Stories, Musings, and Advice from a Funeral Director

Rate this book
This book is a collection of stories, thoughts and advice from Elle Payne about working in the death industry. From working 24/7 with a First Call company who picked up as many as 18 bodies a day, to becoming a dueled licensed Funeral Director/Embaler in the midwest to falling in love and moving to a remote peninsula in the Northwest where the funeral industry was like "Hee Haw hell". Elle's account of her journey is charming, compassionate, funny and lets the reader experience what goes on behind the scenes in the "death industry" in both good and bad funeral establishments. The author also offers compassionate, sound and practical advice about what to do when someone you love dies.

This book may not be for everyone - BUT the author’s anecdotes & information were well written & easy to comprehend & follow. Best parts - the anecdotes from through out her career and the Did you know? Snippets preceding each chapter.
