KELLY THOMPSON has a degree in Sequential Art from The Savannah College of Art & Design. Her love of comics and superheroes have compelled her since she first discovered them as a teenager. Currently living in Portland, Oregon with her boyfriend and the two brilliant cats that run their lives, you can find Kelly all over the Internet where she is generally well liked, except where she's detested.
Kelly has published two novels - THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING (2012) and STORYKILLER (2014) and the graphic novel HEART IN A BOX from Dark Horse Comics (2015). She's currently writing ROGUE & GAMBIT, HAWKEYE, and PHASMA for Marvel Comics and GHOSTBUSTERS for IDW. Other major credits include: A-Force, Captain Marvel & The Carol Corps, Jem and The Holograms, Misfits, Power Rangers Pink, and the creator-owned mini-series Mega Princess.
Kelly's ambitions are eclipsed only by her desire to exist entirely in pajamas. Fortunately pajamas and writers go hand in hand (most of the time). Please buy all her stuff so that she can buy (and wear) more pajamas.
A series of shorts that has no right being as cute as it is. Like, seriously, Jeff is the most adorable Marvel protagonist to ever exist. Who knew that following the life of a land shark could be so interesting?
Absolutely adorable! I've wanted to read it for so long and now I finally got the chance! It's a light read to read when you have time Just a 12 really small issues about Jeff the Land Shark's adventures I absolutely can't wait for more:)
Kelly Thompson was already one of my favourite writers, but now? God tier. Gurihuru’s art? Delightful. My 7-year-old loves Jeff. And you know what? So do I!
obsessed with jeff and he's got the cutest lore to dive into! short digital comics in a vertical scrolling format. the slow reveals were fun! jeff is adorable!!!
It’s Jeff! Jeff the Land Shark is an adorable Marvel companion who has seemingly taken the world by storm. He first appeared on the pages of West Coast Avengers, and since then, he has been working hard to win over every superhero in the industry.
He’s also won over our hearts, which explains how he got his own Infinity Comic run! Enter lots of slice-of-life style antics revolving around a beloved character.
Review:
Jeff! Seriously, Jeff may be my all-time favorite Marvel character, and that’s saying something. He’s so cute and funny. Jeff the Land Shark appeared alongside another one of my favorite characters (Gwenpool, she doesn’t get the same hype), and I’ve been following his story ever since.
It's Jeff! Infinity Comic is adorable chaos. The comics are more slice-of-life style antics, largely told in a nonverbal format. Gurihiru’s artwork works hard to take Kelly Thompson’s adorable character to the next level, and I am here for it.
This volume compiles the first 12 issues, but don’t worry, there are plenty more! Personally, I’m binge-reading these now before diving into Jeff’s current comic run, which is printed! I’m so happy this character is getting the attention he deserves.
Highlights: Jeff the Land Shark Jeff Shenaningans Largely Non-Verbal Storytelling
but being serious for a second, this did everything it wanted to do perfectly, it was nice seeing a silent comic since they aren't as common nowadays and it fitted the series very well since it allowed the readers to get more focus and get more invested in the whole vibes of the comic without being bogged down by dialogue, the plots are simple but cute and didn't really need words so it was a good choice for this comic (not to mention it makes the comic more accessible for more audiences like younger or foreign readers)
also, I have to mention that the art is incredibly adorable, has a creative use of its verticle panels, and makes everyone (especially jeff) look adorable
and the last chapter being about a feast with friends also made this a fitting read to enjoy during this new years eve :)
So I guess Marvel is trying to bring in more subscribers by introducing infinity comics. Will this help gain Marvel subscriptions. Heck no! But is it very cute. Heck yes!
It very short. I read the whole series in 10 minutes. So if you haven’t already checked this out, I would definitely recommend.
This series made me a fan of Gurihiru's art, and definitely a fan of Jeff the Land Shark. Gurihiru brings so much charm and life to every character here, with impossible levels of cuteness for the title hero. It's dopamine personified.
