I really enjoyed this sequel!! Not quite as much as I love the first one, but it’s still pretty flipping good. Signal isn’t quite as helpless as she seemed in the first one, which is great! But… and here come the mild spoilers by the way… I was kind of annoyed by all the back and forth between Signal and Erik. Like, I really like you, but you don’t like me. And then repeat that enough to be kind of obnoxious. It didn’t seriously detract from the story, but I would have been into a little bit more of a solid relationship.

Anyway, other than that, I was absolutely into the rest of the book!! Nobody is still the shit and I really started to like Jada too. The characters were all interesting and I was into their development. I also really enjoyed Signal’s journey to clearing her name. So much drama and craziness!!!!

I recommend this to those who loved the first one. This is a great installment!! I’m not convinced that there won’t be a third one by the way. Totally possible after having read the end!!!

Thanks so much to NetGalley, Crooked Lane Books, and Lily Sparks for the opportunity to read this for my honest and unbiased opinion!!

when teen killers club dropped two years ago, i had SO much fun. it was a whirlwind of a novel that took me by surprise: the story felt witty, dark, and somehow poignant, too - with an endearingly violent (violently endearing?) motley crew cast at its core, book 1 of this series seriously captured my heart. it also ended on a cliffhanger, and i was dying, pun intended, to read the sequel.

unfortunately, teen killers in love just didn't hit the same for me as did its predecessor. where book 1 felt novel and fresh and pee-my-pants funny, book 2 fell a little flat in its reliance on the romance between signal and erik. (although, with a title like teen killers in love, should i have expected otherwise?? maybe that's on me.)

in book 1, i was gripped by signal's plight (who framed her for the murder of her best friend? how will she possibly survive teenaged assassin camp when she's a vegetarian, faints-at-blood softie?). in book 2, i was neither inspired by nor invested in signal and erik's mission, especially the part where erik believes he has to prove signal isn't a class A so that he can somehow redeem himself. teen killers in love felt, to me, slower paced, more repetitive, and less engaging than teen killers club.

that being said, i'm definitely going to read more of lily sparks' works! a brain who can come up with the likes of teen killers club has my eternal interest.

thank you netgalley, crooked lane books, and dreamscape media for advance copies of this ebook and audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

TLDR: A solid continuation of the story that is a bit slow to start, but finishes very strong!

Teen Killers in Love picks up right where the first book left off, with characters on the run. I think because of that, it takes a little while to find its footing. About the first third of the book feels more like a random road trip (not my personal favorite thing in books) without a clear purpose or direction. (Aside from trying not to get caught of course.) The first section isn't bad, and has some great creepy moments (haunted house!) and plenty of relationship drama, it's just less engaging than what I found the first book to be.

That said, things definitely pick up later on with excellent twists and bringing back more of the characters! I think this is really at its best with the group dynamics, which is saying something because not everyone can write so many distinct, entertaining characters with interesting interactions. The last two-thirds of the book I was having a great time, and definitely want to see what happens in book 3! I think the first part of the book could have been condensed for better pacing, but I also see why some of the plot beats there were necessary.

A lot of this book is focused on Eric and his past. (content warning for psychological and medical abuse) The central question: is he really a psychopath or is he just a traumatized kid? Can he experience love or is he just out to get what he wants and use people? That drives a lot of the story, and I found it to be compelling. But if you get annoyed at relationship drama, misunderstandings, and love triangles this may not be the book for you. Overall, I thought this was a solid installment in the series and a good second book from a debut author. I look forward to reading more! I received a copy of this book for review, all opinions are my own.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC!

This. Cover. This. Title.

This was a sequel I forgot I was waiting for and was already excited based on those two aforementioned facts alone. I vaguely remember the first book since it’s been a long time since I read it, but I felt like this book gave me enough information not to be left completely confused.

It was thrilling to follow Signal, Eric, and Nobody on their adventure. I got to know them more in this book and was rooting for all of them regardless of their Class A status and immoral choices. (And the entire Found Family as the book progressed). It was an interesting dynamic to see whether Eric and Signal were Class A’s or not, especially with their pasts and unclear details they’re trying to solve.

There were times when I preferred the others more than Signal, but I liked her more here than in the first book. It was interesting to see them all in the real world and the romanticization of true crime when they’re the subjects at hand, while trying to take down Camp and the people behind it while ALSO clearing Signal’s name.

I will say that this book had some filler moments and the will-they-won’t-they between Eric and Signal was pretty repetitive, but this was a solid sequel. I also love Nobody so much. She was one of the best parts of this book.

Also, me being a Single Repeater does not make me a Class A … hopefully. (I loved how the concept of it was used at the end. iykyk).

And if there will be a third book, which there should be, I want it.

