When Ares became the president of his motorcycle club, it was with a promise to destroy his former club and its president. He succeeded, but in doing so, he lost the one person who meant the most to him, so when Jace is literally dropped on his doorstep, he won’t let him run away again. Keeping Jace safe is the most important thing to Ares. Nothing else matters. Not even the burning desire he feels every time he thinks about Jace.

It’s been close to a year since Jace ran. Since the man he loved killed his brother and set him free. He’s almost got his life back on track when he’s forced back into everything he just wanted to leave behind. The last thing he wants is to be around outlaw bikers again, but Ares makes it clear that he’s not giving Jace a choice. As much as he wants to run again, he also wants to know if there’s a chance Ares might feel the way he does.

When their past mistakes catch up with them, they’ll have to fight tooth and nail for what they want and there’s only one thing Ares truly wants, but will he chase Jace away before realizing it?

The King’s Disciples MC Series is a spin-off of the Salvation Kings MC series. Ares can be read as a standalone but is best read after the Salvation Kings MC series.

Ares has become the president of the King's Disciples MC after having killed his previous club president, Ronin, for being a giant dick. One of Ares’ main reasons for killing him, though, was to save Ronin's younger brother, Jace, from all the abuse and hurt he's had to endure under Ronin's rule. Ares has always wanted to protect Jace, caring about him more than about anyone else, which is why it hurt very badly when Jace ran away after seeing Ares kill his brother.

“You killing Ronin isn’t why I ran. It was how easily you did it.”
Ares cursed under his breath. “Fine. It was easy pulling that trigger. Because it meant he could never hurt you again.” Ares threw his hands up. “Is that what you wanted to know? That I’d happily kill anyone who’d hurt you? I will. And I’ll sleep fucking great at night, too, because you’ll be safe.”

This book picks up a year later, starting with Jace being found by a rival gang, kidnapped and beaten to a pulp as a warning to Ares. Ares is, understandable, absolutely enraged by this, and will do anything to keep Jace safe. He refuses to let Jace out of his sight, even if Jace wants to leave.

Did he think Ares would’ve smacked a Band-Aid on him and kissed his boo-boos before pushing him back out the door? No. Fuck that. He wasn’t letting him go. Not again. The past year without Jace, wondering how he was, if Jace was missing him as much as he’d missed him? That had been fucking torture. He wasn’t doing that again.

Ares loves Jace so much, and he feels so guilty about putting him in danger. The only thing he cares about is Jace, nothing else makes him feel this deeply or strongly.

That wall around his heart was crumbling. Jace had been back in his life one day and he was already losing it. It didn’t fucking help that Jace was hurt. It only fucked him up even more that he was likely the reason for it.

This story isn't written super well or anything, the plot is lacklustre and minimal at best, so you're really only reading this for the romance, obsession and possessiveness.
Ares is your typical swoon-worthy kind of alpha man who would do absolutely anything for Jace, feeling like all the rest can go to hell as long as Jace is safe and happy. Ares' love runs very deep, and he just desperately wants to take care of Jace.

“I hate admitting when I’m scared,” Ares said, his gaze dropping to the ground for a second. “But you scare the shit out of me. You have since the day we met because as much as I tried to deny it then, I knew there was nothing I wouldn’t do for you. I love you, Jace. Fuck. I’ve always loved you.”

Jace has obviously been the victim of a very tragic past filled with abuse, and thus it makes sense for him to be a bit timid and sometimes back away from Ares when he feels threatened or disrespected. This resulted in quite a bit of push-and-pull, but I personally didn't find it annoying, and kind of loved it every time Ares had to go get Jace back.
Jace definitely wasn't a pushover when it came to Ares and he also had a little bit of fight in him left when it came to everyday life.

“I might not be much of a fighter, but I’ll fight for you. Always.”
“I’ll do everything in my power to ensure you’ll never have to.”

These two obviously have history together, which I loved, because it gave their relationship credibility and depth, but I do wish we could have actually gotten to see their history ourselves.
It would have been super interesting to see what Ares and Jace’s lives were like before Ronin died, how they felt, how they interacted, how they pined and longed for each other. But also how helpless they both felt with Jace being abused by Robin, without Ares being able to do much about it other than comfort him. It could have been very good!

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It isn't a masterpiece by any means, but it had a relationship dynamic I adored, had a possessive alpha man with a soft-spot and adoration for one man only, had the right amount of angst, and I was just truly into it.

Ares is the president of the Disciples. With that comes allot of responsibility and decision making. Ares can be ruthless but one thing he will do is protect Jace at all cost. They have history but Jace keeps running. Eventually,  they must face what lies between them.  Jace is literally dropped on his doorstep beaten and Ares will seek revenge. Old debts are being collected. Can these two get their HEA? Can Ares be what Jace needs?  This author draws you in and doesn't let you go. I loved Jace and Ares and cannot wait for more

2.5*

This was an ok read, chosen because of the bike on the cover and to mark en ebook as read on my Kindle. Priorities, right?
Since this is a spin-off series, I might have lacked some background to really get the story. So know I had the feeling it lacked a bit of depth. This made me have less patience with the running and driving away that happened between Ares and Jace when it was clear to everyone else that the 2 couldn't live without each other.

