Alien Nanny Agency #2

Alien Pilot Needs a Nanny

Rate this book
When inexperienced nanny April goes to work for a hotshot pilot, she’s in for some unexpected turbulence.

April left behind her dreams to become a professional dancer the day she learned her work contract was for a gentlemen’s club instead of a theatre. She’s waiting tables and trying desperately to avoid the stage when she gets an opportunity to take a job as a nanny on idyllic planet Ulfgard. The previous nanny storms out of the fancy penthouse screaming about the awful kids, but April can’t wait to roll up her sleeves and help. It’s their intimidating, achingly gorgeous father who has her stomach in knots.

Khall Rivvor is a war hero – a hotshot Jordraaki pilot who gained even more unwanted fame for his good looks. All he wants is a quiet home life. But the arrival of the new nanny has turned his world upside down. And while April works her magic with Bolynne’s hot temper and Minerva’s shyness, she’s weaving a spell over Khall’s heart, too. It’s all he can do to remind himself that she’s young and she’s depending on him for a roof over her head. He can’t give in to the need to touch her, even if it’s tearing him apart.

When danger from April’s past surfaces, Khall’s protective instincts go into hyperdrive. But it’s April who will have to face her fears and step up to protect the people she loves. Will Khall surrender to desire and open his heart to her in spite of everything? Or is this pilot destined to fly solo?

April is brought in as a nanny for Bo—a young girl who is prone to tantrums—and Minerva, a quiet teenage girl. Khall, Minerva and Bo’s father, is a pilot who spends money spoiling his children rather than spending his time with them.

April is a new nanny with minimal training, so I understood her initial missteps when it came to watching the children. It became uncomfortable when she focused more on her attraction to Khall than on her responsibility for his children. She wasn’t a bad nanny, per se, but it felt like she was being “homey” for the sake of Khall—if that makes sense.

The favoring of young Bo over Minerva from Khall (and to a lesser extent, April) was obvious, and maybe that was the point. I was completely shocked when Minerva was introduced because she never even entered Khall’s thoughts when he was reflecting on being a father in his first chapter.

Khall was a better father than the main character of the previous book (Ra’as from Alien Architect Needs a Nanny). I loved how quick he was to apologize and do better.

For all my qualms and frustrations with this book, I flew through it. I really like how the previous wives in the series (who died fighting a war) are respected and admired by every single character. It could’ve easily gone another way, but it never even drifted in that direction.

That was a perfectly trashy romance. Silly, with no whiff of reality, it was just what I needed to get me out of a post-holiday funk. No deep issues, no 3D characters, just lots of lust and smut and a hint of a plot. The sci-fi aspect was simply a device employed by the author to get even farther away from the technological and psychological limitations of real life. Despite the amateurish narrative, I actually enjoyed reading this short book. But I won't be reading more of this author. One was enough.

Two lost and lonely souls

This story starts off with a new nanny and a hard nosed captain. Then a warm and loving woman saw the best in each member of this family. The children learned what a positive influence is and how it makes you feel. Well worth reading.

Cute and different.

Occasionally I'll dip into the alien romance area. I was looking for a light, free book to start my new year reading goal and Khall and April's book popped up. This was a quick read, I haven't read this author before and I didn't start with book one. I didn't feel like their was a continuation from the first book or setup that I missed. Tasha fleshed out the plot well and while I feel like there could have been more drama from April's problem or more backstory for both her and Khall I can confidently drop 4 stars. I will probably snap up another book from the series at some point.