4.25 rounded down. Not as good as the first, but still plenty of reveals to keep interest very much alive. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an AudioARC in exchange for an honest review.

Signal and Eric are back in this sequel to Teen Killers Club. After removing their kill switches Signal and Eric are on the run, trying to avoid fellow TKC campers and clear Signal's name. When Eric's past is further revealed, what new obstacles will it present for these teens? Can they avoid other Class A's, especially these new campers who seem to have inhuman strength?

Teen Killers Club was a fantastic read. Signal could be seen as whiny to some, but I really sympathize with all she went through in book one. Book two doesn't really see as much growth for Signal in regards to Eric and their unspoken feelings. She does seem to have much more of a backbone now and is willing to even blur some lines in order to clear her name. What I truly missed was the relationship Signal has with all the other campers. They are what made TKC so much fun and endearing....even if they are killers. The ending gives us a cliffhanger which I hope we get to explore more in a third installment, and a hope that Eric can be redeemed.

Overall, a fun ride with Signal and the crew(mostly Eric) presenting new plot twists and problems for the future. 4.25 stars rounded down to 4. Recommended for readers 12+ who enjoyed Teen Killers Club.

I liked the first book despite quite a few issues. Sadly though, the problematic issues increased in annoyance ten-fold. Especially the narration; Jesse Vilinsky is not a favorite of mine at all…and this story had her raising her high-pitched alarming tone way too often for me. I’m not even sure why I kept listening…I think it was the fact that I already DNF’d 5 books just this month and I didn’t want to add another, I mean it seems excessive.

…the score (out of 10)
➨ Total → 3.29/10
➨Opening → 4
➨Characters → 4
➨Plot → 3
➨Atmosphere → 2.5
➨Writing Style → 4
➨Ending → 2
➨Overall Enjoyment → 3.5

I'm a big fan of the premise of Teen Killers, a system classifying teens that are likely to commit terrible crimes and the government utilizing it for terrible purposes. I enjoyed following Signal as she entered a camp full of killers and made the readers wonder if she actually killed her friend or if she was framed.

This book continued Signal's journey to prove her innocence and expanded on her relationship with Erik. I liked learning more about Erik and the other class A's, especially their crimes, as well as the classification test itself. What I didn't so much enjoy was Signal and Erik's back and forth. It took up so much of the plot and I just wanted Signal to either be with Erik or cut him loose.

The pacing wasn't the best, with exciting moments followed by lulls where it was Signal dealing with her feelings. I am interested enough to read a third book if the author writes one and hopefully we'll see some names cleared and the end of the classification system.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the copy

Oh. My. God. I have so many words. So many, and yet none at all. This book was incredible in every possible way. My only complaint is that there wasn't more of it. I am already DYING for book 3's release, which is over a year away, and seems torturously slow. Anyways, everyone should read this book. I loved the first Teen Killers Club a few years ago when I was given the opportunity to listen to the audio version on Netgalley. It was actually in late 2020, and one of the few things that got me through my first semester of senior year of high school, which was entirely online. I really appreciated how the book felt like a story between friends, something epic and long that sounds just close enough to being real that makes you question it. But honestly, it was incredible, and I will probably go on in life reading everything Lily Sparks writes.

Thank you to the publisher for an eARC via NetGalley for an honest review.

CWs: Murder, death, blood, gore, injury detail, mention of suicide, mental and emotional manipulation, forced experimental drug use (scientific-ish)

I need a third book! That ending crept up on me and I didn’t even realize it was ending until the last line. This one had lots of action and excitement, but it still took the time to work on the bonds and relationships between the members of the Teen Killers Club. I love this found family the group has created for themselves, and I love how they have each other’s backs. There were a lot of twists and turns in the plot, and it kept me guessing as it unfolded.
I really liked the progression of the friendships between Signal, Nobody, and Jada. And I loved learning more about Nobody’s past. Her character is so intriguing, and her friendship with Signal is really sweet.
Signal’s relationship with Erik was also really fun to read about. There’s a lot of back and forth between them because of Erik’s manipulative abilities, but it made them feel more real. I was rooting for them the whole time. I really liked learning about Erik’s past, and his connection to camp was shocking and heartbreaking.
I read this whole thing in one sitting. Signal’s voice comes through really well, and the writing style is easy to follow. I got completely lost in this story, and I’ll be desperately hoping for another book.

