Yet her past life isn’t all that she remembers; she can recall her life as the original Serephione, and her sadness, and her pain...

After making a contract with Lou, she comes up with a plan to change the plot and avoid the villainess’s dark fate: become an adventurer and avoid everyone from the book! But the more she diverges from the plot, the more unpredictable the other characters become. How will she keep everyone from learning her secrets and spoiling her plans?

Ugh. What’s with the pattern of WAY inappropriately older than the little girl heroine love interests?!? He’s TEN years older than her and she gets her first kiss from him when she is 14! Ok it age appropriate, squicky if not. I’ll continue, if only to see a proper age romance blossom when she is older. It’s not bad, just kinda gross right now. 3, why couldn’t she be a little older and he a little younger, stars.

Liked how the story progressed initially, but after the potential ML appeared and they mentioned the age difference, nah man im out no offense. Other than that, everything’s fine. I think im fine finishing just one volume of this

This is very nearly a checklist book, although it does make some effort to deviate from the genre norm in terms of romantic subplot. It's readable (although poorly paced) and good enough to merit picking up a second volume, but at the risk of damning it with faint praise, this is worth reading, but only if you've run out of other books in the genre.

I really enjoyed reading this light novel it is just the type I love I love stories where the MC is reborn into a villainess it makes for a very interesting story. I loved the characters I especially loved Sere most of all a very oblivious but very loving girl who loves her friends and family and wants to avoid the fate the story she was reborn into had for her. I also love her family, friends potential love interest and Lou the holy beast all such great characters. I loved the plot it starts out like many books like this with the MC remembering at least part of her past life as well and remembering that she is the villainess in her current life so she just wants to be an adventurer but life have a few different ideas about one is the holy beast Lou that should of gone to the story's OG MC but instead ends with her things go on from there looking forward to reading more.

The idea of the isekai novel, the villainess trying to turn fate, is a well practiced one. And much in this novel is good.
HOWEVER: When the main character, age 6, gets a "love interest", age 16, that clearly doesn't understand the meaning of "no"... That is not good. And it keeps going, the novel ends with them having a romantic dance in the snow when she's 14 and he's 24. Frankly, horrible. ESPECIALLY since there are much more interesting and rounded characters around her that'd make for way better LI's.
It utterly overshadowed any good part the novel had.

It’s…not as bad as some light novels, but that’s not saying much.

The fight scenes are comically terrible - trying to picture what is happening is laughable and completely unrealistic. She’s also a total Mary Sue character that has super magic, super fighting ability, is super loved by everyone, blah blah. And she keeps going on about being 40+, but acts like an immature, ignorant little kid. Literally cannot understand very obvious mentions of people liking her, or compliments on her looks. She has one of the holy guardians as a companion, but despite being these divine god like creatures, apparently humans can enslave them (it keeps using “servant” when I think it should be slave). ML forced his guardian into servitude, but apparently that’s fine, he doesn’t mind being forced 😐 It just doesn’t make sense. Also, despite Lou trying to camouflage, lots of people can see him if they have enough magic.

Her grandmother is also ridiculously OP, and the Trundle family in general is just ridiculous. Supposedly have no noble title, but then mentions how they’ve received many titles for merits in the past. Does the author think that titles just go away? They serve one master their whole life, like some kind of ninja or samurai despite that not being a thing in this world, and grandmother Erza instantly decides MC, her grand daughter, is her master 🙄 Erza btw, ignored MC since she was born and cut ties with her grandson because she was so upset about her daughter dying in childbirth. I think the author has not understood that Erza is not a Trundle by birth, she married into the family…anyway, they are stronger than anyone, plus have connections, run a guild and are spymasters, despite only having one member until MC is accepted. Not her older bro, HE’S not a “true” Trundle because his eyes aren’t black 🙄

There is a lot of stupid, like MC choking her opponent with her legs, and then everyone beating his unconscious body up for daring to touch her thighs with his body…you know, as she’s choking him. There’s some bad logic, like a fire sword meeting a snow sword, creating steam, so you have…fog. Not steam, but fog. But she can see because she’s made up night vision magic. Never mind that night vision doesn’t work in fog. And Erza goes on about how women fighters have to be able to do a man’s job and woman’s job or they’d might as well use a man. That doesn’t make sense. If there are jobs that require a woman, they’d still use a woman…and it’s all stereotypes like dancing and smiling and being able to look gorgeous and fight without messing up your appearance 🤦🏻‍♀️