The Alien Nanny Agency continues with another installment, every bit as wonderful as the series debut was! April and Khall are just what each other needs, and little Bo and teenage Minerva are absolutely adorable. Alien Pilot Needs a Nanny is the kind of read that you’ll want to read in one sitting, equal parts steamy, heartwarming, and action-packed. Looking forward to the next in the series, Alien Ruler Needs a Nanny, coming this summer!
April may be inexperienced at being a nanny, but she definitely needs this job. So she’s determined to make it work. Even if Khall Rivvor is equal parts attractive and infuriating. Little Bo is a bundle of energy and passion and needs more than anything else patience and understanding. And teenage Minerva may be reserved, nose often stuck in a book while she’s shut up in her room, but she’s needs care and attention every bit as much as her baby sister. Not to mention that Khall needs a calming influence in his home life, someone to interpret and intermediate when it comes to his daughters at times.
But Khall isn’t ready for April to be that person, not when he’s already having a hard enough time resisting her. Not when he needs her there for Bo, and can’t risk messing that up to pursue his nearly irresistible nanny who has the biggest heart. He continues fighting against what seems to be inevitable, because April isn’t for him, despite the fact that his every possessive instinct insists otherwise. And, as some of April’s secrets and past come to light, it becomes clear that she’s gotten under his skin in more ways than one.

The books I'm about to talk about are the Alien Nanny Agency books from Tasha Black.

This one in particular is called "Alien Pilot Needs a Nanny".

Something in this book made me realize how corrupted I am by all the monster/alien sm*t I've been reading... 😂😂😂

First, I want to start off by saying that I actually really like this series. It's going to be firmly planted in my "comfort reads" folder, and I'm pretty sure her other books will follow suit. There's just something so simple and blessedly uncomplicated about reading these books.

The writing is nice, too, so that helps! But honestly, sometimes you just need an easy, walk-in-the-park read. It's almost as if each book follows a check-list I didn't even know I wanted in a romance story like this, and checking off each box in said check-list as they come up is like finishing a comfy routine, scratching parts of my brain I didn't realize needed scratching. They follow a pattern that ends up turning the books into something cozy and sweetly predictable, and I appreciate that.

You have instant attraction, fretting over an age gap that ends up not really being an issue, protective mmcs (but the fmcs are also protective in a mother bear kind of way!), a little jealousy, a touch of possessiveness, a moment of misunderstanding that doesn't drag out into anything lengthy or too anguish-inducing, some tense moments that make you cheer for the characters as they overcome some big hurdle (be it a shady person from their past, or their own trauma, or maybe just a personality flaw)--big, but not insurmountable or anything that would detract from the cozy nature of the books--and of course, a HEA. And just a little spice. :) You get at least two spicy scenes in each book.

(Plus, and this is for this particular series, not her others, I love the whole Cinderella-nanny-falls-for-rich-powerful-type trope. Or maybe it should have been written the other way around, I like the rich dudes falling for and taking care of their Cinderella-Nanny. 😂)

But let's get to what made me laugh so much I thought I was going to pop a rib...

Light spoilers ahead:

In book two, the MMC is a race descended from dragons. It's mentioned early in the book that his kind have "abnormal" anatomy "down stairs". AKA, foreshadowing to the men having unique peens. So when I finally got to the sex scene, I was prepared for the worst (as in, the best). You know, something fancy and typical with smutty alien romances. They even make a slightly big deal about it in the moment, where he grabs her questing hands as they try to undo his pants to find out what she's working with. He holds her hands above her head and says, so solemnly, "I am am different from your kind." Which makes her ask, "Are we... compatible?" (I'll share screenshots. It was probably my favorite moment from the book. 😂)

You're probably asking, "What could be so unusual? To make him so worried and serious about her reaction?" And like me, maybe, if you've been corrupted enough, you probably expected something... different.

Tentacles, even, or maybe a knot! Maybe two knots! Some ridges at the very least. Possibly a spur? Right? The bread and butter modifications that make an alien penis slightly, but delicously, alien.

And what did we end up with?

A big green peen with three lil vestigial scales that could "bring her exquisite pleasure if she could take him fully", but for now, "glittered dangerouly in the moonlight, a signal to April that he was not her kind." 😂😂 Just. Three scales. That was it. SO not what I was expecting with the big lead-up. LOL.