When I learned that Ana Night would finally publish Ares and Jace's story, I actually squealed with excitement. I waited for this for some time and the best thing was that the book exceeded my expectations.

This was a story of faught feelings, because neither Ares not Jace considered himself good enough for the other. They had years of history together, they've seen each other at their best and at their worst. I so loved both of them. Ares, the violent when needed club leader, loyal and caring for his friends, and Jace, who still had the warmest soul despite the bad things he's seen and lived through.

Their love for each other reached from the pages, and it was only a matter of waiting for them to realize that they were better together than apart. No one ever deserved happiness as much as Ares and Jace did, and I've been cheering for them from the sidelines since earlier in the series when they've won my heart.

This book was a thrilling ride both because of the relationship between Jace and Ares, and because enemies from the past threatened the Disciples club. The danger, mixed to the whole range of emotions Jace and Ares put me through, and the sense of belonging to the club family made this story an exiting reading experience. I loved it and I can't recommend it enough.

Ares is an excellent start to a new series with wonderful characters, an intriguing storyline as well as being gritty, fast paced and super sexy. I love that Ares is trying so hard to make his new club something he and the others from his old club can be proud of. Jace is trying to move on the best that he can after being brutally abused and controlled by his brother. Neither of them have been able to forget the other even though it has been a year since they saw each other. When their past catches up to Jace and he needs help Ares is willing to do whatever it takes to keep him safe. They are perfect for each other as they have a strong connection and smoking hot chemistry. The only thing standing in their way is their shared past and they both have some difficult decisions to make if they want to be together. I love that their friends are so supportive and happy to share their opinions when it looks like Jace and Ares have given up on each other. The ending is perfect, I love the secondary characters and I can't wait to read the next book in this new and exciting series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

MC MM romance

This series follows Ares the President for King's Disciples, a charter of the King's MC, formally of the Henchmen MC and Jace, brother of the President of the Henchmen. This series is a spinoff, so it might be best to read the King's books to follow the story.

Jace ran after the Henchmen MC werw disbanded. He was traumatized from the abuse he received from his brother. He has loved Ares since they met but he needed time to stand on his own and get better. An enemy drives him back to Ares for help.

Ares has loved Jacs from the first. He's kept tabs on Jace sice he ran but gave hime time and distance to work out his issues. Now with an enemy wanting revenge he's keeping Jace close.

Ares and Jace have to finally admit their feelings and survive this threat to have a future.

Good story. I am interested in reading further stories.

This story was nice one and started our King's Disciples MC series. Ares had to choose what was best for him and the brothers he actually saw as his brothers as well as for Jace the boy he had taken under his wing especially because Jace had left with his heart. Do when he gets Jace back to his life he fights even stronger for Jace and his family of brothers.
Odds are against these two especially because they are really bad at straight communication. But sometimes the dire situation gives a chance to make things right. I loved this couple and their brothers and I think Ana Night has created an amazing world that sucks readers in it and makes us crave more. Thats what she's done for me at least. Definitely recommend.

Ares is a new series by Ana Night and I enjoyed this book from start to finish. Jace has been running from his past and it finally catches up to him. Ares is the new leader of the King's Disciple and they have been given a fresh start. Someone is after Jace and tried to use him to get back at Ares, the book is action-packed, romantic, some very hot sexy times, and I'm looking forward to the next book.

New Beginnings!

Ares finally got what he wanted for a very long time, Jace. Even though he came back to him bruise and battered, he came back and he came for Ares. It took a lot of time but they finally were what they've wanted to be since the moment they met ,a couple who could show their love for each other without putting their lives in their hands. GREAT START TO THE SERIES!!😘😘

Ares was first introduced in the Salvation Kings series and I remember being intrigued by his character, so I was excited to see that his story is the first in this new spin off series. I loved Jace and Ares together and it was sweet how protective Ares was towards Jace. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Waited for this one for a while but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Ares was not the character I felt he was in the King series. Storyline was OK. Needs a proofreader really badly. Not somuch typos but the wrong words used in a sentence. Will keep reading the series though.

And, IMO, big bad bikers don't stick their bottom lips out in a pout.

I did finish this book, but only browsing through the last tens of pages. The loving atmosphere was nice, and the love story in book worked. Writing felt a bit childish and simplified, specially in the beginning.

Love Ares

This was a great MC book to kick off this series of King’s Disciples. Jace is and abused person from his Brother who was the President of the Henchmen that Ares was a part of and who killed Jace’s brother and the Kings were born, Jace ran from Ares until now…

Sweet, steamy, and engaging sort of second chance romance. Some suspense, too. Engaging characters and premise.

Good concept but the writing is not well developed. It’s choppy to the point of distracting. Just not a fan of the writing style in general because it feels like reading bullet points. Don’t know if I can get into it/ finish.