The ML weirdly apparently falls for her when she’s 6 and he’s 16. Initially he seems to be just intrigued by her guardian, but then it makes it sound like he’s in love. In her first life she…worked for him and he used her up and discarded her, letting her home country seal her magic and execute her for the crime of…killing people her king told her to kill during a war. This is unclear, because I don’t understand how she worked for ML yet killed people for her king, when ML is the one warring with her home country. I’m not even sure how her country could seal her magic when she’s so powerful. At any rate, she feels like she owes him for saving her life, despite using her up and discarding her and letting her get executed. Not even sure what that means. The author should practice envisioning her scenes - there’s one point where she’s 14 (he’s 24) and it says and with 10 cm heels she came to his chest. Author. So without shoes she’d be what? At his abdomen? At 14? Come on.

The original protagonist has shown up and is also clearly transmigrated, but sounds like a spoiled PITA. Somehow Lou is irresistibly drawn to her, again making no sense. MC has changed the plot a lot, no matter what she thinks, and if under willing contract to one person, how can it be subverted so easily, without conscious effort? The author put in a lot of stuff that sounds cool and has dramatic effect, without considering any logic.

I was able to read to the end, but it’s full of highlights where I was basically was saying WTF. I’ll probably drop unless desperate for reading material.

This is another cute isekai story. But she went into the novel and seemed to went into the novel's villainess body. And she tries her best to change the story so that she won't die and she is worried that when the heroine appears everyone will betray her and turn their backs on her. At the age of three, she saved a white tiger who is actually one of the Holy Guardians. And the white tiger is just so cute and loves to eats cakes (like Kero-chan from Cardcaptor Sakura or Iryogi-san from Kobato) haha... love it. And she train to be a knight with the help of her father, brother and also her grandmother who is a great knight. And also along the way, she met a few friends both guy and girls. And the girls training under her grandmother makes me think about Barbie and the Three Musketeers. Love it so much.

She still have nightmares about the story that one day all of her love ones will just turn away from her. But she is trying her best to make all of them happy and wouldn't say anything. She kept it inside her heart until one day she couldn't any longer. Okay, I need stop or I will spoil the story. If you want to know, please do read it.

P/S A 16 year old prince just propose to a 6 year old her. hahaha... and she kind of told him his future and ever since then he already claimed that she is his.

Can't wait to read the next book.

This is awesome!

This book has all the best of everything I love about light novels! The characters are fantastically conceived and superbly executed. The side characters add just enough spice without overshadowing the main character and are equally well crafted! The story progresses smoothly and is engaging, with a perfect balance of angst and hilarity. BRAVO dear author! Fantastic work, and brilliantly edited, too! The only error I found was one reference to Isaac as a count instead of an earl, but it was referenced correctly everywhere else. I'm ecstatic about the editing be cause so many good stories are ruined for me by distracting typos. Excited for the next volume! I think this will be one of my new favorite series!

Love this and can’t wait for the next one!

This book was a sheer pleasure to read! The characters were lovable and engaging. The plot was familiar but with enough unique twists to keep it fascinating. The world building was good - simple but centered around the characters and story so it came out just right. The dialog and story flow was perfectly paced. Hated for this to end, but it did wrap up in a good place. No cliffhanger, just lots of possibilities for the story to continue. Lovely!

Not bad for the genre. In this case, the protagonist wakes up to discover she's a villainess from a book she read in her past life, and has memories from both a previous life in Japan and from being the book character she now embodies. As usual, she wants to avoid her dire fate. However, the plot has other ideas.

It's fairly well written and translated. The story moves along quite nicely and the protagonist is OP, but not so badly OP that everything is (too) easy. Overall, not a bad read. Maybe I bit short, or I read it faster; not totally sure which.

Creative wonderful writing!