All the giggling aside, if you're looking for something cozy, fast, and comfortingly uncomplicated, this might be the series for you. The sensation I get from reading them reminds me a lot of why I love authors like Diana Palmer, who also have a kind of routine/check-list style to their books. You know what to expect, so you can get excited about expecting it and be at ease knowing each story will follow a similar path, with just enough difference to also make each one unique enough not to be boring. :)

Just watch out for those alien peens. ;) 😂

Read the first in series and while there were a lot of things I liked, I didn't like the male lead who had a bad temper and was quick to make wrong assumptions and get into a rage only to find out he was wrong the whole time. I liked the premise of nannies working in this environment where there were few women, mainly due to the women being heros lost in battle.

Sadly, Khall, the male lead in this one, is not much better than Ra'as, the lead in book 1. Here's why.
-April wants to discuss his decision about a pet and instead of talking with her he goes into a rage and bellows at her.
-When the photographer nephew of the neighbour trails home after her, he is cold with fury.
-On seeing the guy took a photo of April he storms down to the neighbour's and screams at him, threatening him, over the old lady's head.
-He pins April to the wall, in anger, forcefully kissing her against her will.
-He follows her to the club when she goes out, (to get away fromm him)grabs her by the arm and drags her out.
-Later as he is making out with her he reminds himself "she's young, she's been drinking and she was scared and angry". Then he proceeds to perform oral sex on her.
-On hearing April had gotten a compliment , before knowing from whom, "a jealous rage began to boil in his belly".
-Teen daughter who has been remote and cut-off since mother's death comes to talk to him about her dreams of joining Air Brigade. He is furious, won't talk to her, turns his back on her. After she leaves, "he feels a pang of regret at the thought she was closing herself off in her room again because of his anger "
-Mistakenly assumes April was with a man - is furious
-Mistakenly assumes April has been encouraging daughter to join military - is furious
-Finally, after almost losing April and girls, decides he is no longer angry. Wow. Cured of being a rageaholic.
Finally, all made up, they are going to make love. "Lie down, he told her, furious with unsatisfied desire".

I got zero pleasure from reading this. This guy gave me anxiety! I found myself wondering if the author has an angry man kink. Given all the 5 star ratings, obviously she's not alone. While I did not enjoy the book, I finished it because I wanted to see some character evolvement, some remorse, to see Khall somehow redeem himself. It never came. 2 stars for technically good writing and awesome kids. Oh, and I don't think the author knows the definition of the word cagey. Hint, it doesn't mean feeling cooped up.

A riveting read, great characters and wonderful plot
Another absolutely fabulous addition to the Alien Nanny series, right from the start April is a marvellous character arriving at her new position as a nanny is leaving decorated in purple paint and complaining about the devil child she has been caring for.
This is April’s first Nanny position and she is determined to do her best and having come from a hone with seven younger siblings she is used to helping little ones and so has some knowledge. Bo is a tiny dynamo and she can tell immediately that she is an empath and also very moved by her feelings and tact is the best way to help her small charge.
Her employer is a hero to the people having helped save his world and the people on it when they had been attacked unfortunately the women that had to stand firm and defend their homes and children had all been killed leaving so many children without mothers and husbands and fathers without wives, it was truly heart-breaking and she was determined to help the family.
April also has a secret of her own and has moved far away from home to escape her previous employer that has been trying to force her into a compromising situation which fortunately with help she avoided, she knows he is determined so is working under another name in the hope this will keep her safe.
The interaction between Bo and her older sister Minerva is so heart-warming and some of the things the get up to make you laugh out loud, her employer Khall also has his own story to tell but is very closed off and loves both his daughters dearly, he is a wonderful father if not a little quick to lose his temper.
I will not spoil the read for others so have given you a good idea of the story and also state that once you begin reading it is impossible to put the book down to discover what the ending will be for this little family.
I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Khall & April +two

Heartwarming? For sure. Steamy with chemistry? Yep. Touching? Absolutely. I loved it.

