A love that was born when they were teenagers, family commitment nearly broke them but not quite
Cora and Elio had known each other since she and her mother had come into their home as their cook and she was her young daughter that followed the boys around trying to out-do them at every turn like a little sister.
As the became teenager Elio had fallen in love with Cora and she with him but when family commitment called and he had to take over his responsibilities their world had come crashing down. Cora had been heartbroken but she had lost so much more than Elio knew, a secret she had kept hidden deep in her heart.
As the family starts to come under attack from a Mexican cartel that is trying to infiltrate their area, selling drugs and committing crimes that cause blow back on the Calabresi family security has to be stepped up.
Cora has returned to her home town where she is now a qualified vet working in an area of the city that affords help to people of all financial backgrounds, she has worked very hard and is well respected but now someone is trying to buy her clinic and she has no intention of selling.
As the attacks become more focused and it is apparent that Cora and her clinic and veterinary skills have come to their enemy’s attention Elio steps up security but still she is attacked and he is furious some one is betraying them but who?
I guarantee that as Cora and Elio are becoming an item once again and he discovers what her secret is he is nearly broken but his family help him and he reaches out to his girl, he still loves her and she obviously still cares deeply for him.
The attacks on the family show that the Mexicans have no morals they will kill women and children without any compunction and he now realises that a life without her in it would be no life at all and Cora has always loved him since she was his shadow.
I guarantee that you will love this read but be prepared as it will be impossible to put down once you begin reading the story is so engaging, you will be left waiting in earnest for the next book in this amazing series.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Another amazing story from L.K. Ryan. This series keeps getting better and better. Enemies to lovers is such a fantastic trope. This story was a mile a minute adventure that will left me always wondering. Elio Jr. was a little different from most other stories. He was totally in love with Cora. Cora was a little leery and I was cheering her on – you go girl, don’t let him talk you into doing his bidding like a bunch of these asses. Not that EJ was a big douche it is just with these alphas they feel they can rule everyone but he had another think coming. Their comprising and learning was so well written. I am so glad this series I continuing.

Cora and Elios Jr, were young loves till events separated them breaking more than just their hearts. Now Coras back in town and Elios wants her more than ever no matter how much she pushes, and how much heartache they share. when the cartel comes for her Elios will do anything to keep her safe. well written steamy engaging emotional rollar coaster ride, with action and more. a great second chance mafia romance.

This is the fourth book in this incredible series, and this is Elio and Cora’s story. Elio and Cora were torn apart by circumstances, and now she is back in town, and he is possessive, protective, and determined to get her back.
This is a well written story which is an action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, enemies / lovers, secrets, suspense, heartbreak, second chances, intrigue, twists, and love, which leads to an entertaining, dark mafia romance.

Each book covers a couple and this one was Elio Jr and Cora story. They were young when they fell in love but he broke up with her so she could go off to college which she did, but he wants her now but she fights him the whole way but the Vargas cartel are trying to come take over Chicago and this story takes us on a wild ride that will eventually get us to their HEA.

Yeah this one got me right in the heart. Funny how some characters just appeal to you, and you're there with them every step of their journey. For me - this was Elio and Core.
Enemies to lovers with a lot of action and adventure but the catnip element for me was Elio was so in love with Cora. Because this so does NOT happen in real life I just went with the fantasy and thought the story rocked.

sooo good!!!
I loved, loved, loved this story! Oh my goodness, these stories might be getting better and better. I love the stories who it seemed implausible that they would find a mate and it works out, it couldn’t be more perfect!! This book has spice, humor, vengeance, and loving someone to submission. All of the elements of my favorite types of reads. Loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to read Vencenzo’s story.

This is EJ and Cora's story and how they, finally, get to their happy ever after.
Although I did enjoy this book, for some reason I just couldn't completely 'get into it' as I had with the earlier books.
I liked the characters and plotline and it's always good revisiting earlier characters.

This series keeps getting better. Enemies to lovers young when they fell in love and then he let her go but now he wants her back and he’ll do anything. I can’t wait to read the next book.