It's about a heroin who has reincarnated and understands the original villainous story that she's reincarnated in to. To the point of sharing the feelings of the original. So together with the feelings of the villainous she struggles to find a new future where she can live happily with her loved one's.

Fun!

What's not to love? There's cuteness, fluffiness, wholesomeness, random acts of violence, and etcetera. The love interest is a bit concerning... but who am I kidding, I love him. I wish we had more time with him. <3

All in all, it was a funny and entertaining story. I intend on reading the next book in the series.

This book was awful. It was all tell don't show. We are told about her training but we are never showed how she trained. Not once did we see her take lesson to educate herself on battle, etiquette, or any other subject. Not to mention the 16 years old pedophile who told a 6 years old child that she is going to be his empress. I didn't enjoy this book and I won't continue the series.

This was very fun! It had promise from the start, but took me a bit to warm up officially. I quite enjoyed it, will be reading the next one.

Also very interesting in that it seems to be a limited series of just three volumes, which is rare for light novel series.

It's a fun concept, but I've read enough of these types to have expectations, and this one didn't meet them. The language was juvenile, and I got bored.

Started the story out of boredom but found it to be a cute take out the villainess Isekai. As the "protagonist" is also from another world, I am looking forward to how the story will progress while being forced to follow the original plot.

Serephione is troubled by unfamiliar thoughts that increasingly intrude---and then she rescues a baby tiger, one of the four Holy Guardians, and remembers she was reincarnated into one of her favorite novels. Of course, she's the villainess. Determined to avoid anything approaching that fate, Sere tries to act against everything she can remember from the book, but she's not sure that's going to be enough . . .

This is a mix of tired tropes and some better-told aspects. I'm not at all bored with "reincarnated into a book" stories, but I am highly annoyed with things like the various adults who overreact to Sere because they're frightened of her grandmother. As long as the story was taking itself seriously, I generally enjoyed it. But those moments that were trying too hard to be funny by copying some annoying behavior generally kicked me out of things.

Sere is fairly young for a lot of this, although she's already in school by the end, so the beginning at least proceeds at a fairly good clip. To combat the book's setting of a magical academy, Sere is determined to go to the knight's school instead. To that end, she's trained her whole life in martial arts and fighting, in order to pass the rather stringent entry exam.

I did like Lou, and the way her family eventually gets drawn into supporting her against the original plot. I also mostly liked Gillian, although it's more than a little creepy he immediately promises to marry her (she's six when they meet). But he's otherwise competent, a bit awkward around her, and he respects her wishes despite his own personal power.

Overall this may need another volume or two to really decide how I feel about it. The first volume is a bit mixed but I did mostly enjoy reading it. I rate this book Recommended.

There are a few aspects of this book that make it stand out a bit, and still make it an interesting read despite the english market becoming more and more populated by 'reincarnated as the villainess' stories. The main character is reincarnated as a three year old child in a book she had read in her previous life. She knows a terrible future awaits her if she follows the book's plot, so from an early age strives to take her life in the exact opposite direction from the story character she's been reincarnated as. What makes this story different is that first, it's book based, not video game based. Second, while Sere does become OP like many other characters in isekai books, she isn't the only one. Sere shares her novel way of looking at magic and combat, and ends up not only inventing new magic, but also making her father and brother OP as all get out too. And then you find out about Sere's grandmother, Erza, who is just OP as all get out from the start. When you learn about the story book Sere's eventual fate, you also learn that she isn't, strictly speaking, a bad person. She's stuck in a bad situation and attempts to do her best, but ends up getting the short end of the stick every time.
I think by far the part that makes this series most interesting, and what I liked the most, is this:

Different take on the villainess reincarnation trope! I know book 1 is trying to fast track Serephione's younger years (what a name), but I think the narrative did well to lay the groundwork on where the story wants to go. Arguably, the "you are the one for me" romance aspect is the one thing that feels inorganic and unnecessary for me but maybe it's something we'll fully understand in the next book. What does Gillain know that we don't?

I like most of the necessary side characters, they're active participants in our lead character's life and some of them being made aware of the circumstances is a plus - Dad and Lou knowing they can betray Serephi at any given time makes for good drama, I think.

So far, I'm very interested to read about what happens next. Can't wait for volume 2!