She badly needed a job. If not she might have been afraid to stay with the greeting she got when she arrived at Khall's door. However, maybe her inexperience and need (never forget the tenets) helped her cope along with her just common sense and natural kindness.

His daughter was a bit stubborn and demanding. She needed a strong but tender hand and April seemed to fit the bill. I loved the way she treated the entire family with respect and caring kindness. This was a home filled with loss and need. It seemed that April thought she should spend time with her charge and not just be there as an adult presence. She filled a missing hole in their home. She not only cared about her charge but the entire family and resisting the hot dad was a challenge.

Little did she know that "dad" felt the same about her? Could they resist the chemistry between them? When her past caught up much of what she'd built with the family seemed to be destroyed. Would they recover their progress? Would the dangerous past not only jeopardize her present but her life?

This is touching, seeing what others called a monster child show her real self as sweet and smart was one of my favorite parts of the story. There is more child involvement but no spoilers and readers will love it too.

Thank you Ms. Black for bringing touching stories with intrigue and great characters into our sometimes stressful lives.

This was an enjoyable alien romance with a single dad falling for his nanny. Khall was a man who was struggling to be a good dad, deal with the tragic loss of his wife, and continue to work. When the newest nanny April appears he realizes how he, and his kids, had just been going through the motions and there had been very little joy in their lives. April was a very happy and outgoing woman who went out of her way to reach through to these kids. She got to know them and actually helped them through the last of their grief and allowed them to move on with their life and in turn they gave her a home and a family that loved her for who she was.

April was a wonderful MFC and I really liked how caring she was. We really need more April’s who care about kids like she does because the world would be such a better place if there were. April’s backstory was heartbreaking but I loved how strong she was and that she didn’t wait for someone to save her. She tried to save herself first, even if it meant breaking the law. April and Thall’s relationship was sweet and slowly grew as April slowly healed his family. The romance is definitely more closed door than on page but I still enjoyed it. Overall this was good and I would read more of this series.

I am just loving the series. The premise of the series is the men “alien men“ were off fighting to save their planet when the enemy closedown on their planet. In order to hold them off until the men could get back the females put up a good fight. They all save the day but the end result was most of the females dying. Now the men are left with children who need nannies. In this book we meet April, she came from a big family, and got herself in a bit of trouble and with no help from her family she’s off to become a nanny. That is when she meets their father Khall. He is healed as a hero, and now he’s out of the military but flying commercial ships. April falls in love with his two daughters little Bo and a young teen going through with all teens go through alien or not. April is so good with the children, she is better than Khall ever thought anyone would be since his wife died. There’s something special about April, and he’s having a hard time keeping his hands to himself. Khall and April‘s story is amazing and the children just add that something special. There’s still a hint of danger, a lot a family, and the way one young woman changed a male and became part of their family. So much love.

I love it! I am a little short of time. April has a some off world problems. It kind of shows how much she cares about Khall & the kids when she tries to take care of it herself. Then tries to leave the kids out of it when her past catches up with her. She is willing to go with the man who she left her home planet to avoid if he will just leave the kids there unharmed. Unfortunately, he decides to take the girls as well. But at least Khall has been able to get up above to see what is happening & can jump down to the hover ship to stop them from being taken. He finds that the flying controls are damaged. He is able to save them & guide the hover ship into an unfinished unoccupied building. He & the kids all have chutes, he is going to hold April. They get down safely. He lets her know how he feels & asks the kids how they would like for him to make April a permanent part of the family. They are all for it, & the job change, with the move. It is decided. They go on a house hunt, when they find the right one, he proposes. I love it.

