The world of Hoodoo is completely new to me and to be honest i had not heard of it before getting this book. I was intrigued to understand what it was and what it involved. The author explained this very well and with some of the spells made it very interesting to read. I enjoyed the learning aspect but Hoodoo is not something I could practise myself. But thank you for the lesson in history and culture.
Good reading 📚 have not learned something new in a book for a while. If your a beginner looking to learn start here I'm not really hard core when it come to practices I stick to innocence and candles. But the history and knowledge is very practical it will ease the fear of Hoodoo.
Miss Moon's Hoodoo Guide This is a great beginner's book on Hoodoo, Miss Moon has written well on the history, practice, and spell work of Hoodoo. This is a nice addition of my mystical library. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The book was a bit of a let down, while the author offers an interesting perspoective on the mechanics and ethics of magickal practice it lacks ther very thing the title promises, spells. I could not find really any worthwhile information on hoodoo spellcraft that would validate the title of the book. In fact the book feels like it's more of a personal take on the mechanics of spiritual practices and magick but whole that may be interesting, a spell book it does not make. The title and the genre of the book should be changed and reflect the actual information the book provides, because at the moment a "Hoodoo Book of Spells for Beginners" does not match the material within.
The Hoodoo Book of Spells for beginners is a very well written and informative book, but the title is VERY misleading.
There were no “Spells for Beginners”, but the information it did give was very insightful and cleared some things up for me. I’ll be able to practice the tips and tricks that were provided and start my journey.
It is a 2 for me, because the misleading title and no real direction that there might be a book of Spells for Beginners that *should have been added to the book.
I enjoyed this book a lot as I’m on a new path onto healing and becoming the best version of myself day by day. Thank you for sharing this book with the great insights and new things to try and add onto my toolbox.
This book has nothing to do with the title and mentions nothing of any of the African deities. 3 stars because it was interesting. But it is a book listing a few ways one may connect with the universe.
