, all about the importance of family, hope and redemption.