Omg! Are you ready for the latest, new must read, “Alien Pilot Needs a Nanny” & the 2nd phenomenal book in the new, ‘Alien Nanny Agency’ & another fresh new page-turner that you do NOT want to miss out on!! ... I love the premise of blending families with young and older children. This is a sweet PNR romance with relatable characters & clever dialogue! ... Add in a smokin’ hot chemistry between the H/h, Khall and April, despite misunderstandings that get cleared up, they will give the adorable kids, an HEA loving home! ... This grabbed me from the start with awesome attention-to-detail, right through to the end! ... Even tho I volunteered to read this before the kindle release day, it was without any outside influences & I can honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction! Once again I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment, but of course I will always wait ;)

This is book 2 in the series and can be read and enjoyed completely as a standalone. The more I read from this author the more it continues to surprise me how much I enjoy her stories. I have to admit that if I hadn't read anything from her I would have been put off by the titles - they all sound a bit ridiculous and Jerry Springer-ish. Although, they do adequately describe the story. I enjoyed this story and if you ignore the whole alien thing, this is just a story about a young, single girl and an older widower with children having feelings for each other. That said, it does very well in describing the roadblocks they may be either real or imagined before commencing a relationship. I really enjoyed this story and love that not only are the main characters drawn well, but the supporting characters are as well, adding a lovely dimension to the book.

Oh No! Bo!

Well Bo, the little girl in need of a nanny is 1/4th of what makes this a great story. I know the core is romance but it's important, to me, that the children are all focussed on. For a moment I thought Minerva might remain as the vestigial child. April wasn't going to allow that to surround Minerva; she was family. Family was important to April. Khalil had a heart stopping moment when he realized the beauty of family. How wonderful that included April.

My one thing to mention is the ending and epilogue bonus. In regards to all books the endings tie up too quickly. As for the bonus epilogues; they are too short. They remind me of a 5 minutes vaudeville act with either a bit of sweet funny or charming romance. The epilogues feel more like the first paragraphs that open the way for a longer book. I wish that were so, but I think it is the last.

Great read

The children nearly stole the show!! I really enjoyed that this was a book about the romance of family and April certainly proved that. Her ability to recognise the needs of Khall's children was astounding. However, it was really no surprise as she came from a large family and knew the dynamics within families as well as how children 'tick' so to speak!! Great world building Ms. Black. I also Liked our hero who was clearly a man in love with his children, yet was haunted with the death of his wife. And I have to be honest, the story of plot was more important than the sex so the characters for to know each other!! I also loved the perceptive nature of the children. Great plot with April 's previous employer after het. It all led to a stunning and really enjoyable read!! Great work yet again , Ms. Black.

Saved by the Nanny?

After being shunned by her family, April leaves her world and hires on as a nanny. Khall is a war hero with two daughters and trouble keeping a nanny but April wins over both the girls and their father. But April has "a past" and when it comes to haunt her, she'll have to step up. Nice girl meets big, bad alien who has a soft spot for his girls. Loved the characters although Khall blew hot and cold for a while but he had reasons for his doubts. April swallowed her fears and I love that she confessed about her past BEFORE it was an issue. So often, the problem happens which causes the confession - in this one, she addressed the issue before it was a problem. Great story, fast and easy read and a fun family. April was a blessing to them all.

This book was fabulous! The relationship between April and the children, Minerva and Bo, was very sweet and heartwarming! The relationship between April and Khall seemed to hit them both instantaneously and it just kept getting hotter from there! It was "fan my face" worthy!!

April was a great caregiver for the girls and it took him a minute, but Khall realized she only had their best interests at heart. They all seemed to form a family unit almost from the beginning!

Excitement, danger, sexy times, romance, family....what more do you need in a good book?

If you haven't picked this book up yet, you're going to want to get it! You'll love it...I know you will!

Another winner by my favorite author Tasha Black!

Great alien story with a happy ever after!