Having left the group split in two, this was always going to be a rather strange affair. Signal still need to gather the info required to clear her name, but the others in the group are going to be set on her trail. Not all will make it…
This gave us a lot of Signal thinking about her past and the impact of the events of the last few years. She seemed to spend a lot of time thinking about her relationship with Erik, though I did like the fact we got a lot more details about his past.
The pacing of this felt quite uneven. There were periods of high intensity action interspersed with not much. We never quite know who to trust, and while this lends some tension it also became a little infuriating.
Towards the end we get the final plan to try and get the info needed to clear Signal’s name. This isn’t quite as straightforward as it was made out to be, and some of the moments that came with this were odd to say the least.
We do get to find out a little more about the camp and its beginnings. The new arrivals and the things being done here were truly scary-though this all felt rather swept under the carpet I’m hoping it has not been forgotten and we’ll get a third book to try and resolve the outstanding issues.

STOP IT RIGHT FREAKING NOW!!!!!!

I am going to start off by saying that I RARELY if EVER... read series! And I am dying right now. I need book three RIGHT NOW. What even is this book? Thriller and romance all wrapped into one big huge ball of suspense and tension. And the ending, just perfect. I am so happy that I was able to receive an ARC of this book because it introduced me to the first book, which I DEVOURED as well. These characters kept getting better and better. The plot twists and turns made the pacing perfect.
I love Signal. I love Jada, Nobody, Erik, Denis, Javier...
And my god are these some good villains. This book blurs the lines between good and evil.
Also who doesn't just love to question everything? I can't wait for my students to read this book.

Absolutely brilliant, captivating and haunting, Teen Killers in Love follows the story of the previous novel Teen Killers Club, a must read for all thriller’s readers looking for a ‘’stick with you for a long time’’ story.

Lily Sparks just gave everyone the sequel they were waiting for. As captivating as the first one, each sentence and each detail has a purpose to a wonderful story with an incredible twist. Once you taste the words of Lily Sparks, you’ll never get enough. Definitely a favorite read of the year.

Wow! Lily Sparks does it again! We get some answers in this book about more of the characters past. This book is a hold on to the edge of your seat ride with lots of twists and turns. It is great for reluctant readers. Once you get started you don't want to put it down. I had to make myself slow down and savor it. I highly recommend it.

It’s rare to see a series go from a five-star first book to a one-star second book, but here we are.

When reading the first book in this series, I remember thinking it was odd that the title was so cringe, because it was such a fun and well-written story. This time around, the cringe is kind of perfect for the story we get.

Part of the problem is that what started as an excellent suspense thriller style plot has now devolved into an angsty romance. Some of this is a personal preference issue for me, but the whole thing seems so badly conceived and so far off from where the series started that I’m not sure if it really matters if you’re into dramatic romances or not.

Some of the problem for me was the audiobook version. The narrator is…not good. I’ve encountered her before, typically in young adult books, and her near hysterical, over the top style is pretty much unlistenable because it’s so hammy and overwrought, and it makes a plot overrun with absurd teen angst even more unpalatable.

I’m surprised that the author took this turn, because the first book was so measured and smart about the way it built suspense. Signal was never an exceptionally good protagonist, but she was certainly likable enough at the outset of the series. In this book she becomes maudlin and screechy. And Eric, well, he was already fairly unappealing and now he’s…worse.

I still recommend the first book in this series because it’s such a fun ride. But I now also recommend quitting while you’re ahead and not continuing the series.

I love this new series! In Teen Killers, Signal Deere was framed for the murder of her best friend. To avoid a lifetime behind bars, she joins a super-secret society for teen assassins. This program consists of the most dangerous and manipulative criminal profiles. Teen Killers in Love picks up where book one ended, gives us backstories and introduces us to new characters.

The sequel is just as good, if not better than the first. I love that we learn more about why the characters are as they are. The author does a brilliant job of developing the plot (dark, twisty, and suspenseful) filled with characters (flawed and genuine) you can't help but root for! I am anxiously awaiting the release of book three, I can't wait to see how this series evolves.

I received an advance review copy and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you

I had a huge issue with this book - I stayed up way too late reading it because I couldn't put it down!!! The plot, the characters, and the dialogue all conspired together against me in a deadly combination of addictive text. I was held hostage from the first page to the last. Don't just fear the Teen Killers - the whole thing slayed! Everything I loved about the first book reappeared in this installment, and I want some more!!!

Okay here's the thing - I just don't feel like I should have to need to re-read the last several chapters of book 1 in order to not be totally lost going into book 2? Sometimes exposition is good, y'know. I'm not sure how much this rating is that + book 2 syndrome, because I loved book 1, and I'm cautiously intrigued by book 3...

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the first one. I really hope this gets another book in the series, as the ending left you hanging! Which I didn't care for. I did like the new mysteries it brought into it. The romance was a bit much though I see how it fit with the story.

This sequel to Teen Killers Club was such a treat to read. The tale picks up right where it left off in the previous book, and there isn’t a moment of peace to be found for these poor, beleaguered, misunderstood teens!!⁣