I really enjoyed this book and read it in one day as I had a hard time putting it down! One thing that confused me a little was the situation with April's mom, in the beginning she talked like she was dead, then a little further she was alive and they just weren't talking. Other than that, the story flowed well and had amazing characters. I loved the girls and how April brought out the best in them, even Khall. You could really see the family dynamic and the chemistry between everyone. There was drama, bad guys, chemistry, steam, and everything you could want in a feel good read! Can't wait for the next!

Swoon alert! Khall is a hard working, single parent, who's wife was killed in war. Being a pilot, he had to be away from them, sometimes overnight. So a nanny is the perfect solution, but the nannies just aren't working out. April came to work for Khall, and immediately forged a bond with his youngest as well as learned how to engage his oldest. But the attraction with Khall. The Dad? Oh my! Things are just heating up. But she's just the nanny? Or could it turn out to be so much more? Another fabulous alien romance by Tasha Black- complete with a drool- worthy hero as well as his kick butt heroine nanny and his kids

A good read.

I decided to read outside my norm and took a chance on this book - I am glad I did because I enjoyed reading it. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the world that they lived in, I loved the little snippets from the manual in this and seeing the connections that April was able to make, she was a lovely character who enriched the lives of those around her. I believed in the connection and chemistry between her and Khall and I enjoyed seeing them navigate their feelings for one another. I thought April, Khall, Bo and Minerva were good characters and each brought something to the story, it was a good escape romance for me.

I had high hopes for this. I mean look at that guy on the front cover, yes please. Sadly this was a flop for me. The pacing was just sooooo off I couldn't get into it. A lot of time is spent building up the relationship between the nanny and the kids but when it came to the actually romance that was just sort of tossed in. Not what I sighed up for folks. The rapport with the children was an important part of the plot but this is suppose to be a romance. The relationship between the two hotties is what we are all here for. So more smut and less visits to the park is what I'm saying.
This is my second attempt at reading something by Tasha Black, both books were bust.

This is another amazing entry for this series. The story is very engaging, and I was quickly invested in these characters, this couple and the family they are becoming. The chemistry and pull between April and Khall was sizzling and powerful. I fell hard for all the characters and April's relationship with the kids really yanked on my heartstrings. Drama, tension and suspense are combined with emotion, heat, sweetness, cuteness and swoon to create a irresistible and utterly delightful romance that is too good to miss out on. This is my volitional, objective review.

This is the second book in this series and follows April and Khall’s journey. Khall is a Jordraaki pilot, a single father, and is in desperate need of a nanny. April is trying to escape her past and takes a job as a nanny for Khall’s children. I loved both April and Khall and the connection and chemistry between them is undeniable and sizzling hot. April’s relationship with the children is heartwarming and I loved that she brought out the best in them. Another fabulous addition to this series and one I definitely recommend.

I loved this book! Not only was the story engaging, but all of the characters were vivid, colorful and evocative. Even the smallest parts were played with depth and emotion. You know how in some books, some of the characters are "flat." Not so in this book. I also loved that the hero was rather imperfect. He had some serious character flaws, but that just made him more relatable. And, Ms. Black's portrayal of the children was breathtaking. Of course, there was plenty of action, but I think the characters really drove this story. It's a can't miss read.

Book 2 is as good as book 1

Khall and April are really great together. This is a sweet story with only a little angst at the end but not much. I really enjoyed Khall and how he was so involved with his younger daughter’s life. Bo was definitely a handful but Minerva was actually the one I was most excited about. Khall teenage daughter was shy and quiet and didn’t seem to get the same notice as her younger sister until April came into their lives. I just love this series so far and can’t wait for the next book!

Nothing original, but well done.

Some lives are touched by small tragedies and some lives are touched by big ones. If we’re lucky there’s enough love in our lives to even everything out.

This is a pretty typical “nanny brings love back to the house “ novel with the stereotypical bratty, traumatized, over stimulated kids that need a firm but loving hand and a brooding father who can’t help but fall for the woman who loves his kids. There’s not much original about the story, but it is well written with interesting world building and lots of nummy jam.
